Girl Scouts more pro-abortion than ever – boosting Sebelius and Wendy Davis

The following came in a Jan. 29 email to Cal Catholic from mygirlscoutcouncil@outlook.com.

Dear Friend:

Last week we somberly commemorated the 41 years since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision. This is a time to remember the unborn, their mothers and fathers, and to pray for our country. It’s also a time to take action.

As you may know, this time of year marks the beginning of Girl Scout cookie sales. Unfortunately, Girl Scouts USA’s promotion and support for abortion advocates has only escalated over the last year – especially over the last few weeks.  Girl Scouts USA continues to support women who publicly advocate for the very issues for which they claim no position.  Unfortunately, GSUSA is aided in their support of women and organizations that advocate for abortion rights through the millions of dollars they collect from the licensing fees attached to every box of Girl Scout cookies produced.

Girl Scouts USA recently honored seven women who “made a difference in 2013″ including Kathleen Sebelius, the controversial pro-abortion HHS Secretary who has been the public face of Obamacare.  They claimed Sebelius showed “courage, confidence and character.” Girl Scouts USA also promoted abortion advocate and Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis as “incredible” and someone who should be considered for “Woman of the Year” for 2013.

Thousands of people have shared this information through social media and email.  We are asking you to join them today as we launch an information campaign to inform the public about where the Girl Scout cookie money goes and what it supports.  You can download our cookie flier and also view supporting documentation at http://mygirlscoutcouncil.com/cookie-flier.html.

Please consider joining the many others who have shared this information with their friends and family so they can know before they buy.  Ask them to join our efforts by signing up at http://MyGirlScoutCouncil.com, liking our Facebook page at http://Facebook.com/MyGirlScoutCouncil and following us on Twitter @GirlScoutFacts.

We continue to be grateful for your great support and friendship. Thank you for everything you are doing to help spread the word.

Sincerely,
Your Friends at MyGirlScoutCouncil

FREDI, THE CHURCH IS *NOT* AGAINST SCOUTING, AS YOU SHOULD KNOW, BEING AN EMPLOYEE OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF SAN FRANCISCO:
The National Catholic Committee for Girl Scouts and Camp Fire welcomes you to our new website. Our hope is that you will find resources, information, and tools to support your work with Catholic young people in Scouting programs.

Christine – please check out the website of the Archdiocese of Kansas City – whose shepherd is Archbishop Naumann. The archdiocese expresses concern about Girl Scouts USA/WAGGGS and refers people to many websites documenting the Girl Scout concerns including mygirlscoutcouncil.com, speaknowgirlscouts.com, 100questionsforthegirlscouts.com, girlscoutswhynot.com, several articles exposing Girl Scouts by Mary Rice Hasson, as well as the 5-part EWTN series called Girl Scouts:MISSION ABORTED. I will trust Archbishop Naumann over the NCCGSCF which is a lay group – NCCGSCF is NOT a representative of the offical Church position nor the USSCB. http://www.archkck.org/ministries–offices/ecat-youth/archdiocese-on-scouting

  2. Thank you once again CCD for exposing the real truth about the Girl Scouts. There are also duplicitous posters who are still cleverly running deliberate interference on certain important topics that involve money going to causes that are also undermining our Church and our country. Now in the case of the Girl Scouts we see the (not so subtle that it didn’t get noticed) attempt to deny facts while defending this organization that publicly supports those who support the murdering of unborn babies. This same poster also denied the corruption that has taken place within Catholic Charities. See evidence below.

Thank you CCD for your past and continuing coverage in exposing the *very duplicitous nature* of the Girl Scouts. It is morally wrong to present yourself or your organization as believing in certain values while doing the opposite behind the backs of trusting people. The ongoing information that you have presented on the Girl Scouts has not been exaggerated as some have claimed that it may be.

Better strategy—-form Girl Scout troops in local parishes so you avoid the feminist domination. Taking cookies away from the Girl Scouts isn’t a sound strateggy. A nine year old Girl Scotu sold me three boxes last weekend. I’ve bought their years for years. Let’s mentor encouraging behavior to the girls, instead of punishing them for their national leader’s flawed politics.

    • good cause….read the article……the money from the cookies supports death. The little girls are being USED by the corupt GS organization. No cookies and tell the little darling and her MOM why…..you don’t support the funding of abortions.

    • good cause, as I don’t want to bust your feel good bubble, are you suggesting that local parish girl scout troops now manufacture and sell their own cookies? The main push for encouraging the girls to sell the cookies is leadership skills, not financial gain. In return for their efforts they receive only about .30 to .50 cents per box sold.

    • Yes, and then designate the monies toward the girls themselves, not for any political gain!

    • Ann Malley says:

      Good Cause writes:
“…Let’s mentor encouraging behavior to the girls, instead of punishing them for their national leader’s flawed politics.”

Yes, indeed, let’s mentor encouraging behavior to the girls. But don’t let momentum fall short by naively leaving impressionable children – our future and yours – prey to false leadership. If you don’t cut off the head of the snake, it’ll keep biting.

    • Texan4Life says:

Good Cause: why in the world would you want to have the Girl Scout organization represented in your parish when there are wholesome Christ-centered alternatives available? Girls deserve better than Wendy Davis and Sebelius. Check out Fidelis, Little Flowers or American Heritage Girls.

