AREA/ PROGRAM FOCUS: Tips for Teens Program, Mental Health Services
JOB SUMMARY: This position has primary responsibility for program coordinator of Catholic Charities of the East Bay Tips for Teens Program located in 3 OUSD schools. Commitment to the mission and goals of CCEB are essential.
Areas of Supervision: The TIPs for Teens program provides culturally-competent, trauma-informed mental health services to Oakland Unified School District students and their families, often at times of severe grief and loss. This position has primary responsibility to provide program coordination to 3 targeted school for staff, mental health providers, and families as well as CCEB’s Clinical Case Managers; delivering school-based Trauma-Informed Practices (TIPs) for Teens program. The Program Coordinator will also carry a caseload and be the lead in at least 1 school site. Program Coordinator will receive training and support Tips for Teens team to use the ITCT-A model and will adhere to the program, and maintain fidelity to the model.
REPORTS TO: Director of Mental Health Services
•Demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent case management and mental health support to grieving and traumatized children, youth, and families.
•Learn, adhere to, and deliver the ITCT-A treatment model.
•Support CCEB’s mental health staff and CBOs to use ITCT-A and other trauma-informed practices.
•Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel, parents, and community members.
•Implemented and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
•Conduct home visits to OUSD students and their families
•Partner with school staff on needs of clients and their families.
