Gay pride Sunday – parishioner in tears

Following Prop 8 decision, Jesuit priest celebrates homosexuality

On Wednesday, June 27, the U. S. Supreme Court handed down two decisions – on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Amendment – that eviscerated legal marriage in the United States. The following Sunday thus offered Catholic priests an opportunity to articulate the Church’s definition of what marriage is.

At San Francisco’s St. Ignatius Church, the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 30 was celebrated by the church’s pastor, Father Gregory Bonfiglio, S.J. Father Bonfiglio chose to read a letter written by Father John Whitney, S.J, of St. Joseph’s Church in Seattle. In the letter, titled “Why am I in the parade?” which ran to 1,098 words, Father Whitney justified his presence in Seattle’s Gay Pride parade. The letter was published in St. Joseph’s June 23 parish bulletin. In the letter Father Whitney equated Church teaching on homosexuality with Old Testament dietary restrictions and repeated the long-debunked assertion that the word “faggot” comes from faggot of wood.

From Father Whitney’s letter: “I am going [to the parade] to support the mothers and fathers, the sisters and brothers, the friends and companions of our gay and lesbian parishioners, who have pride in their daughters and sons and who long to have them feel loved and welcomed at the table of Christ and in the body of the Church.”

During Father Bonfiglio’s reading of the letter, the church was eerily quiet. At least one female parishioner was seen leaving the church in tears. When queried, she said, “It’s not his Church! It’s the Catholic Church! I should be able to just go to church! I want to go to a Catholic church!”

In addition to regular parishioners, the Mass was also attended by a family who had come from some distance because the intention of the Mass was for a deceased family member. In addition, a little girl was receiving her First Holy Communion at the Mass. Those families, one in the process of mourning and the second experiencing their daughter’s reception of Jesus Christ for the very first time, were forced to listen to Father Bonfiglio’s opinions.

Father Bonfiglio

Father Bonfiglio and Father Whitney are members of the dying Jesuit order. St. Ignatius is San Francisco’s flagship Jesuit parish, the church of the University of San Francisco. The presence of open homosexuals among the California Jesuit priesthood, and among the faculty of California’s Jesuit universities, is well documented. The associate director of University Ministry at USF, Father Donal Godfrey, S.J., is openly homosexual. The rector of the Jesuit community at Santa Clara, Father Michael Zampelli, S.J, is openly homosexual.  The chair of the department of theology and religious studies at USF, Father Vincent Pizzuto, is openly homosexual. The former pastor of St. Agnes, San Francisco’s other Jesuit parish, Father Cameron Ayers, S.J, is openly homosexual. At least Father Ayers had the integrity to leave the Catholic Church and join the Episcopal Church.

Although that list barely scratches the surface, the open homosexuality expresses a deeper problem. The St. Ignatius Jesuits have actually replaced Catholicism with something else. In 2010, CalCatholic reported that the Jesuits had replaced the confessionals at St. Ignatius with an art gallery—an art gallery actually inside the church. The action was significant. Removing objects with a critical Catholic sacramental function from a Catholic Church, and replacing them with an art gallery, an environment in which objects are considered under their aesthetic aspect alone could never have been done by a genuine Catholic.

Father Whitney and others in dissent this pride is not from our Lord…REPENT!

    • TRUTH TELLER says:

The person who has the AUTHORITY and the RESPONSIBILITY to promptly end these grievous scandals in the San Francisco Archdiocese is ARCHBISHOP SALVADORE CORDILEONE.
If ARCHBISHOP CORDILEONE is unable to use or fails to use his AUTHORITY to fulfill the duties and RESPONSIBILITIES of his office then he should resign or be replaced by an Archbishop who will use his authority to fulfill the duties and responsibilities given to him by the Holy Father, the VICAR of CHRIST on earth!

      • Michael Brooks says:

It looks to be a rebellion in the making, and the only thing that could possibly be done by the Archbishop is to excommunicate those Jesuits if they don’t obey their immediate Superiors, all the way up to Pope Francis, himself a Jesuit. I am Gay, and I prefer to follow the teachings of the Pope, and the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. There’s just no way I will ever walk away from 2000+ years of Ancient Traditions, Old and yet New.

    • JIM K. LITTLE says:

Turn him over to Satan for sifting! “When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.”–1 Corinthians 5:4-5. We must kick these folks out of the Church when they refuse to repent of immorality. Notice, it is for the salvation of their souls.

  2. Abeca Christian says:

There have always been the church’s stand on such sins, I think that even the CCC doesn’t not contain all these precious teachings from the church so it’s good to educate the faithful who lack true Catequises :

    1. The Code of Canon Law undertaken at the initiative and encouragement of Saint Pius X, and published in 1917 by his successor Pope Benedict XV, says this: “So far as laymen are concerned, the sin of sodomy is punished ipso facto with the pain of infamy and other sanctions to be applied according to the prudent judgment of the Bishop depending on the gravity of each case (Can. 2357). As for ecclesiastics and religious, if they are clerici minoris [that is, of a degree lower than deacon], let them be punished with various measures, proportional to the gravity of the fault, that can even include dismissal from the clerical state (Can. 2358); if they are clerici maiores [that is, deacons, priests or bishops], let them ‘be declared infamous and suspended from every post, benefit, dignity, deprived of their eventual stipend and, in the gravest cases, let them be deposed’ (Can. 2359, par. 2).”

    2. Tertullian, the great apologist of the Church in the second century, writes: “All other frenzies of lusts which exceed the laws of nature and are impious toward both bodies and the sexes we banish . . . from all shelter of the Church, for they are not sins so much as monstrosities.”

    3. The brilliant Patriarch of Constantinople employs most severe words for the vice we are analyzing. Saint John Chrysostom makes this strong argument: “All passions are dishonorable, for the soul is even more prejudiced and degraded by sin than is the body by disease; but the worst of all passions is lust between men. . . . The sins against nature are more difficult and less rewarding, so much so that one cannot even say that they procure pleasure, since true pleasure is only the one according to nature. But when God abandons a man, everything is turned upside down! Therefore, not only are their passions [of the homosexuals] satanic, but their lives are diabolic. . . . So I say to you that these are even worse than murderers, and that it would be better to die than to live in such dishonor. A murderer only separates the soul from the body, whereas these destroy the soul inside the body. . . . There is nothing, absolutely nothing more mad or damaging than this perversity.”

    • Abeca Christian says:

      4. Saint Thomas Aquinas, writing about sins against nature, explains: “However, they are called passions of ignominy because they are not worthy of being named, according to that passage in Ephesians (5:12): ‘For the things that are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.’ For if the sins of the flesh are commonly censurable because they lead man to that which is bestial in him, much more so is the sin against nature, by which man debases himself lower than even his animal nature.”

