Open lesbian still teaching at Pleasanton parish

Regina Stoops, Diane Berry, Roy Cook, Tim Roach, and kids – from StraightintoGay website

On June 28, the Pleasanton Weekly in the diocese of Oakland carried the story “Same-sex couples celebrate in Pleasanton.”

Some excerpts:

“My partner Tim and I have been together 18 years,” said Roy Cook, a longtime Pleasanton resident. Cook and Tim Roach have been married twice, once in 2004 when San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom permitted gay marriages, and again in 2008 when gay marriage was permitted briefly after an earlier Supreme Court ruling.

Sandra J. Wing said she was glad she and her partner Gracie Santos would “receive the 1,100 federal benefits that were denied us.”

Not mentioned in the story was another couple included in a photograph with the print version of the story – Regina Stoops and Diane Berry.

There is more on Stoops and Berry from the GayintoStraightAmerica website, May 4, 2006.

“….From there we headed to the home of Regina Stoops and Diane Berry, a committed couple for 16 years.  Regina is the “Catholic comedian,” whose humor kept Dotti in stitches at WOW 2000, the “Welcome our Witness” conference of 1200 people from welcoming and affirming churches from around the United States.  Regina’s website is Regina’s humor connects with a wide range of audiences and has led to event performances as diverse as Catholic Diocese Fundraisers, Teacher’s Workshops, Gay and Lesbian Film Festivals and Corporate Retreats.  With Diane “bearing the babies” and working the corporate scene, and Regina being the “stay at home” mom…

“Regina and Diane have two beautiful children, Ryan (3 years old) and Jack (18 months).  They also have another baby on the way!  This child is due in July. What can we say…being Catholic, they don’t believe in birth control! (:

“Seriously, the donor is a magnificent man named Roy.  He and his partner, Tim, who got married in San Francisco and have been a couple for 12 years, came over for dinner on Saturday evening.”

Most relevant to Catholics, is the fact that Regina Stoops is still listed on the website of the Catholic Community of Pleasanton as a coordinator of the Faith Formation Program. Stoops’ affiliation with the Catholic church in Pleasanton goes back at least 15 years, when her pastor, Father Dan Danielson, intended to perform a lesbian wedding for her and her partner on May 9, 1998. (A protest by local Catholics kept this from happening.) Father Danielson was elected by diocesan consultors to run the diocese after Bishop Vigneron was appointed to Detroit.

  1. Anyone notice that not one of a succession of bishops rids this own diocese of scandal? Obviously this is not only happening in Oakland, but virtually everywhere. Are the bishops all so afraid that if they act, their own homosexual priests will leave, too? They’re already thumbing their nose to authority (the bishops) and ignoring their promises as priests, what else do you want them to become, pseudo-Catholic politicians like Pelosi?

    • The parish in Pleasanton has been a mess for a very long time and basically represents everything wrong with the Oakland Diocese. Bob, you are so right; Bishop Cummins started the rot by appointing Fr. Danielson; Bishop Vigneron replaced him with Fr. Padraig (Patrick) Greene, who in 1999 was arrested for masterbating in a public restroom (Fr. Greene recently left on a sabatical; right…). Bishop Cordileone had no support and apparently did not have the will to make needed changes. Now we have Bishop Barber. We shall see, but his giving communion to Jerry Brown at his installation was not a good sign.

      • Barber and Brown are in the same secret society, the public face of which is “Jesuit”… linguistic analysis reveals that today the word “jesuit” is a substitution for the original name “Jesuit”. Today it is a mix of two words, one being “Jezabel” and the other being “wit”; hence, today’s Jesuits are Jezabel witted demoniac fiends purposed to destroy all God’s work. They seem to specialize in destroying the poor by feeding them in exchange for exchanging Christ for Marx.

        • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Wrong, Skai, once again. Linguistic analysis indicates that “jesuit” comes from Society of Jesus.

    • Bwangi Kilonzo says:

Its probably more serious than that.

True Christian Shephards who actually believe what indeed the Catholic Church teaches would walk through hot coal for the souls in their care.

  2. Anne T. says:

Oh, please! those children did not get here by two women or two men. It takes a man and a woman to tango.

  3. This is causing me to have reverse peristalsis.

  4. friscoeddie says:

Open clergy serve in EVERY diocese in USA.

    • friscofasteddie, “open” is the entire objective of Vatican Council II … you’re being exposed. The big roundup is not far away. Repent and follow Jesus.

  5. Elizabeth says:

    Not only sad but sickening!!!!

    Where is the diocese????????

  6. St. Christopher says:

This is wrong in so many ways! First, it is the attitudes of clergy, like Fr. Danielson, that make many many people simply wonder why they are Catholic. The Church cannot tolerate priests like this, or parisoners that should know better than to foist themselves off on a local parish as faithful Catholics. Second, the story described, about joyful homosexual men and lesbian women sharing sperm over their linguini and wine, is awful. And, the local parish should highlight how awful the story truly is. Think of the horrid atmosphere of raising children by lesbians, while they chirp away about one is the “Dad” and one is the “Mom”. Where is the Church telling people that this is the sort of thing that separates an increasingly pagan society, and the Church founded by Christ. Jesus never approved of sinful behavior. He often forgave gross immorality, but always said to avoid sin in the future. Everyone sins, but social sexual sins must be highlighted and shown to be the evil that they are. If not, why pretend that there is a Catholic Church that stands for anything other than bingo, or sappy-happy talk on Sunday? Third, whoever keeps this lesbian woman in any capacity representing the parish needs to be discharged. This remedy includes the priest, or bishop, that tolerates such behavior. Many people are increasingly asking how many souls are threatened, if not lost, due to the scandal of tolerating, if not exalting, behavior such as shown by this lesbian person/couple and her/their connection to the local parish.

    • Catherine says:

Another example of compromise, by coddling mortal sin and enabling the “wound” that is WOUNDING THE ENTIRE BODY OF CHRIST.

