ONE DAY CATHOLIC RETREAT
The Militia of the Immaculata Villages at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1813 Oakdale Road in Modesto, present their 7th annual, one-day, silent Marian Retreat for adults, teens and children “Mary: Mother, Model and Guide in the Faith” on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 8:00 AM daily Mass through 4:00 PM. A Spanish-speaking track is offered.
Speakers include author Patricia Treece who dedicated her writing career for the past thirty plus years telling the stories of God's friends in the modern era. A Man for Others tells the story of Saint Maximilian Kolbe and is widely acclaimed as the best book the priest who gave his life for another at Auschwitz. Patricia's latest books are Meet John XXIII: Joyful Pope and Father to All, for which she won a Catholic Press Association award, and God Will Provide: How God's Bounty Opened to Saints and 9 Ways It Can Open for You Too.
The retreat includes Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, private reflection, and Sacrament of Reconciliation. Separate activities are planned for walking-toddlers and K-6th grade children.
Registration for children ends January 20. Pre-registration to assure a Continental breakfast and lunch is recommended for adults and teens. Limited tickets may be available at the door.