      5. Saint Bonaventure, speaking in a sermon at the church of Saint Mary of Portiuncula about the miracles that took place simultaneously with the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, narrates this: “Seventh prodigy: All sodomites—men and women—died all over the earth, as Saint Jerome said in his commentary on the psalm ‘The light was born for the just.’ This made it clear that He was born to reform nature and promote chastity.”

      6. Saint Peter Canisius says this about the sin of sodomy: “Those who are not ashamed of violating divine and natural law are slaves of this turpitude that can never be sufficiently execrated.”

      • Abeca Christian says:

        7. (this one I found more interesting in the way many lack to try to understand the spiritual consequences as well)
Saint Catherine of Siena, a religious mystic of the 14th century, relays words of Our Lord Jesus Christ about the vice against nature, which contaminated part of the clergy in her time. Referring to sacred ministers, He says: “They not only fail from resisting this frailty [of fallen human nature] . . . but do even worse as they commit the cursed sin against nature. Like the blind and stupid, having dimmed the light of their understanding, they do not recognize the disease and misery in which they find themselves. For this not only causes Me nausea, but displeases even the demons themselves, whom these miserable creatures have chosen as their lords. For Me, this sin against nature is so abominable that, for it alone, five cities were submersed, by virtue of the judgment of My Divine Justice, which could no longer bear them. . . . It is disagreeable to the demons, not because evil displeases them and they find pleasure in good, but because their nature is angelic and thus is repulsed upon seeing such an enormous sin being committed. It is true that it is the demon who hits the sinner with the poisoned arrow of lust, but when a man carries out such a sinful act, the demon leaves.”

8.Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira, in an SBT interview about homosexuality in Brazil (not broadcast) on October 29, 1992, stated: “The sexual act exists in the natural order of things for the fecundity of the family and, through the fecundity of the family, for the expansion of mankind. The precept of Our Lord Jesus Christ to men . . . is ‘Multiply and fill the earth.’ It is necessary, therefore, to do this and by all means to favor the fecundity of sexual intercourse, which is legitimately exercised only in Matrimony. Now then, as for homosexuality, there is no Matrimony, and, above all, there can be no fecundity. . . .

        • Abeca Christian says:

On the 5th one that I quoted from Saint Bonaventure when he quoted St. Jerome “He was born to reform nature and promote chastity.” This expresses clearly as well that these saints knew very well that our Lord does not want us to go against the natural law. Throughout the ages all kinds of sexual sins were going against our Lord and His message in being chaste. But the ones that cried out to the heavens for vengeance were homosexual acts and the saints have shared that with us.

          • Abeca Christian says:

These saints knew very well how these sins where the destruction of many societies as well especially of course their salvation.

Now all this is precious truths but we, as true followers of Christ must follow compassion and even if this society works against us in helping our fallen away brethren, we can still look upon them with love and mercy. Never forgetting that we all need Christ’s mercy and they do too but it is the activists that do the work of the devil to help many souls lose their salvation in Christ, that need admonishment and we need to ask our Lord on how to handle such persons. Their power comes from a lower power, and evil influence that can be at times intimidating. It’s intimating because dark forces influence them. Jesus asks us to fast and pray. We need to follow Him and His ways when it comes to coming face to face with those walking in darkness. We need to place God in the front line. St. Patrick knew very well how those dark forces worked that is why he prayed his prayer called St. Patrick’s Breastplate.

          • Abeca Christian says:

St. Patrick is one of my favorite saints and here is his Breastplate:
            I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
            Through belief in the Threeness,
            Through confession of the Oneness
            of the Creator of creation.

            I arise today
Through the strength of Christ’s birth with His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion with His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection with His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.

            I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
            In the obedience of angels,
            In the service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
            In the prayers of patriarchs,
            In the predictions of prophets,
            In the preaching of apostles,
            In the faith of confessors,
In the innocence of holy virgins,
In the deeds of righteous men.

            I arise today, through
            The strength of heaven,
            The light of the sun,
            The radiance of the moon,
            The splendor of fire,
            The speed of lightning,
            The swiftness of wind,
            The depth of the sea,
            The stability of the earth,
            The firmness of rock.

            I arise today, through
            God’s strength to pilot me,
            God’s might to uphold me,
            God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
            God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
            God’s hand to guard me,
            God’s shield to protect me,
            God’s host to save me
            From snares of devils,
            From temptation of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
            afar and near.

            I summon today
All these powers between me and those evils,
Against every cruel and merciless power
that may oppose my body and soul,
            Against incantations of false prophets,
            Against black laws of pagandom,
            Against false laws of heretics,
            Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
            Against every knowledge that corrupts man’s body and soul;
            Christ to shield me today
            Against poison, against burning,
            Against drowning, against wounding,
So that there may come to me an abundance of reward.

            Christ with me,
            Christ before me,
            Christ behind me,
            Christ in me,
            Christ beneath me,
            Christ above me,
            Christ on my right,
            Christ on my left,
            Christ when I lie down,
            Christ when I sit down,
            Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
            I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
            Through belief in the Threeness,
            Through confession of the Oneness
            of the Creator of creation.

  3. Susanne says:

Move along folks nothing too see here just some more rumors
… I could see this being swept under the rug by the National Catholic Register.
I am hard press to believe the poor woman running out of the church in tears hasn’t heard pro sodomny rhetoric from the pulpit in that parish before. Instead of running out she should shout out at the reprobate priest on what a diabolical lifestyle he is pushing. If only good Catholic laity when subjected would be courageous and stand up to these deviants that are infested in the church. Instead the laity keep paying for the lawsuits and these priests and bishops flamboyant lifestyles.

    • Or to put it simply: Evil abounds when good men do nothing.

      • Abeca Christian says:

AMEN LYNN! Maybe good men are becoming less and less due to vanity and selfishness ( and other sins). I feel for this world, I fear that many hearts are not so good anymore but I hang on to hope that I be wrong. Well anyhoo happy 4th, I must go now to celebrate with my family. God bless you all.

    • Susanne, many Catholics do not know their Faith accurately, and their rights to correct wayward Priests (and Bishops) under Code of Canon Law 212 #3 related to OBLIGATIONS of the Catholic Faithful.
By keeping Catholics ignorant on the recourse they have to protect the Faith – they merely go home and cry.
This ignorance also extends to the Bible – where Jesus threw money changers out of the Temple and turned over benches.
Many Catholics are not aware of the content of the Bible, CCC, Code of Canon Law, GIRM (General Instruction of the Roman Missal). Most Diocese Bishops do not encourage Catholics to read them either. When Catholics are kept in the dark, the sun will not shine in those Diocese.
This lack of education breeds Sacrilege, Scandal, Heresy, Schism and relativism as others have posted.
      1 Cor 5:8-13 either.
While I don’t advocate violence, I agree that we must stand up and speak when sin in preached.