Only a few Catholics know of Our Lady of Akita but the message, like that of Fatima, is a specific warning of worldwide chastisement. The chastisement threatened is truly terrible – far worse than the possibility of annihilation of several nations prophesied at Fatima. Akita is absolutely consistent with prophecies of Scripture.
The first message received by Sister Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa on June 6, 1973, was a call for prayer and sacrifice for the glory of the Father and salvation of souls. The second message, August 3, 1973, was for prayer, penance and courageous sacrifices to soften the Father’s anger.
The third message on October 13, 1973, the actual anniversary of the final visions and miracle of Fatima is as follows: “As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son. Each day, recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and the priests. The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, and bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their Confreres. The Church and altars will be vandalized. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.
“The demon will rage especially against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will no longer be pardon for them.”

      • John Drury jr says:

So true Catherine!! I know the messages and we are heading in that direction. Pope Francis will shake things up and many priests and liberal catholics will leave the church and attack it because its not their vision of what it is to be. May God have mercy on us and pick up the rosary and pray for the Pope, the church and your families.

Did you get interrupted before you could finish the message?

And many are asking about how many souls are lost each day to judging what is only for God to judge. When you get this, you will be on a true spiritual path, and not a false one.

      • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

        Cowardly Annonymous,

I will bank on my spiritual path and not your compromised one.

Have you ever read the whole passage on “judge not lest ye be judged”?

May God have mercy on your compromised soul,
        Kenneth M. Fisher

        • Abeca Christian says:

          Mr Fisher you are right, this Anony is actually preaching tolerance of the worst kind. Archbishop Fulton Sheen preached about this great evil that is being pushed on many; Here it is, lets get the word out. So Anony and other dissenters would stop preaching the untruth with their deceptive ways;

“Tolerance is an attitude of reasoned patience toward evil … a forbearance that restrains us from showing anger or inflicting punishment. Tolerance applies only to persons … never to truth. Tolerance applies to the erring, intolerance to the error … Architects are as intolerant about sand as foundations for skyscrapers as doctors are intolerant about germs in the laboratory. Tolerance does not apply to truth or principles. About these things we must be intolerant, and for this kind of intolerance, so much needed to rouse us from sentimental gush, I make a plea. Intolerance of this kind is the foundation of all stability.”
          ― Fulton J. Sheen

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

      St. Christopher,

As one who is working along with a real priest with two men who were molested as Altar Boys, I can attest that the damage is almost unlimited and many, far too many souls, are destroyed by this DEMONIC behavior. All one has to do is read the comments by some of them on this very Website to know that.

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

  7. juergensen says:

As Cardinal Ratzinger said days before being elected pope, there is much “filth” in the Church that needs to be cleaned out.

    • Excuse me Mr. Juergensen. “Open” or not, I AM NOT FILTH!. Neither is Ms. Stoops. We are your sisters in Christ, sinners thought we (and you and all of us) my be! Now I’ll have to have a second glass of wine with dinner and pray that the Lord takes away my anger!

      • Sugar, you’re saying that anger is wrong but sodomy is right? Yep, by your own words you condemn yourself as the “filth” that you say does not exist. Clean up your act.

      • juergensen says:

Sweetie, practicing and propagating homosexuality is worse than filth – it is a mortal sin.

      • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

You are angry because you don’t want to recognize the Truth! You would tell St. Paul to go to Hell!

May God have mercy on your compromised soul,
        Kenneth M. Fisher

      • Abeca Christian says:

C&H it is not you who is the filth, for your dignity of a human souls is worth everything to our Lord but it is the filth of sins and actions or words taken or said that are being condoned and causing scandal on many souls that are filth…please know the difference before you so easily get offended. Don’t allow pride to close your eye’s to the truth, be open to it…..pride will stop you from asking Jesus to take you into His kingdom. The prideful will not seek God, they will continue to live in deception.

“A dying man asked a dying man for eternal life; a man without possessions asked a poor man for a Kingdom; a thief at the door of death asked to die like a thief and steal Paradise. One would have thought a saint would have been the first soul purchased over the counter of Calvary by the red coins of Redemption, but in the Divine plan it was a thief who was the escort of the King of kings into Paradise. If Our Lord had come merely as a teacher, the thief would never have asked for forgiveness. But since the thief’s request touched the reason of His coming to earth, namely, to save souls, the thief heard the immediate answer:

‘I promise thee, this day thou shalt be
        With Me in Paradise’
        (Luke 23:43)

It was the thief’s last prayer, perhaps even his first. He knocked once, sought once, asked once, dared everything, and found everything. When even the disciples were doubting and only one was present at the Cross, the thief owned and acknowledged Him as Saviour.”
― Fulton J. Sheen, Life of Christ

      like gossip?

      • “gossip” is a bureaucratic construct, developed to keep the evil doings of corrupt clerics hidden in darkness.

    • Anonymous says:

In the book “Light of the World” p 23 he uses the word “filth” to refer to the cases of sexual abuse by priests and religious. He is talking not about the people but about the acts. He discusses homosexuality on pages 151-153. He never uses the word “filth”.

      • Pope Francis is telling us that the Roman Curia is loaded with corruption in the form of gay lobbyists. How has the corruption of the highest Vatican organization affected the CCC2ndEdition?

  8. Don’t these people go to confession? Maybe they don’t consider homosexuality a sin. Have they ever read the Bible? Why does the Bishop condone homosexual priests? Those priests should be laicized, maybe the bishop, too. It would be better to have fewer priests than to allow evil priests to lead other people into sin. God have mercy!

    • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Sarah, homosexuality, that is the attraction of a person to one of the same sex, is NOT a sin. At least not according to the Catholic Church.

      • So Not-YFC, How about living in a homosexual relationship which you have freely admitted? That, according to the Church, IS a sin. How about promoting homosexual behavior, thereby, leading others into grave error, which you do regulary on this website? That, according to the Church, IS a sin. How about presenting yourself for communion while in a state of sin, which you have admitted? That, according to the Church, IS a mortal sin.

      • YFC, your claim that homosexuality is no sin is not a magisterial doctrine. Jesus says if you look at a woman with lust, then you have sinned. Thus, if you look at someone of the same sex as you and do so with lust, then dude you have committed an act of sodomy and are in deep doo doo at that point.