A related news story we all welcome and acclaim (from the website of http://www.lifenews.com 1/31/14):

“Nancy Pelosi will receive the Margaret Sanger award — the top honor given out by the Planned Parenthood abortion business.”

“Planned Parenthood Federation of America announced today that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will deliver remarks at the organization’s Annual Gala in Washington on March 27, where she will receive the award. Planned Parenthood is awarding Leader Pelosi the Margaret Sanger Award, the organization’s highest honor, “in recognition of her leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions to” the pro-abortion movement during her career.”

“On behalf of Planned Parenthood and the millions of patients we serve each year, it gives me great pleasure to announce that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will receive the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Margaret Sanger Award, our highest recognition of leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement,” said Cecile Richards, President, Planned Parenthood Federation of America.”

  7. CHRISTINE says:

THE NATIONAL CATHOLIC COMMITTEE FOR GIRL SCOUTS U.S.A. AND CAMP FIRE U.S.A.:
    About the Organizations
“Does GSUSA have a relationship with Planned Parenthood?”
No, Girl Scouts of the USA does not have a relationship or partnership with Planned Parenthood. Parents or guardians make all decisions regarding program participation that may be of a sensitive nature. Consistent with that belief, GSUSA directs councils, including volunteer leaders, to get written parental permission for any locally planned program that could be considered sensitive.
“The sale of Girl Scout cookies goes to support abortions and/or Planned Parenthood.”
This is not true. The sale of Girl Scout cookies supports the councils and troops that sell them.

  8. CHRISTINE says:

“Girl Scouting does not promote Christian values.”
This is not true. Read the position paper that explains the GSUSA commitment to Christian values within Girl Scouting. Girl Scouts promotes the girls’ achievement of their individual faith’s recognitions and encourages them to proudly wear the medals on the front of their vests.

I seem to remember, not too long ago on this Site, persons who tried to draw attention to the decay of the Girl Scouts of Amerika drawing fire from many circles. “What goes around comes around”!

May God have mercy on an amoral Amerika!
      Viva Cristo Rey!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,

  9. Kenneth Fisher says:

    Christine,

TAKE YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND! The Girl Scouts’ “leadership” sold out long before the Boy Scouts!

May God have mercy on an amoral Amerika!
    Viva Cristo Rey!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher, Former 30+ year Scouter

    • Kenneth Fisher, now I’m confused. If Christine is taking quotes from a Catholic website dedicated to scouting, are you saying that (Catholic) group is lying to us?
In this day and age, it’s hard to know where the truth lies — no pun intended.
I’d like to know if the Vatican, or the American Bishops, have made any official statements about whether our children should get involved with scouting or not.

      • Kenneth Fisher says:

        Michael,

The Vatican and the American Bishops haven’t even insisted on enforcing Canon Law, ended the scandalous REC, stopped making BAD appointments to Archdiocese, and Diocese, and you expect them to take on the now very corrupt Scouting Industry, yes that is what it has become, an Industry with all of the corruptness of the evil Industries. Have you ever checked out the prices at the Scout Shops? I have, and they disgust me!

I gave over 30 years of my Life to the BSA, how many have you given?

May God have mercy on an amoral Amerika!
        Viva Cristo Rey!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
        Kenneth M. Fisher

    • I have not bought Girl Scouts cookies for at least ten or more years because of the liberal bent at the top. I used to buy Boy Scout popcorn and give them extra money, but our children and grandchildren have always gone camping with our own family. We also took nephews and nieces and other adult family members along during our children’s younger years. Too many parents pay others or are taxed to do now what they once did and should have done themselves. The government sucks more money out of families in taxes, which often forces both parents to work; then tells them THEY will provide all the outings at public schools and so forth. Not good most of the time. Our family has almost always taken our own to parks, museums, aquariums, camping, etc. and often go along with like minded friends. Many church groups offer discounts for aquariums and such activites if one belongs to their groups. Once anything becomes too big, corruption always enters the picture, so I like to put my money at the local level as much as possible.

“Where The Truth Lies” = as good a motto for the Age of Abomination as any.

BTW – have the Radical Gender Feminist ‘Gyrl Skouts’ come up with a new Gender Policy about Boys who are supposed to be Gyrls, at least if you follow the Law of the CA Legislature and its Larry Brinkin Power Posse?

Regarding the above ‘Destruction of Gender Laws’ – Be Careful – Repeating the following could lead to Jail Time for Thought Crime – at least in ‘progressive’ states like CA & MA – where the Larry Brinkin Posse overrides Science (XX & XY – Only Two) in service of Pederasty, er, um, uh, ‘tolerance’…

    • Anonymous says:

Why do you write “Gyrl Skouts” in such an insulting way?
If you hate women, and also girls, that’s your problem — and it’s pretty obvious.

  11. Girl Scout Cookies are not the only products pro-lifers should boycott. How many of us realize that there are other everyday food items developed and discovered by the use of Aborted Fetal Cell Lines.
Nestle Refrigerator Coffee Creamers are developed this way! Yuck!
In addition some of our vaccines include aborted fetal cells! A Catholic non-profit organization called “Children of God for Life” is trying to expose this. You can get information on this and more at http://www.cogforlife.org/

    • Texan4Life says:

Very true Tracy – but few groups that we would consider boycotting do not have direct influence on over 2 million girls in the United States – which makes Girl Scouts USA a very unique boycott target.