      • Abeca Christian says:

Betty I agree and don’t forget many of the quotes from the saints….many of them are not even mentioned in any of the ones you also recommended. The wholeness of the faith contains many treasures and all treasures should be remembered and taught…..those precious teachings from even the earlier saints (doctors of the church) even the ones we hardly hear about. They are truly treasures and wisdom filled….they were faced with hard times just like we are facing today. God bless you for speaking the truth…you are a good person in Christ!

        • Abeca, it depends on the source you use to quote the Saints accurately.
The source should always have an ‘imprimatur’ and ‘nihil obstat’.

“Butler’s Lives of the Saints” is a good source, and dispells many of the myths that have been attributed to various Saints.

          • Abeca Christian says:

OSCAR the sources I use are good sources…not to worry, that is always my main thing…to check the accuracy.

          • OSCAR, what is it about the quotes blogged by Abeca that troubles you?

  4. Abeca Christian says:

    Justin Martyr

“[W]e have been taught that to expose newly-born children is the part of wicked men; and this we have been taught lest we should do anyone harm and lest we should sin against God, first, because we see that almost all so exposed (not only the girls, but also the males) are brought up to prostitution. And for this pollution a multitude of females and hermaphrodites, and those who commit unmentionable iniquities, are found in every nation. And you receive the hire of these, and duty and taxes from them, whom you ought to exterminate from your realm. And anyone who uses such persons, besides the godless and infamous and impure intercourse, may possibly be having intercourse with his own child, or relative, or brother. And there are some who prostitute even their own children and wives, and some are openly mutilated for the purpose of sodomy; and they refer these mysteries to the mother of the gods” (First Apology 27 [A.D. 151]).

and read what Clement of Alexandria says about homosexuality…it’s long to post but surely Catholic…..all these give us the zeal to fear the Lord and understand His great judgement on these grave sins…His righteous anger…it is true, raw and genuine! Don’t allow these priests and other dissenters to mislead you…your soul and your salvation is far more important….God have mercy and we pray for all who are deceived by the PRIDE movement. God help us…HIS Will be done!

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

Once again thank you for all of your research. I have placed this excellent quote you gave from St. Justin Martyr in my reference files.
I really don’t think those words from a Doctor of the Church will have any effect on the obvious ones who post on this Site, but good try. They are blinded by their Sins!

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

      • Abeca Christian says:

Thank you Mr. Fisher…’s truly a tragedy when these are no longer mentioned or taught in our Catholic parishes….so I’m hoping that the mention of them here may help. I use to attend a parish where our pastor use to teach about these in detail and told of the struggles they had back then. It’s too bad that they aren’t taught enough to help us memorize them. More in detail this priest taught and why these words were said actually do paint a better picture and truly you can see the hand of God.

It’s sad that there are people who doubt that there is a God….with all the comforts of this life, our Lord is taken for granted. How will this generation fear the real Lord if they don’t even know Him (For he is the truth and in truth we will find Him). If I am still learning daily imagine someone who does not at all… heart just breaks at that thought. So to make up for the dishonorable way of this world, we place ourselves in prayer and worship….offering up out sufferings for the abuses that go on this life that hurt our Lord. Only as I know it, for how can we possibly know all the wonders of our Lord. But we know of His greatness and goodness.

If only they can fall in love with our Lord’s goodness, that their love for His goodness would help them turn away from sin. What makes some turn away from sin and what makes some not want too? I never understood this, so with a compassionate heart we must look upon them. Just like Mother Theresa did with the poor. It takes a huge amount of humility to figure that out.

        • Catherine says:

I would also like to thank you for your very good research. The words of the saints and early Church Fathers are clear. You wrote the most beautiful prayer request when you said, ” If only they can fall in love with our Lord’s goodness, that their love for His goodness would help them turn away from sin.” God bless you dear sister in Christ. Abeca that is so beautiful I could almost hear St. John our Lord’s beloved apostle, saying those very words when the angry crowds closed in on Jesus.

“What makes some turn away from sin and what makes some not want too? I never understood this, so with a compassionate heart we must look upon them. ” Amen sweet Abeca.

          • Abeca Christian says:

Thank you sweet Catherine. I have learned a lot from your posts as well. You also know the faith better than many people I know. I enjoy your wisdom and knowledge on it.

With my body ailments I have been humbled even more and in my personal life I have been trying so hard to be meek even with the people who are most difficult to get along with in my life. I hope my kids see those great examples and overlook my flaws. I try to practice that here on this website with the homosexual activist. I’ve been told that they think I hate them….it’s not one bit true…I actually look upon them with a compassionate heart and that drives me crazy sometimes because I want to help them but I am reminded that it is not in my power, but I hope that God hears my prayers through repeating what the church teaches, as I offer them up for their salvation. The sufferings in my personal life…I offer up for the salvation of my family, friends and for my own.

God bless you dear sister….you are a real friend…one that is a treasure if anyone has the blessing to have you in their life.

          • Abeca Christian says:

Catherine I just thought of something ….if those that are gay friendly or are homosexual do not care for the quotes from our faith, that is fine, they won’t go in vein or go to waste because if they turn a deaf ear to them, the faithful won’t, it may help encourage the faithful more in re-affirming them that they are not wrong to have displeasure in homosexual lifestyles and hopefully will encourage many to remain faithful in their convictions.

          • Anne T. says:

Great point, Abeca Christian. I know that when I feel beaten down and wonder if I am even right, then when I go to a Catholic church where the faith is actually taught, and there are several in my area, I am revived again to do the right things. That is what Communion is all about.

          • Abeca Christian says:

I agree Anne T and in today’s times we are needing more of that support and re-affirming the faithful to continue staying faithful and not to cave in.

I know that often I have felt as you have but all it took was someone faithful to help me persevere. especially the saints here, have blessed me with their words of wisdom.

I feel for many who are mislead today…..God have mercy on them and may His truths be spoken often so they may help encourage more to keep on.

          • Catherine says:

            Abeca and Anne T.

Thank you both for your faithfulness and perseverance! Keep up the beautiful words Abeca and Anne T.

Abeca is right… “A true friend follows Jesus great example of true friendship and will not lead you astray.”

Use your search engine and watch the lack of tolerance and violence against Christians. Many of our youth in society have only received the false message of the world which now tolerates all sin in the name of diversity. When clergy members send messages of tolerance for immorality then our youth and our society will eventually not even tolerate free speech unless that free speech promotes immorality. The smoke of Satan that entered the sanctuary has steadily been choking the life of grace in many within the Church.