        • Your Fellow Catholic says:

SKAI, if you reread Cardinal Ratzinger’s letter to the Bishops of the church in October of 198?6 on homosexuality, you will see that he, speaking on behalf of the Pope, agrees with me that homosexuality as I explained is not itself a sin. Please read the magisterial documents before claiming untrue things.

      • Abeca Christian says:

YFC here is something to think more deeply about from a very holy Archbishop Fulton Sheen:

“Just as sex is a God-given instinct for the prolongation of the human race, so the desire for property as a prolongation of one’s ego is a natural right sanctioned by natural law. A person is free on the inside because he can call his soul his own; he is free on the outside because he can call property his own. Internal freedom is based upon the fact that “I am”; external freedom is based on the fact that “I have.” But just as the excesses of flesh produce lust, for lust is sex in the wrong place, so there can be a deordination of the desire for property until it becomes greed, avarice, and capitalistic aggression.”
― Fulton J. Sheen, Life of Christ

        • Your Fellow Catholic says:

OK, Abeca, if you like Sheen, fine, read on. I’ve never found him to be someone who speaks to me. Just want you to know I’ll skip over all your quotations by him from now on. He is not an authoritative voice in the Church.

          • Abeca Christian says:

YFC Pride is an ugly thing….isn’t it? They say that pride is the root of all evil. But you are wrong as well about Bishop Fulton Sheen….I’ll continue to pray for you.

I’m a hopeless romantic YFC, sometimes I romanticize about the conversion of all sinners and I can’t help but still have hope for you. I see the stars and the sky, they are beautiful. How everything is in place, in natural order. YFC you still have in you, that small boy that once looked up to the heavens with awe, that precious young lad that never questioned God’s love nor did he go astray. I understand the adult years can make or break our souls by the choices we make, the free will to mankind. There is nothing more to life than wanting eternity with our Lord. I hope to meet up with Fulton Sheen and all of God’s saints. I don’t know if I am worthy but I pray for Jesus blood to heal me and save me. I pray the same for you. A hardened heart can only go so long until it will be broken, everything has it’s end. But with our Lord, the truth is forever.

Its OK YFC if you ignore those precious quotes from a very Holy Archbishop, because they do not go in vein, someone else who wish to embrace more of God’s graces will soak them in. Humility is that in action. I can understand if I was saying harmful things to you that caused destruction to your soul, then I beg all to ignore anything that leads a soul to hell but when holy words are said, they are pearls and we must not be the ones who take them for granted…..PAX CHRISTI… : )

          • Abeca Christian says:

YFC then find someone who is holy and devout to the faith…that does speak to you. : ) It’s OK at least you are honest right? Then lets pray for the Holy Ghost to hand over to you someone that will speak to you…lets being with Jesus! He loves you, you know. (but I must ask you to be open about it or else you will simply keep missing what matters the most)

    • Abeca Christian says:

Sarah don’t learn your catechism on homosexuality from YFC….just a warning

      • Abeca Christian says:

Sarah he is still learning though… he teachable….only time will tell….In Jesus we pray.

  9. Anton L Seidl says:

Pastors like Father Dan Danielson are wolves in sheepskins. They are the worst of all conceivable afflictions.
If I were a member of his parish, I would find another church, NOW! How depraved must their fellow parishioners be to tolerate such unsavory perverts in their midst? There should be a mass exodus from this parish.

    • A top level Vatican bureaucrat was just busted for being a member of the gay lobby. The Pope, apparently tricked by the gay temple prostitution ring in the Vatican, convinced the Pope to install this scum bag cardinal as a Vatican bank representative of the Pope. Or, in an analytically speculative vein, the Pope made a brilliant outing move on the gay lobby by thus profiling that filth for all to see. The Pope needs the faithful help of all good men and women to rid the Church of the deviants such as TEM, YFC, PA, and their fellow sodomite lobbyists. This means that many laity who abet and slaver over these demented perverts will have to go also. Gird up and make it happen.

      • Your Fellow Catholic says:

How can The Pope convince The Pope?

        Beer and popcorn again, Skai?

        • It’s a papal mystery, YFC. Definitely not beer and popcorn. A. I don’t drink beer that early in the day. B. I’ve given up popcorn for Lent.

    • Abeca Christian says:

I agree Anton…God bless you for your strong convictions! They are honorable but first we must have an uproar in charity. Here is a wonderful teaching on what Archbishop Fulton Sheen taught about lukewarm and how dangerous it is:

“Since the basic cause of man’s anxiety is the possibility of being either a saint or a sinner, it follows that there are only two alternatives for him. Man can either mount upward to the peak of eternity or else slip backwards to the chasms of despair and frustration. Yet there are many who think there is yet another alternative, namely, that of indifference. They think that, just as bears hibernate for a season in a state of suspended animation, so they, too, can sleep through life without choosing to live for God or against Him. But hibernation is no escape; winter ends, and one is then forced to make a decision—indeed, the very choice of indifference is itself a decision. White fences do not remain white fences by having nothing done to them; they soon become black fences. Since there is a tendency in us that pulls us back to the animal, the mere fact that we do not resist it operates to our own destruction. Just as life is the sum of forces that resist death, so, too, man’s will must be the sum of the forces that resist frustration. A man who has taken poison into his system can ignore the antidote, or he can throw it out the window; it makes no difference which he does, for death is already on the march. St. Paul warns us, “How shall we escape it we neglect so great a salvation” (Heb 2:3). By the mere fact that we do not go forward, we go backward. There are no plains in the spiritual life, we are either going uphill or coming down. Furthermore the pose of indifference is only intellectual. The will must choose. And even though an “indifferent” soul does not positively reject the infinite, the infinite rejects it. The talents that are unused are taken away, and the Scriptures tell us that, “But because though art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth” (Rev. 3:16).”
― Fulton J. Sheen, Peace of Soul: Timeless Wisdom on Finding Serenity and Joy by the Century’s Most Acclaimed Catholic Bishop

  10. Thomas Edward Miles says:

There is “FILTH” in the church and it is the far right wing!!!

    • TEM, you misspelled “gay lobby” by writing “far right wing”. BTW, the gay lobby is neither wing, has nothing to do at all with the Church and is a demonic force that attacks God and creation.

