Position Title: Parish Receptionist
Hours: Full time (35hours/week)
Supervisor: Pastor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Parish receptionist welcomes all who come into or telephones the parish office in a friendly and professional manner and provides administrative and related office services to staff and parishioners. The ideal candidate will be organized, be able to multi-task and prioritize in a busy parish office.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides receptionist services for the parish office
Welcomes and directs visitors
Answer telephones and directs calls appropriately
Coordinate and provide hospitality for office visitors
Performs clerical/secretarial duties for supervisor and staff
Publishes the parish bulletin
Maintain parish census data
Record parishioner donations
Operate office machines and monitor their maintenance schedules
Order and purchase office supplies
Sort and process mail
Answer emails, word processing, and typing
Coordinate and facilitate parish mailings
Sacramental file maintenance
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills:

Must be friendly with excellent people skills
Must have knowledge of and skill in using personal computers
Above average communication skills; both verbal and written
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Professional demeanor
Familiarity with Microsoft office suite, especially Publisher
Thorough knowledge and familiarity with the organizational structure and practices of the Roman Catholic Church
Education & Experience:

One year’s experience with administrative and office procedures preferred.