Please search the title: ‘Seattleites celebrate Gay Pride Week by proudly beating up a Christian’

Video shows men attacking religious protesters at Pridefest

SEATTLE — A protester holding a sign reading “Repent or Else” was attacked by a group of people following a loud argument during Pridefest Sunday, according to the Seattle Police Department.

Bicycle officers heard a loud debate between two groups of people near Fourth Avenue North and Broad Street but continued on their way.

According to video shot by a witness, after officers leave the crowd continues to yell at and shove two religious protesters, one of whom is holding a sign that reads “Repent or Else” and “Jesus Saves from Sin.”

At one point, the video shows a 36-year-old Marysville man taking off his shirt and threatening the sign-holding protester. The man eventually starts leaving, saying, “Cops are coming; let’s roll.”

After a group of women try unsuccessfully to steal the protester’s sign, a group of men grab onto it and pull him to the ground while the crowd applauds. That’s when the video shows the 36-year-old run back toward the fight and punch the sign-holder in the back of the head multiple times.

Officers returned to the scene after the fight was broken up and arrested the 36-year-old, who was booked into King County Jail. A 22-year-old, also from Marysville, who the video shows grabbing the protester’s sign and kicking him while on the ground was arrested and later released. Both men are facing possible misdemeanor assault charges.

UPDATE: Jason Queree, the man suspected of punching the protester multiple times, has been arrested 29 times since 1995. He has been convicted or otherwise found against for nine felonies, including forgery, stolen property, unlawful firearm possession and theft, and 12 misdemeanors, including driving with a suspended license, vehicle prowl, domestic violence, assault, DUI and criminal trespass.

Watch video of the incident here. Please note the video contains profanity. The physical altercation starts around 2:20 in the video.

          • One reason I mention Bible study frequently is that one can study it as a prayer to the Saints and Apostles who produced it.

    • If bishops today refuse to do the work and prayer that God wills them to do, then at least the faithful who grow in union with God, and thus with Heaven, through the Holy Eucharist, can consult with the Holy Bishops in eternity. To Hell with the unholy bishops of this world, the flesh and the devil!!!

Archbishop Peter J. Sartain must be contacted regarding the Seattle Diocese.
    Father John Whitney, S.J

Bishop Patrick J. McGrath must be contacted regarding the San Jose (Santa Clara) Diocese.
    Father Michael Zampelli, S.J

These EVIL PRIESTS must be REMOVED from MINISTRY immediately. Bishops are responsible for everything “Catholic” within their own Diocese.

    • MAC, this is important – we must all do as you suggest in your post of: July 1, 2013 at 2:13 pm to remind Bishops of what their jobs are – in case they have forgotten.

This may save the Souls of our own loved ones, others, and perhaps the Souls of Bishops (and Priests subject to them).

Many of today’s Bishops ignore the mortal sin of SCANDAL completely, and also ignore Canon 915 & Canon 1399.
These same Bishops ignore encouraging us to meditate on Holy Scripture and study the CCC – at home on our own time, rather than just be brainwashed by secular sources. (Catechesis in the USA stinks in most Diocese.)

    • Why the anger? Why are these priests evil? Why should they be removed from the church? Answer me these questions with proof…not your own ignorant judgments.

    • It’s interesting to me that so many want so many things to happen without the knowledge of who these priests really are…
They are openly homosexual… and? Do they act out in ways that would harm you? Do they embarrass the church by being inappropriate outside of the Church walls? Homosexuality is the realization that one is attracted to the same sex but, gay or straight, priests have holy ways that they live by – that they lead by. I know Father Zampelli extremely well, and let me tell you – there is not another man in this world who cares more about his faith and everyone around him more than he. I am a Catholic who has not been to church in quite some time due, mostly, to the hypocrisy and judgments that are cast within these threads. However, Father Zampelli is one of those ‘diamond in the rough’ type people who, when he speaks, you listen – you understand why we are here – you believe again. You see Christ’s message through every fiber of his being! I do NOT miss an opportunity to see Father Z. preside. His masses are electric – you leave the Church remembering why you came, remembering why Jesus died for us. You leave with no judgment on your shoulders and only love and faith in your heart. You leave clear and one with the Spirit.
THIS is the type of priest Father Zampelli is. Do you think he hasn’t lived in the face of this type of adversity his entire life?! The common man despising him for who he admits he is – parishioners calling for his Holy Execution at every turn?! Having to deal with the judgment of those who do not see or do not understand him and will not blink at the chance to oust him from his place among wonderful Catholic leaders?! All this, Father Zampelli faces every day and yet he still loves his calling. Why is this? How can a human being survive this type of daily lashing from those who cast many “first stones”, but still get up from the punches and serve the Lord the way he does? HOW? – because of God’s love – Christ’s love – The love of everyone around him who he helps, who he ministers to, his family and friends. The light that Father Zampelli sees every morning is not the light of his apartment or even the sun rising. It’s the light of Jesus.
It’s shameful for me to see, judging from these posts, how many of you do NOT see the light of Christ. Father Michael literally does Christ’s work. He is with the poor, the hungry, the judged, the isolated, the meek, the sick, the needy, the physically and emotionally wounded. And Father Z. is a much better man than I for I would not be able to enter the same room with anyone of you who is responsible for these awful posts without severe confrontation, however, even knowing you by face and by name and what you have said about him – if you needed him, he would make time for you and love you just as he would love any other of this brothers or sisters.
This way of thinking – this way of judging – this anger and misguided ways of thinking will be the end of the Catholic Church one day, but that is okay… what matters isn’t the religion itself, the statues, the saints, the laws laid down by Pope’s or Bishops, etc. What matters is what is the heart of it all – CHRIST. As hard as it will be for me to do – I will pray for all of you today – Lord knows I do NOT want to, but I will. I will take a lesson from Father Zampelli and I will put all of you who judge at the forefront of my thoughts today and I will pray. Please, I beg of you all – be more Christ like and stop walking in the shadows of anger, resentment and judgment…even if it’s just for a day.

      • Joe, I am glad that you are going to pray, especially for those who you believe are your enemies on this site. This is what Christ commands us to do. The wisdom of this is that it provides the foundation for reconciliation. I would also encourage you to read the scripture with a good Catholic Study Bible, such as the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible along with the 2nd edition of the Catholic Catechism. Unfortunately, we Catholics have been taught a blending of Catholic teachings muddled with secular teachings alien to church teaching and believe they are one in the same. We shouldn’t be surprised by this, however, as the same thing occurred time and time again with God’s chosen people, the Israelites, as recorded in the Old Testament.
Once you are fortified with the true teachings of the Church, then and only then can you choose to reject or embrace Her. Then and only then would you choose to assist at Mass because you know it to be true worship as opposed to refusing to assist at Mass because of some anonymous or not so anonymous post on this site.