    • Well, ya know Thomas, we didn’t make the rules. Our Lord, Jesus, gave us the blueprint for salvation. So I guess you’re saying if we right wingers are trying to follow Jesus’ teachings, we’re filth and that would make Him filth. As a side note, it’s not just homosexual behavior that’s condemned. Heterosexuals are commanded to live chaste lives too. As Jesus said, “Do you not know that your body, created by God, is the temple of the Holy Spirit?”

    • Anonymous says:

No it’s not; it is sin. Everyone’s.

      • The “filth” in the Church refers to the homosexuals who are the mascot for the corruption, the lackeys of the devil. Anonymous, your brief and yet false statement belies your utter lack of understanding of Catholicism. You’re always insinuating that there is no salavation, no redemption, no reparation … that no one can flee sin. But Jesus teaches that we flee sin by turning from it and following Him. This fact never gets through to you, time after time you ignore it when it is presented to you.

        • Anonymous says:

Skai, Of course, people can flee sin. Of course there is salvation, redemption and reparation. That is what the Catholic Church is about.

          • Abeca Christian says:

Anony you are crooked, no pun intended but why aren’t you correcting TEM? I see how you fly…pretty deceiving of you….it’s OK by you if a pro-gay rights person bashes people of faith you are silent but you are targeting people of faith by causing confusion when you feel the need to take the splinter out of their eye’s…can you see how indifferent you are?

    • Pope Franics calls the “filth in the Church” the corruption of the gay lobby infesting the Roman Curia. So, TEM, get your facts straight, even if you can’t get your soul straight.

  11. As always, where are the Bishops ?

  12. How can you tell if your Bishop is gay? When they condone activity like this. Wake up Catholics!

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

  13. Marggie says:

If the Bishops are not acting on this why is not someone going higher up, such as informing the Pope, in order to expose such priests and the scandal they perpetuate?

    • The Pope knows there is a corrupt gay problem of critical proportions in the Church, Marggie, including in the Roman Curia. He has asked the faithful to find a way to get rid of these wicked souls. The Pope does not have a magic wand, nor can he get God to send down fire from Heaven. So, he is stuck with us having to find a way to do it. God can send many scourges, if only we’d get out of the way.

      • Anonymous says:

Oh skai you make up so much stuff!

      • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Where? Where o where, Dear Skai has the pope said ANY of these things? Please stop making up things, especially things that can drive people to do extreme things like anti gay hate violence and teen suicide. Please please post more responsibly.

  14. Why can’t the cardinals, bishops, priests and parishioners who want to clean up the parishes and have the Truth taught form an organization that would work to do just that. Separately we are spread out and ineffective, but there is power in the Truth and in numbers. I don’t see why there is so much fear and hesitation among leadership. It is going to be cleaned up by us or it is going to be cleaned up by God. I think the less destructive way would be by us.

    • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Oh lisag, thank you for being SO much more compassionate than God.

      • Exactly, YFC, the faithful Catholic being the mystical Body of Christ, serves the same purpose as Christ who came into this world to bring life instead of the death of judgment. We, the faithful in Christ, are the mercy of God in the way that Jesus is the mercy of God.

      • YFC it has to do with punishment. If God decides to punish the church for her errant sinful ways it will rain down on all of us. If man does not reclaim the church for the Truth we could expect much destruction as warned by Our Blessed Mother from Fatima, Akita and other messages from her. It is not that man is more compassionate that God. God as a loving Father must stop His children from destroying the essence of man and the earth.

        • “If God decides to punish the church for her errant sinful ways it will rain down on all of us” This directly contradicts Our Lady’s words to Bishop Ito: “Those who place their confidence in me will be saved.” In Genesis 18:32, God clearly says about Sodom and Gomorrah: “I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten.”
The idea that we have to get rid of “filth” lest an angry deity cause all of us calamity is the basis for most of the early Church’s persecution. Pagans were very afraid of their gods, and believed that the Christians (whom they called “atheists”) would cause everyone else to be punished.
Let’s not behave like the pagans of 2000 years ago. Let’s be Christians instead.

  15. Tanya Wersinger says:

housecleaning is in order. The bishop needs to get moving on this “case”. What a scandal.

  16. are you joking? that’d be like Obama nominating Rand Paul to be his advisor. he believes everything contrary to what Obama does. why does the church allow sodomites and apostates to continue on in positions of leadership?

  17. life lady says:

With all the warnings given by Our Lady we are all at fault for ignoring her and her pleadings for prayer. I recently lost my mother, to a stroke, but she prayed, daily, the Rosary, all 20 mysteries (being obedient to the Church, she included those instituted by JPII) and during her passion of dying, (throughout May, the entire month) even though she was paralyzed, she had use of her right arm and she would bless herself, almost constantly, and all this without opening her eyes or being able to speak or swallow. By THAT example, I have to admit that her prayers were urgently given for the Church, the bishops and the Pope, because I asked her to pray for them, and she promised to include them in her daily prayers. She lived long enough to see her 89th birthday and her death and burial were further testimony to the power of prayer, and the urgent need for us all to answer that call. We are not called to pray for effect. We are called to pray for the souls of others. I believe that the call to pray for others, and the dire warnings of what will happen, are warnings about our own salvation if we do not pray at all. God will do His Will, whatever that is. The world was not meant to last forever, but our own souls do, which makes this fleeting life here on Earth even more of a opportunity to help us save our souls, and the souls of others. So, bottom line, pray, unceasingly for all the Church, the Body of Christ, and ask for our salvation and that of others who are most in need, whoever that may be.

    • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Thank you for this beautiful if sad story about your mother.

May the Perpetual Light Shine upon the soul of Life Lady’s mother. Thank you for your post about the importance of prayer. What a beautiful testimony to your mother’s love for all souls. How very inspiring to see your mother making the sign of the cross and showing her deep faith and complete trust in God in the midst of her own personal trial and suffering.

God answered them and only He will understand why or what the outcome will be, we trust in His will. May your mum rest in peace and God give you strength and courage while here on earth.

