The following comes from an October 7 press release from Priests for Life:

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, will be the keynote speaker and recipient of the Sue Lopez Person of the Year Award during the Culture of Family Life Services seventh annual gala Saturday, Oct. 8 in San Diego.

Dr. George Delgado, medical director, said Father Pavone was chosen for the honor “for the great work he does in effectively and charitably spreading the pro-life message. He is a great role model for all of us.”

Culture of Life Family Services is dedicated to helping women in unplanned pregnancies with a variety of free medical services. The Sue Lopez award was named in memory of a woman whom Dr. Delgado described as having “galvanized the pro-life movement in the San Diego area.

“As the local leader of the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants, Sue single-handedly organized most of the pro-life events in the area. She was selfless, dedicated and very effective.” Since her death from breast cancer at the age of 55, her husband, Roger, has taken over her role with the Helpers.

Previous recipients of the Sue Lopez Award include San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone and well-known pro-life attorney Charles Limandri.

“I am honored to be in such good company, and humbled to be receiving an award for a woman who gave everything she had to save our unborn brothers and sisters,” Father Pavone said. “Culture of Life Services does outstanding work and Dr. Delgado, a medical advisor for Priests for Life, has been instrumental in saving the lives of 300 babies through the abortion pill reversal protocol. Life is in good hands in San Diego!”