The following quote by you demonstrates your most basic lack of knowledge about Sacred Scripture and the Church:
“This way of thinking – this way of judging – this anger and misguided ways of thinking will be the end of the Catholic Church one day,”

May our Lord send you all the graces you need for your fortification.

The Alliance between Homo-Anal Coprophile Males and their ‘Systers’ in the struggle to destroy the hated Hetero-Patriarchy – is one of convenience. However the pretend cloak of ‘born that way – not made so by abuse’ is one of necessity, if we are to believe the rest of the lies promoting this Evil.

The huge cost in Ruined Lives and treasure that could have done so much good to the world – that is the result of the Homosex Infiltration and Abuse of Boys via the Church – is the direct result of ignoring the Teachings of the Church, although they have been clearly spelled out for all.

Cheerleading for ‘jesuit’ (small ‘j’) Gaystapo Thought Police in Academentia fails to address the Misandry (Hatred of Men & Boys, Masculinity and Normal Heterosexuality) that has replaced the Magisterium in their loyalty.

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is a much better source for Accurate Information about such issues, than ‘Joe-Poster’ – whose main qualification for preaching appears to be avoidance of attending Mass – because it fails to conform to his personal politics.

        10. If it is true that all Catholics are obliged to oppose the legal recognition of homosexual unions, Catholic politicians are obliged to do so in a particular way, in keeping with their responsibility as politicians.
Faced with legislative proposals in favour of homosexual unions, Catholic politicians are to take account of the following ethical indications.

When legislation in favour of the recognition of homosexual unions is proposed for the first time in a legislative assembly, the Catholic law-maker has a moral duty to express his opposition clearly and publicly and to vote against it.
To vote in favour of a law so harmful to the common good is gravely immoral.

When legislation in favour of the recognition of homosexual unions is already in force, the Catholic politician must oppose it in the ways that are possible for him and make his opposition known; it is his duty to witness to the truth.

If it is not possible to repeal such a law completely, the Catholic politician, recalling the indications contained in the Encyclical Letter Evangelium vitae, “could licitly support proposals aimed at limiting the harm done by such a law and at lessening its negative consequences at the level of general opinion and public morality”,
on condition that his “absolute personal opposition” to such laws was clear and well known and that the danger of scandal was avoided.(18)
This does not mean that a more restrictive law in this area could be considered just or even acceptable; rather, it is a question of the legitimate and dutiful attempt to obtain at least the partial repeal of an unjust law when its total abrogation is not possible at the moment.

        11. The Church teaches that respect for homosexual persons cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behaviour or to legal recognition of homosexual unions.
The common good requires that laws recognize, promote and protect marriage as the basis of the family, the primary unit of society. Legal recognition of homosexual unions or placing them on the same level as marriage would mean not only the approval of deviant behaviour, with the consequence of making it a model in present-day society,
but would also obscure basic values which belong to the common inheritance of humanity.

The Church cannot fail to defend these values, for the good of men and women and for the good of society itself.

The Sovereign Pontiff John Paul II, in the Audience of March 28, 2003, approved the present Considerations, adopted in the Ordinary Session of this Congregation, and ordered their publication.

Joe, thanks for writing. There are sincere people who post here who don’t know that openly gay does not mean sexually active. There are others here who have targeted Father often. By their fruits you shall know them.

        • Again again and again, Anonymous, sin is not only acted out physically but also mentally … Didn’t you say you were Catholic? Catholics whose ears have been open have heard or read that Jesus informs us about this … check it out. Now, I’m not going to give you chapter and verse, and this means you’ll have to maybe read all the major works of Christendom.

          • Anonymous says:

It is not a sin to be gay. Impure thoughts are a sin. It is not necessary to have ever committed a sin (in fact, a holy person would not) to be gay. Do you know RealCatholicTV? See their Vortex episode “Catholic and Homosexual”. Thank you for your assignment. To be able to read all the major works of Christendom will be a joy. It will have to wait though because Pope Emeritus Benedict has already given us quite a lot of homework this year.

k writes …”.Joe, thanks for writing. There are sincere people who post here who don’t know that openly gay does not mean sexually active”

This is a lobbyist for openly gay priests. The cover is evaporated.

          • Anonymous says:

ANONYMOUS writes “There are those who have targeted Father often.”

          • “Gay” is a mindset; so, whether sexual activity is physical or in one’s thoughts or imagination, it is an abomination to the Lord.

          • Anonymous says:

Gay does not mean that one thinks about or imagines or participates in homosexual activity; it means that one is predominantly attracted to one’s own gender. It is demanded by the Christian life for all to abstain from all sexual activity (unless married) impure thoughts or indulging of sexual fantasy.

      • Mark from PA says:

Joe, thank you for sharing the truth about Father Zampelli. He sounds like a wonderful priest and it is sad that some people hate this man and try to stir up animosity against him. Perhaps these people do not know him. The Catholic Church is stronger than the prejudices of some and by following the words of Christ we can keep the faith. Wishing you blessings.

      • Josephine Harkay says:

How do people know that Fr. Zampelli is homosexual? Why didn’t he keep it a secret between himself and his confessor? It seems to me that all the people who have “come out of the closet” in the media are also practicing homosexuals. I think he made a very poor choice in revealing this secret about himself; now people lump him together with the latter. Please tell me one good thing that has come out of his self-revelation.

This is a Catholic website and I feel the need to post what our Church has always expressed on such moral issues…they are ones that we hardly hear or hardly are taught now to our youth…..they miss so much from this wisdom and knowledge. Truly the knowledge of these writings are also key to helping gearing persons to look deeper into their own salvation and what they need to put on, in this case the Armour of God, to help them overcome evil…to endure understanding their greatest rewards are in heaven.

    • Abecca, all those who truly Love their Neighbor as commanded by Jesus, including you, will do their best to help them get to Heaven.

Thank you MIKE….God bless you. Happy 4th of July.

Read that Anony….hiding under the Anony name by harassing me because I am a Christian…a Catholic Christian! I caught your other comment….truly distasteful!

  7. Abeca Christian says:

I am only preaching what the church has always expressed, it is because I genuinely care about our brothers and sisters with this disorder, that I feel we need to stand firm with love. I know that some activist for the gay movement may consider me as hating them but that is not the case at all. I just know how aggressive they are in their spread of deception because they have fallen trap to them as well, that I feel that we need to warn many that true friends do not mislead others away from the faith and it’s it laws of love from Christ.

Christ has taught ” Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do the things that I command you.” John 15: 13-14

A true friend will not lead you to a path away from our lord, even if one struggles to walk that good path but they will not lead you to walk away, they will help you stay on or support you to have courage and strength in the Lord….a true friend concerns himself about your well being and spiritual being as well…your salvation. No friend is perfect so if they can’t help one another, they will at least keep you in their prayers and not trouble with false compassion or experiment with ways to lead you astray.