My heart is with you through prayer. For prayer is medicine and healing and most important our way to stay united with our Lord, it is beautiful connection and communication with our Lord, being alone with Him, and only Him. Your mum persevered in prayer because she found her joy there, she felt comfort and strength. God bless you. : )

    P-Town Down Turn
I am a Refugee from the CCOP, and resigned from the Parish some time ago – Despite having made my Confirmation at St. Augustine in 1970.

My departure was primarily the result of political activism Against the Church by Mr. Danielson (who demanded Obedience to his Authority, if Not the Pope’s), who once informed me that neither I Nor the Teachings of the Pope (JP2 at the time) or the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith (Cardinal Ratzinger at the time) – or anybody else who dared disagree with ole dan and his ‘happy’ pandering agenda – was welcome anywhere on the grounds.

For those unfamiliar with the story of Mr. Greene, before he was appointed Pastor to succeed Danielson – one of his most notable resume ‘qualifications’ was that he was previously arrested in a Boys Restroom at a Youth Sports Park committing a Lewd Act in front of a boyish looking undercover cop. SAADly- it wasn’t until later on that the Parish was informed (by Outsiders) of Paddy’s penchant for Pederasty.

Strangely – although the radical homosex party line is that the ‘orientation’ is immutable, and in CA it is now against the ‘Law’ to try to provide therapy for SSAD (same sex attraction disorder) – the Church allegedly provided ‘Therapy’ to Greene for his Pederast predilections – and then put him back in charge of the ‘Pederast candy store’ too many Parishes became – to Our Great Shame.

Mind – and this is important. We are All Sinners, and without the chance to Repent and Change, We are All Lost. However, as with a book keeper who embezzles from the Parish funds and then repents, so too a Priest who Stalks the Boys Toilet…
Neither should be denied the chance to repent, but neither should be promoted to a place where the same situation can occur again – whether the book keeper gets a new job as head of accounting, or the hinky ‘Priest’ gets to be the new Pastor – and an example and guide for youth (particularly Boys) in the Parish.

Hence – the recent report about the CCOP Supporting Separatist / Neo- Exterminationist MISANDRY (Hatred of Men & Boys, Masculinity and Normal Heterosexuality) through the hateful heresy of ‘Turkey Baster Creationism’…
    – and pogroms to promote deliberate denial of a Father to Boys, because the Mother wants to make a political statement about ‘P-ns Free Procreation’ as the road to create “A World Devoid of Men”…

    - Is just what you would expect from what has sadly become one of the most Anti-Catholic of all the Parishes I know of, although I must admit that Saint Columba on the Berzerkely border does a pretty messed up job of pushing the ‘Womyn-priest’ porgom of Misandry itself.

Lord Above Have Mercy – Indeed.
But it is time to get some New Watchman down here on Earth, and beef up the campfires to shine some light in the dark places where Evil likes to hide; even if aided by squeamish Censors who don’t want to upset the Sunday collection – which they use the rest of the week to harm the same Faithful in the Pews who donated it.

Father Padraig Greene …returned to the diocese five years ago when Bishop John Cummins was still in charge, as an assistant pastor at St. Augustine’s in Pleasanton. St. Augustine’s or rather the Catholic Community of St. Augustine’s in Pleasanton has been under the direction of that fine upstanding Catholic, Fr. Dan Danielson.

Danielson has now retired and current Bishop Allan Vigneron has raised Greene to the Pastor’s position. He has even gone to the unusual lengths of having a statement of support for Greene’s appointment published in the Catholic Voice.

    The statement declares, in part:
“Repentant and desiring to put his life back in order, Father Greene spent several months dealing with this dark moment through extensive therapy and a program of spiritual renewal at a center in St. Louis.”

Checking with the Pleasanton Police Department indicates that they are aware of Fr. Greene especially following a public demonstration outside the church by SNAP members.
A spokesperson for the police department said that Fr. Greene is not considered to be one who must register as a sex offender.

    Well, that’s good.

The Bishop’s statement concludes with this declaration:

“The Diocese of Oakland holds as one of the highest concerns the protection and safety of children and all parishioners, and is confidence in the ministry Father Green will continue to bring to the people of Pleasanton.”

The Diocese has had to pay out the usual millions of dollars for lawsuits brought by victims of sexual abuse instigated by other priests in the Diocese. So much for high regard for the safety of children.

Thank you Mr. McDermott for shining the light on this tragic parish.

For the homosexuals or Marxists it is much simpler to infect an already existing institution and turn it to their own agenda. What takes hundreds of years to build can be taken relatively quickly. That was the evil genius of Saul Alinsky.

    SSAD State of Affairs
Some seeking to attribute the ‘Turkey Baster Creationist’ pogrom producing intentionally ‘Fatherless / Motherless Children – to SSAD (same sex attraction disorder) Affairs, fail to allow for the alternative explanation that these fraudsters are simply motivated by Simple Hate – toward Men, and will do anything they can to Destroy the hated ‘Y-DNA BioManPigOppressor Patriarchy’ – including “De-Manning” Male Parenting to nothing more than providing Anonymous ‘donor material’ in a kitchen syringe.
Robert O Lopez has some great insights in to this pogrom, as does Mike McManus:
Growing Up With Two Moms: The Untold Children’s View – By Robert Oscar Lopez 8/6/12
The children of same-sex couples have a tough road ahead of them—I know, because I have been there. The last thing we should do is make them feel guilty if the strain gets to them and they feel strange

Same-Sex Parenting: Child Abuse? by Robert Oscar Lopez 7/8/13

Single-parenting and divorce have always been understood as a breakdown of the married mom and dad ideal, but the demand to view same-sex parenting as “normal” imposes a silence on children about the wound caused by the loss of one parent or the other…

After having spent the last year involved in the debate about same-sex parenting, I can say the following with great confidence: both sides of the same-sex marriage debate are afraid of naming child abuse by same-sex couples. The issue is so raw and painful that even critics of same-sex parenting are scared to go there…

Worst of all is a same-sex parenting home that arose because two homosexuals contrived the situation knowingly, in order to experience parenting.
These are cases in which divorce was initiated by a gay spouse, with the explicit goal of setting up a new gay parenting household, and then custody was transferred (often in an ugly family court process).
Or where lesbians went to a sperm bank. Or where two homosexuals began a lifelong relationship with the intent of adopting and then sought adoption on-demand.
Or worst of all, two gay men engaged in a surrogacy contract with a woman who sold them her baby.

Exclusive: Mike McManus shows children of same-sex parents fare poorly
Conventional wisdom is that children of same-sex parents do as well as, or even better than children from intact, two-parent married households. Many studies make that assertion.

It is massively wrong according to a new, very large, thorough study published this week by the journal Social Science Research. It was written by Mark Regnerus, a scholar at the University of Texas. The New Family Structures Study, or NFSS, is a breakthrough report.

Regnerus compares how young adult children, aged 18-39, of a parent who has had a same-sex relationship fare on 40 different social, emotional and relational outcomes when compared with traditional and other families.
The biggest differences were between children of women who have had a lesbian relationship – and those raised by still-married biological parents…

What’s most shocking is that only two percent of those with married parents were ever touched sexually by a parent or an adult – while 23 percent of those with a lesbian mother had that experience! Golly, they are 11 times more apt to be molested!

Sometimes we can curse with our own words even if it is not a direct one. We must persevere with prayer. Praying for, as painful as it may be at times, for those who persecute us and our faith, for those who allow scandal. The ones who are scandalized, are only scandalized and living in sin is because they are being enabled by many. This false compassion one has is actually scandalizing many souls and that is a serious sin. We need to pray for the blood of Jesus to cleanse this great evil, His blood to heal us. With prayer all is possible. yes as much as we like to remind many what has been said about Bishops, we are still handed that responsibility of love, true love which leads us towards humility and prayer.

Warning others about the wrong doings permitted, then yes that is true charity and must be done, if we are people of faith who pray, then we must also follow up with righteous actions in Christ! Pray and take action!

  21. What a strange and really weird ‘news’ story. It’s like a small town version of “Nat’l Enquirer” without the shame element. Talk about airing your dirty linen in public! Doesn’t anyone have a sense of modesty or privacy anymore? Why do they feel compelled to advertise their kinky proclivities to the world? So they think they’re okay…who without a conscience does not? This article doesn’t warrant any commentary other than I wish people would just shut up and get on with their lives and leave us out of it. ugh.

  22. debra jones says:

There are Holy priests and their are those priests who have infiltrated the Catholic Church to destroy it from within. They are an elite group known as the Freemasons and were warned against them even back in 1884. Look where it has gotten us! The Soviet Communists infiltrated the Priesthood and Religious just to “introduce” the homosexual” network. Is it any wonder why nearly half, if not the majority of the priests “agree” with this evil, sick and perverted network of a religious nightmare. One shepard did spot this wolf, and was well aware of the masonic and communist infiltration into the church. That was Bishop LeFebvre, and then there was Pope John who after summoning Vatican II, is reported to have expressed regrets. Since then, not only have we looked at the changes that have occurred in our churches, such as removal of our tabernacles, altars, kneelers, statues,
but no longer do we apparently “sin”. The Ten Commandments no longer exist and we socialize now at Mass instead of it being a “sacrifice”. I can no longer say my rosary in peace or kneel before Thy Father on the Cross, because I feel He is no longer there. I believe He is no longer there. And when He IS no longer with us, We as Catholics will divinely have lost everything. Sad really. May we never lose the only hope that one believes so strongly in.

    • Tanya Wersinger says:

Lefevre is not a good indicator of obedience. Jesus is still present in the Church, you need to be careful about what you say.

      • Tanya, the late Archbishop Lefevbre’ bishops are now re-communicated with the Church. How could this be if the excommunication was fully approved by God?

        • Tanya Wersinger says:

My point is obedience. When one is obedient it shows a great deal of humility and it is treasured by God Who is the Author. God had the obedience of Abraham when offering his son in sacrifice; the prefigurement of Jesus Christ offering himself to the Father. Our Lord shows what it means to be obedient; obedient unto death, even death on the Cross. Lefebvre was disobedient , and therefore, like you said, he was excommunicated. He lacked humility in matters of authority, and that being said, so are the couples in the article above. They obey their own authority, which is why they need to be excommunicated, and removed from the parish position. They are a scandal to everyone around. This whole country is shifting into the abyss of sexual immorality. I firmly believe the devil’s tactics are to cause more and more people to sin through sexual immorality this day and age because man is so affected by that lower appetite, it’s rather an easy way to fall. “If it feels good do it”, has been around for quite a while , temperance is almost unknown, and obedience, blinding. Pray.

debra jones, you have been deceived by the evil one. God is everywhere. The Ten Commandments exist now and will always exist. Nobody socializes during the Mass that I attend. Satan does not want you to pray the rosary so pick it up and stick with it for 20 minutes no matter what happens.

      • Yes, everyone should be praying the rosary everyday, especially when in
Adoration. When I’m feeling spiritual dryness, I find it helps to say the rosary with my rosary app pod cast or with the online comepraytherosary . Jesus loves it when we pray even when we don’t ‘feel’ like it, Debra. Sometimes people may be feeling severe depression and if you can just say “I love you, Jesus” or “Help me to love you, Jesus” or even the name of Jesus on each bead will help. God bless you and never forget he loves you so much. He died for you…that’s how much he loves you Debra. Sending you a big hug ((((Debra))))) Jesus said He will neither leave you or forsake you. “This figure upon the Cross is not a MVD agent or a Gestapo inquisitor, but a Divine Physician, Who only asks that we bring our wounds to Him in order that He may heal them. If our sins be as scarlet, they shall be washed white as snow, and if they be as red as crimson, they shall be made white as wool. Was it not He Who told us, “I say to you, that even so there shall be more joy in Heaven upon one sinner that doth penance than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance” (Luke 15:7)? In the story of the prodigal, did He not describe the Father as saying, “Let us eat and make merry: because this my son was dead and is come to life again; was lost and is found” (Luke 15:23, 24)? Why is there more joy in Heaven for the repentant sinner than for the righteous? Because God’s attitude is not judgment but love. In judgment, one is not as joyful after doing wrong as before; but in love, there is joy because the danger and worry of losing that soul is past. He who is sick is loved more than he who is well, because he needs it more. Some will feign sickness to solicit love and pretend wounds that the beloved may bind them.”