Look For those good traits in a friend…stay away from prideful people, for they seem kind and caring but they are actually prideful for they may feel that they know better by leaning on their own understanding not of our Lord’s.

  8. Abeca Christian says:

Romans 1:26-28: For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a base mind and to improper conduct.

  9. Abeca Christian says:

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

  10. Abeca Christian says:

    from the CCC

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

    • Amen, Abeca! It’s always comforting to read sane and God-inspired truths. The tension mounts and all is starting to move at an ever faster pace.
Here’s an excerpt from a column by Hilary White on Lifesite news today:ROME, July 1, 2013 – Several days ago, I came across an article that said someone had figured out why the world’s populations of bees are dying. It’s a virus, they said, that causes all the bees in a hive to suddenly drop dead. They are calling it Colony Collapse Disorder and agrarians and biologists are worried. Without bees a lot of crops can’t get pollinated. If the bees keep dying, eventually we won’t just have more expensive food; we’ll have no food.
It’s one of the best illustrations I’ve ever come across of the principle that all life, from microbes and viruses to humans, is part of an interconnected, and interdependent, web. All life has value, as part of its nature because of its divine origins: “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.” A bee doesn’t fall to the ground dead without the Father’s knowledge and without affecting everything around it. How much more is the loss of every one of us made in the image of the Father? By 1965, a year before I was born, Christian civilisation was vast and ancient. It had created a social organisation and way of life that took centuries of concerted effort to destabilise. And even when its underpinnings had been eaten away it took decades for the real collapse to start…When I left my home town in my early 20s, I started to understand the global nature of what was happening to the world. Being a child of English people, and raised in an English colonial town, I started following the British and European news and it sank in, slowly, that there was no place to run. Whatever it was that was eating our civilisation, whatever philosophical infection was killing us, was everywhere. When I started writing for, I especially took an interest in British news, and it was like following the fall of a civilisation. Like a colossal, slow-motion CG clip of Los Angeles sliding into the Pacific. It has finally become undeniable that the human form of the bee disease, Christian Civilisational Collapse Disorder, a lethal combination of materialist utilitarianism, nihilism, cultural Marxism, relativism, secularism – was moving out of the confines of medical ethics and law, and metastasizing into every conceivable aspect of our social existence. And in nearly every country in the world.
The social order that Christendom created is giving way, and the barbarism it replaced 200 centuries ago is coming back.

      • Anne T. says:

Dana and other faithful Catholics, many scientists are now connecting the dead bees to our genetically altered crops which are resistant to insects. It cetainly makes sense. Most of the seed for corn and other food crops that one buys in the garden section now are also genetically altered, and they do not produce crops the next year or at least the years after. This makes farmers and others rely on about three seed companies that pretty much control our food supply. It put some Indian farmers and others out of business since they cannot afford to buy seed for their crops every years. The United States and some other countries have a stock — emergency supply– of non genetically altered seed, which they do not give to the public. Some non genetically altered seed is still being sold on line if one can get it. I advice you to do so. My husband and I have our own food trees that have not been genetically altered.
        Scientists in experimenting have done some great things, but they have done some horrible things also — letting loose killer bees accidentally; cloning and altering genes using both human and animal cells together;
unethical stem cell experiment vs the ethical type which works; producing the birth control pill, which is a carcinogen for women and pollutes the waterways and abortions as a way to control populations vs Natural Family Planning when absolutely necessary; unnecessary sex-change operations and so forth. People need to listen to the official teachings of the Church against these things. They know that about which they speak and write Hopefully I have not made a lot of typos, but my post is readable anyway.

        • Stop with the GMO theories!!!! That is not true!!!!!

          • Anne T. says:

If the seeds are insect resistant, and they are, they kill insects after awhile. That is just common sense. You can find it all on line, and EWTN has had many reports on such things.

        • Abeca Christian says:

Wow ladies (Dana and Anne T) I didn’t know that about the bee’s. I like also what you were trying to convey…excellent!

          • Abeca Christian says:

Annie you are incorrect….we must not support GMO! They are not good…I use to work for Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Lo Jolla. I remember when they were experimenting with the chili plant…they actually gave me one to take home. It was not the same as the natural plant that was not GMO. Well in comparison my mum said it wasn’t at all as hot as her own from her garden. Back then I didn’t know they were bad…but now I know better to stay away from those things.

      • Dana, your analogy of our dying human civilization with that of the dying bees is brilliant, whether or not the viral or GMO theories for their demise are correct or not. The Benedictine monastery in Ocean Side was also having problems with their bees dying. The monk who tends the hives started to notice that the bees were fine until a new cell phone tower was placed nearby his hives. As a result, he went around the monastery property until he found a location where he could not receive cell phone service. He relocated his hives to this location and as far as I last heard his bees are now thriving.

        • Abeca Christian says:

Tracy that makes sense too because I was told that if one wants to have a good night rest, that they should turn off cell phones and electronics that cause electromagnetic magnetic waves. This should help people have a better night sleep. Even in some places of Europe, they have recommended that pregnant woman have their bedrooms free from any electronics.

          • Abeca, my understanding is that SmartMeters also put out constant electromagnetic signals. These can be especially dangerous to those whose bedroom is on the other side of the wall of one of these. In apartment buildings, they usually group the meters together, so those unfortunate enough to have these outside their apartment should really think about moving.

          • Abeca Christian says:

Tracey even those …wow….well I don’t live near those but it’s interesting. That could maybe explain why much more people are getting cancer. I don’t know if that is connected to that but it sure makes us wonder.

      • Dana, are you suggesting that Monsanto is not to be trusted? :)

        • lol, skai. I drove by one of their belching factories along the Mississippi near New Orleans once and it reminded me alot of Mordor. (and smelled just as bad)

  11. Sharon DeGuire says:

I don’t understand our church anymore. I was taught to do the sexual act of homosexuality was wrong and a grave sin. What is wrong with these priests that are doing the opposite of what God taught us in the Bible in many chapters.

We need Pope Francis to ex-communicate all of these homosexual priests and NOW!
Bring back the orthodox Catholic Church once again.

    • The problem is that many Bishops do NOT encourage the Priests, Nuns and Laity within their own Diocese to study the “CATECHISM of the CATHOLIC CHURCH, Second Edition”. And by not doing their jobs, they commit the sin of omission.
And these same Diocese Bishops do not take SCANDAL seriously enough to do something about it – 1 Cor 5:9-13; and Canons 915 & 1399. This means that they aid and abet in SACRILEGE, SCANDAL, HERESY, SCHISM and relativism.

The Church does teach that homosexual acts are (grave) MORTAL SINS.
CCC: ” 2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices. ”
      and CCC: 2357, 2358, 2359.