Do you trust your fate to people who make a mockery of God and hate the Church and her teachings? I was reacting to this story as an American citizen rather that as a Catholic. As a Catholic, it is very alarming to me that people can choose to live the way they do and not fear for their souls or to feel sadness for offending God.

By their fruits you shall know them…Any wonder how Vatican II and its incredible 16 documents have ruined the church from within, the church wanted a more open and liberal priesthood, well they sure have one now. Before V2 if a seminarian was found to have homosexual tendencies, he was removed, John XXIII did away with that. Two popes were made saints in the entire history of the church, now you have all of the Post V2 popes either canonized or soon to be with John XXIII second miracle thrown away all in a hurry to legitimize a horrible disguise for a church. Find a traditonal SSPX, SSPV, independent, etc-chapel with true canon laws before 1983 that do not grant 50,000 annulments a year and make a mockery out of what is to be the bride of Christ, his Church

    • Jack, your claim of the number of papal saints is false. Papal saints, 78; papal blesseds, 11; papal venerables, 2; papal servants of God, 3. So, 94 popes out of 265 have been raised to a special status, close to one out of three.

His teachings are all beautiful, and correct– but demand great Faith, strength, commitment, and sincerity, of all Christ’s followers! Yes, human beings are weak and “fallen” creatures, since the Fall of Adam and Eve! But so many just do not even try!! And our Church is the very worst, in many cases, to undermine Jesus, and detroy Him, on Earth!! How depressing!

The Catholic Health Association’s relationship with the Obama administration has been lengthy, cozy and, as a result, not extremely helpful to advancing Catholic medical ethics in healthcare. At the same time it is clear that the USCCB appears to be impotent when it comes to chastising CHA and Sister Carol Keehan.

The White House’s continual citing of the CHA reveals the strategy. They intend, in defense of the matter, to contend that the CHA is the competent authority to interpret Church teaching on the mandate. The CHA endorsement, which encompasses the large majority of Catholic health institutions, clearly shows that the Catholic Church is supportive of the mandate. Any remaining objection does not really represent the Church, they will argue.

The bishops have tried to work with the CHA for a long time, to bring them in line, and to have them be more respectful and diligent in protecting Church teaching in health matters. They have failed. The CHA, in this crucial moment for religious freedom in this country, is on the other side. The Catholic Health Association is the enemy.

The bishops must use all their power to push the enemy back. The bishops must kill the CHA. First, the competent ecclesial authorities must remove permission for the CHA to use the word Catholic in their name. This must be done immediately.
The CHA is not Catholic and they must not be allowed to use the name when they are in open opposition to the bishops and Church teaching. This is most especially true with all the pending litigation against the mandate by Catholic institutions.
The bishops cannot allow the Church to seem divided on this question.

Further, each and every bishop should urge…Catholic Health institutions within their dioceses that continued association with the CHA calls into question their commitment to Catholic principles and their affiliation with the Church.

This may seem drastic, but it is necessary. If we are to save truly Catholic healthcare in this country, we must amputate the rotting limbs immediately or risk losing the patient.

Archbold’s words inspired those who put together a petition asking USCCB president, Cardinal Dolan, “and the entire United States Conference of Catholic Bishops [to] immediately remove the designation of ‘Catholic’ from the group heretofore known as the Catholic Health Association of the USA.”

      • Mike, your posts are extraordinarily well informed and helpful. Thank you so much, and God bless you, and please keep sharing!

      • Anton L Seidl says:

Thank you, Michael, for the clarification. I don’t live near Oakland and am having difficulties keeping up with the rapid changes of their bishops. And yet, what is Bishop Barber doing about this rats’ nest in Pleasanton? With respect to the label “Catholic” – I can think of a dozen or more entities that should be stripped of it. My own alma mater Georgetown being on top of the list. Any Jesuit college or university that celebrates gay pride week with obscene drag shows (like Santa Clara U) should be ostracized. No faithful Catholic parent should support such institutions with their hard-earned tuition money. I believe the bishops have no authority over schools run by the Jesuits even if they are within the boundary of their diocese. What distresses me is that most don’t even raise the issue. Their apparent indifference is sinful in itself.

  30. Many of our people seem to think that the rot in the church came about because of the Second Vatican Council. This is not the case. That council has served a dual purpose. The first was to allow the scum, already in the church, to rise to the top of the barrel so it would no longer be hidden from us. The second reason was to set the stage for a new evangelization, one barely starting now. The second purpose can never get off the ground while the hidden rot remained in the church. Read a little church. The church has gone through even greater crises throughout its history. The Lord knows how to purify. Have faith and trust.

    • As a convert I’m not familiar enough with the Church at the time of Vatican II, Stan, but I would have to agree with you as I’ve said before that if there hadn’t been a problem to begin with, all those people who had been raised in traditional Catholicism should have remained faithful, but instead almost immediately began leaving in droves or staying and making a mockery of Church liturgy and traditions. It sounds really off the wall, but I think the problems of Western civ. really began with WWI
when our culture was dealt such a wounding blow that the bleeding that began then has never been completely stopped. I mean, women were wearing dresses to their ankles in 1914, and in a mere ten years were had them up to their knees, and practically transparent, showing their garters and acting wantonly. In the history of Christian civilization women had never been so immodest or so flagrantly anti-family. Something really huge had happened to us and it was not dealt with by the Church but by the government…the church (of Eng.) caved in, as in the Lambeth conf. in 1930 giving the okay to birth control leading the way for all protestant churches. Many think the problems we’re dealing with are all a result of the protestant rebellion in the sixteenth century which has been undermining the Catholic Church since its inception. Whatever the causes, I agree with you Stan, that there were big problems well before Vatican II and frankly, as a woman, I can’t help thinking that feminism is the biggest threat. But that’s another topic entirely. ;o)

      • Dana, have you ever wondered why you were not familiar with the Church prior to your conversion? Could it be that the Church was hidden from everyone else? It was in my case.

        • That’s true, Skai. I had Catholic friends but never once did I ask what they believed or why. It was hidden, indeed. It was only through much prayer for God to lead me to the truth that I came to the Church after years of frustration and sadness about the disintegration of the protestant faith. The truth was almost blinding and I couldn’t believe how I’d missed something so obvious all those years! Thanks, friend.

      • Anton L Seidl says:

Dana: Feminism became the most pernicious and destructive of all the modernist aberrations, You put your finger on it, dear lady. The abortion movement is a direct result of feminism, which was introduced as a civil and human rights issue and therefore shielded from any criticism. All pre-Vatican 2 popes condemned feminism as a modernist heresy, along with Communism and Marxism; all considered to be dangerous philosophies inimical to the social order. The papal declarations were contained in what was called the “syllabus of errors”. The entire syllabus was tossed out at the very beginning of the second council to entice delegates from the eastern bloc countries to attend. Only by compromising our principles were these people allowed to come to Rome by their communist governments. This ecumenical outreach gained us absolutely nothing. We are still suffering from its aftermath today.

        • I’d not heard that about the compromise, Anton. Sad, indeed. It was a socialist expression that “the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world”, because they understood better than most (not the Church, of course) that it was through women that they would take power from the family to focus on building the state. I’ll never forget the last scene in Dr. Zivago when the doctor, who had lived a life of passion and authenticity if not always morally, met the plain and ordinary daughter he’d had with the beautiful Lara. She was a worker for the state, almost like a robot with no passion in her. I would say some of the strongest feminists were women coming of age during the depression…there was strong indoctrination then but it wasn’t brought out overtly…these women passed on mixed messages to their daughters. There wasn’t one woman that I ever heard of that ever spoke out against their daughters using birth control in the sixties. (but I didn’t know Catholics then) And I can’t think of one First Lady (with the exception of Mamie Eisenhower) that has not been a feminist at least since Eleanor Roosevelt. It’s like a religion or a cult that’s difficult to address because it has so many tentacles on so many levels. One tactic is to make beautiful young women like Abeca feel inferior because they chose to stay home as ‘just a stay-at-home mom”. My daughter-in-law is a full-time mom though she has a Biology, and many of her friends do too. There’s a wonderful doctor on EWTN who has organized women who stay home. My own physician quit to stay home with her kids. I didn’t mean to natter on. Sorry.

Dana, I know you are a convert and have only been Catholic for a few years so I feel bad for you. The syllabus of errors had nothing to do with feminism. It was not thrown out before Vatican II. It is silly to even suggest it. Proclamations by the Pope are not ever tossed out. The Pope (after Vatican II) addressed feminism in a Letter on the Collaboration of Men and Women.

    • Anton L Seidl says:

Stan: Think again! The second council was so radical in it zeal to transform the church it ended up nearly destroying it. I recommend you read what I consider to be the definitive analysis of the effects of V2. Entitled “Iota Unum”, it was written by one of the council’s periti by the name Amerio Romano. His book was suppressed for twenty years and did not come out until after its author had passed away. It is truly an eye-opener. It confirms with deadly accuracy what Father Malachi Martin (also a peritus at the council under Cardinal Bea) adumbrated in his novel “Windswept House”.
Please, do yourself a favor and don’t buy all this “Spirit of Vatican Two” malarkey its supporters still spout in the face of massive and incontrovertible evidence of the steep decline of the catholic church beginning almost immediately after the council’s decrees were enacted, altering irrevocably our sacred worship that had held us together as a universal church since the Council of Trent. God bless you!

Thanks for posting this story! Looks like these same-sex couples are a credit to the LBGT community and promote family values that would be worthy of emulation by many heterosexual couples. I am proud to stand with them!

This article is trash….CCD please print more Catholic worthy articles….did we really need to know the website of this gay friendly crap….

  33. Jesus, Mary, Saint Michael, St. Joseph says:

God’s way is the one true way. Stop worrying about what other’s do and worry about yourself. God’s path is the one to follow. Stop following the stray path of gossip and wickedness. If you do your duties and obey God’s laws and pray daily, you will do more to end sinfulness than if you spend your time listening to gossip and writing your judgment on it. Please learn the way of God and of the Mother of God and of the Saints and the obedient angels. The angels do not do things on their own, only those things they have been given to do by the Most High. If God reveals to you a person who is sinning it is so that you can pray for them. Not so you can increase the thorns in his heart by your cruelty to them.

  34. Mary Arnold - Pleasanton says:

What an odd comment by “Jesus, Mary, St Michael, St Joseph” and that’s quite a name to give yourself. We Catholics are called to defend the faith and especially where there are children involved who could be influenced by a religious ed. teacher who is openly defying the faith. That’s why we are the Church Militant; that’s why we are called soldiers of Christ at confirmation. No one cares what these people do in their private lives but when they assume Church teaching positions, and publicly come out in opposition to the Church, then we are called to speak out. Yes we pray for them of course. It’s time for Fr Danielson to be corrected by our good bishop.

    • prudence says:

Mary Arnold-Pleasanton, there are degrees of responsibility. If one has a child in the program or becomes aware of someone who is actually teaching something incorrect, one would be duty bound to correct the error. If the person did not listen, then the pastor should be told. Having a manifest sinner, such as someone who is openly using IVF and in same sex relationship, should be made known to the pastor and if, he is unconcerned, then the diocesan authority should be notified. Then one must defer to their decision. People who become aware of the situation due to internet gossip are not obligated to do anything about it, since it is a sin to gossip and to listen to gossip. If you have no personal knowledge of it, you should stay out of it.

  35. Abeca Christian says:

As I pass by and keep seeing this picture of this dissent type of unnatural families, it breaks my heart that they refuse to repent. But it still goes without saying that they have free will and surely explains well the teachings from our church on free will.

“The good repent on knowing their sin; the evil become angry when discovered. Ignorance is not the cause of evil, as Plato held; neither is education the answer to the removal of evil. These men had an intellect as well as a will; knowledge as well as intention. Truth can be known and hated; Goodness can be known and crucified. The Hour was approaching, and for the moment the fear of the people deterred the Pharisees. Violence could not be triggered against Him until He would say, ‘This is your Hour.”