      • May I suggest that a good gift for a seminarian or, for that matter, a priest you know would be the CCC as well as an authentically Catholic study bible such as the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible. Many of these priest have been encouraged to refer to non-catholic resources to obtain material for their homilies. You might be surprised how many priest would be appreciative of such a gift.

    • Anne T. says:

Many of them are dying of AIDS or have done so, and once AIDS is conquered some other disease will pop up connected to that type of behavior. St. Paul warned people in the New Testament about such behavior, good Catholic doctors have warned them, Surgeon General Koop, an Evangelical medical specialist, warned them in the 70′s and 80′s, but still they did not listen, and some still will not.

  12. Abp Cordileone could pick better men for the priesthood from the day workers standing in the Home Depot parking lot, and ordaining them on the spot.

    • Skai, your statement above is downright dumb and, frankly, below your usual comments regarding the Church. Shame on you.

    • Well, considering that home depot (pronounced dee pot) is a major sponsor of gaypride parades, maybe the counter help at ChickfilA would be a better choice, Skai?

    • Catherine says:

While undermining good and faithful priests and fooling trusting Catholics the poster who uses the name “k ” went of of his/her way to defend Father Michael Zampelli.SJ . This poster initially fooled one of the brightest gentleman posters on CCD who admitted that he had not followed all of k’s posts. There are many possible trolls on this site who make up stories to endear themselves to others while cleverly undermining Church teaching. Some are more obvious than others. Some think that they are still fooling others but this website is providing an education for everyone to see how faithful priests are assailed by wolves in sheep’s clothing. Please pay attention before you mistakingly enable a wolf to undermine and attack a faithful priest.

Celebrate homosexuality says new Jesuit rector (Lord, save us!)

“Very active in pastoral ministry to LGBTQ Catholics”
Homosexual-friendly priest named rector at Santa Clara University, will be religious superior of 40 fellow Jesuits on campus

      By Gibbons J. Cooney
      Special to California Catholic Daily

On March 22, Santa Clara University announced that Fr. Michael Zampelli, S.J., had been named the new rector to the Jesuit community of Santa Clara University. Zampelli was appointed by Fr. General Adolfo Nicolás, S.J., the superior general of the Society of Jesus in Rome.

“As rector of the second-largest Jesuit community in the California province of Jesuits, Zampelli will serve as the religious superior for his 40 fellow Jesuits on campus,” said a university news release. “His role is to support and serve them in living their personal, communal, and apostolic lives as Jesuits.”

Fr. Zampelli has served on the Santa Clara faculty since 1998, and is currently the Paul Locatelli Professor in the university’s department of theatre and dance. According to the press release, “Zampelli earned a Ph.D. in drama from Tufts University; M.Div/STM from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, an M.A. from Fordham University, and a B.A. from Georgetown University. Born and raised in Lawrence, Mass., his academic work has focused on the early modern Italian professional theatre and its relationship to religion.”

“Currently, Father Zampelli is working on papers exploring Jesuit performance dynamics, Jesuit attitudes toward the professional theatre, and the theatre’s spiritual functions — particularly in the lives of LGBT people and those consistently marginalized by mainstream religions,” says Fr. Zampelli’s biographical page on the university’s website.

In 2004, Fr. Zampelli directed the play “Stop Kiss” at the university. The drama is about two women who start out as friends and end up being lovers, and are attacked when they share their first kiss in public, injuring one so seriously she falls into a coma. “The play is timely in terms of the human issues that it raises,” said Fr. Zampelli. “How does a person discover who she is? How does a person learn to love? How does a person come to understand how she is to live her life? … In the current cultural climate that problematizes particular kinds of relationships, ‘Stop Kiss’ gives us a place to think about ‘the things that really matter.’”

On October 26, 2005, at an SCU seminar titled “Is Tolerance Enough: Catholic Universities and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Issues,” Fr. Zampelli expanded on the theme of “problematizing particular kinds of relationships.” He said, “Those of us who identify as lgbtq have a particular fix on the world, and what we have come to understand about ourselves, our society, our religions, our scholarly disciplines, from this particular perspective makes an invaluable contribution to the store of knowledge.”

Tolerance of homosexuality in the priesthood, said Fr. Zampelli, “must be a temporary state of affairs that includes an acknowledgement that we are ‘on the road,’ that understanding more and becoming more understanding takes time.”

Fr. Zampelli also suggested that homosexuality must be celebrated, not just tolerated. “In this case, tolerance is unacceptable,” he said. “Why? Because, I believe deeply (along with Paul in Corinthians) that ‘I am what I am by the grace of God.’ And I believe that I have particular gifts deriving precisely from this blessed but marginalized way of being in the world. What I see clearly now is my own desire: I want to be a subject sought out and valued.”

In addition to his work at the university, Fr. Zampelli also serves on the board of directors of CALGM, the Catholic Association of Gay and Lesbian Ministries. He is the organization’s treasurer. His CALGM biography states: “Michael has been very active in pastoral ministry to LGBTQ Catholics in the Diocese of San José (SCU and the Emmaus Community) and with Dignity/San Francisco.” Dignity/San Francisco is not recognized by the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and is not allowed to meet on Church property.

The appointment of homosexual-friendly priests into positions of religious authority is a developing trend in the Jesuit California Province. Fr. Zampelli’s appointment follows that of Fr. Donal Godfrey, who in 2007 was named executive director of university ministry at the Jesuit University of San Francisco. Like Fr. Zampelli, Fr. Godfrey is active with “Dignity.” Last year, Fr. Godfrey led a workshop at the July 2009 Dignity USA convention in San Francisco. Fr. Godfrey also has been a fixture at San Francisco’s Most Holy Redeemer, a parish deeply involved in homosexual activism, including participation in the city’s yearly Gay Pride parade. In October 2007, Fr. Godfrey presided at a prayer service (later broadcast by the BBC) celebrating homosexuality.

      • Anne T. says:

Wow! how he twists the writings of St. Paul like a pretzel if that is what he says and writes, and some lay people will not even bother to look for themselves and see what the New Testament and the catechism actually teaches about such things.

      • It sounds as if the Jesuits now need to be ousted from alta California as they once were from Baja California, back in the day, for becoming too wealthy and powerful!

      • My understanding about the Pope is that years ago, as Father Jorge Bergoglio, he was appointed head of the Jesuits in Argentina to clean things up because many of them were activist marxists. If what you say is true, plus what’s written in this post, someone needs to clean up or clean out these California Jesuits.

      • Anonymous says:

Catherine, the above poster Joe knows Father Zampelli and is a lot better witness than someone who is selecting quotes out of context off the internet in an effort to harm his reputation (which is a sin.)

  13. Anne T. says:

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” Matthew 24:37. I was on the Ark of Noah yesterday at a Catholic church where the priest spoke about marriage being only between one man and one woman. All those who get off the Ark of the Church and do not obey its teachings will be like the wicked of Noah’s day. They will be swept away.

  14. Elizabeth says:

Holy Father Benedict I pray will ‘clean house’ regarding the Jesuits!

After all he is a REAL Jesuit and he did clean them up in Argentina.

Pray for our Holy Father, for strength and his health.

  15. Matthew says:

Okay, I just don’t get WHY this priest would read a lengthy letter about the gay pride parade during Sunday Mass.
    Couldn’t he have preached about…oh, I don’t know…maybe the GOSPEL instead?

  16. It appears now that any priest, politician, Supreme Court Justice or other prominent person can promote heresy, cause scandal and claim that it is the moral and proper thing to do. They can do anything they want, and no bishop will even criticize them. I would get up and leave a church where the pastor read a letter in which homosexuality was proudly proclaimed and I would transfer to another parish. If parishioners left these heretic churches and those parishes had no financial support, they might get the message. Where is Archbishop Cordileone? If he does nothing, it implies that he approves of the behavior of such priests.

  17. Jesuits, again….so what else is new, not that any bishop or even the Black Pope has or will do anything.

  18. Thomas Edward Miles says:

Now, all California JESUITS are homosexuals, GIVE ME A BREAK!! Guilt by association is a game that folks put forth when they have no effective argument to make! Slanderous statments via innuendo are UN-CHRISTIAN and these vicious false remarks violate the established rule of CHRISTIAN CHARITY!! It is with great PRIDE that I am a member of a fine JESUIT parish!!!

    • All Jesuits are not homosexuals.
It is however wrong that the Jesuit General Superior, Father Adolfo Nicolás, SJ, does not expel those publically and obstinate in mortal sin from the Order,
or that the appropriate Diocese Bishop does not refuse the same to be active as a Priest within his Diocese.

Many Jesuits do not adhere to the Bible, the CCC, or Code of Canon Law.
Due to the widespread lack of obedience and discipline enforced within the Order – those who are innocent suffer. And scandal plagues them as a group.

    • I didn’t say they were homosexual, I all but said that whenever there are priests who are causing problems, you usually find a Jesuit.

    • Anne T. says:

Some Jesuits are good, some are excellent and some are downright bad or evil. At least one person who comes on here always defends the teachings of the bad ones, then pretends he likes the good ones. What a split personality he has.

    • Catherine says:

“It is with great PRIDE that I am a member of a fine JESUIT parish!!!”

This was also done with GREAT PRIDE .. ” *And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth*. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered: that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod. And her son was taken up to God and to his throne. Revelation 12:4-5

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

Don’t just get up and leave, let everyone present know why you are leaving my shouting “this is heresy and I am out of here!”
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

Having known and knowing real Jesuits like Fr. Fessio, Fr. Hardon, Archbishop Tomas Clavel, S.J., and many others, for once I can agree with you. But I also know how much these real Jesuits suffer because of the evils ones. My Ancestor was the Jesuit Founder of the Jesuit University of Chihuahua, and the then Acting Archbishop of Chihuahua.

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

    • Laurette Elsberry says:

TEM, I corresponded for quite some time with two elderly Jesuits who lived in the Jesuit retreat center in Los Gatos. They were true Jesuits, who loved Jesus and hated sin. It must have been true torture for them to live among the Jesuits of today who worship at the feet of Satan. Their deaths must have been a blessing for them.

  19. These men will continue and destroy the Catholic Church. Would these men be willing to die for the trues teachings of the faith, because it appears they are willing to fight for what is killing souls.

  20. Wow, Abeca. Obsess much?

    • Gladstone says:

Actually, Abeca’s thoughts are very well-conformed to reason, because the commenter understands what is truly important: eternal life and the sole means to attain it – the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. Citing Tradition’s consistently superlative repudiation of sodomy in general, and among clergy in particular is quite appropriate, especially in light of the fact that very few priests will say anything in public. Abeca speaks the truth from the heart of the Church. Would that more among the hierarchy were so worthily absorbed.

      • Abeca Christian says:

Thank you Gladstone…you are right and you understand the real reason and goal…which is our salvation and our brethren as well. So the focus is salvation, graces and what pleases God. God deserves our best and our love….He is the truth! The saints preached to no end….they understood how important it was and they preached on what was affecting them during their time…today those of us who care will quote from our faith what we need to, to defend and speak the truth. Too bad some don’t understand that. But it’s OK….we just look kindly and gently to them and smile…give them the warmth love of Christ but always standing firm and sharing Jesus.

    • Harold Carson says:

      I agree, Adolfo.
Abeca really needs to get something constructive to do with her time. Way to much time thinking about sodomy. Be careful dear. A moth flying too close to the flame can get into trouble.
Do you have a job, dear, to help occupy your mind?

      • Abeca Christian says:

hahaha Harold and Adolfo you guys are funny.

Nah just my calling…I use to reach out to homosexuals…on a personal small level…I finally gave that up and now I just like to post church teachings on it because I feel that those truths have been lost, twisted or not ever taught(or they have been DE-sensitized or watered down).

So as much as you like to say those things to me, I consider them a compliment… it doesn’t help that this website brings us too much homosexual news…that it just causes me to keep posting those things especially since we have a lot of pro-gay friendly folks like maybe yourselves here. So as long as you remember the teachings of the church and do not take them for granted…then I will continue….

        God bless you Pax Christi

        • Laurette Elsberry says:

Abeca, you are a wonderful Catholic. You know full well that the truth will make you free, and you want others to know the same.

          • Abeca Christian says:

Thank you Laurette E….God bless you and you are right…the truth does make us free.

      • Harold, you gays display the most idiotic intimidation tactics. Like the gays of ancient Sodom who rallied against the angels of God, you rally against the faithful of God today. Like the deranged Sodom inhabitants, you gays simply have no self control; you have no game plan to reach a settlement, and you will, as always in history, destroy yourselves. Good riddance.

        • Abeca Christian says:

Skai when you comment about the truth in Christ…I am always eager to read because you show how much love you have for our Lord through them…you have a neat way of conveying as well….I appreciate your gifts and your style …..God bless you.

          • Mark from PA says:

Abeca Christian, Skai comments about his personal theology and his personal truth, which is often not the truth of Christ of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Yes, I know that you appreciate his jokes, insults and disdain for a group of people that you despise. But some people don’t find it all that funny.

          • One’s “personal theology” is not per se false, like yours is, PA. You gays need to realize that faithful and penitent sinners are capable of phrasing truth in their own words. This fact would of course baffle any gay because all gays live in lives of twist and dark.

          • Ditto Abeca! Love your posts! It’s like having the bands come on during half time games when everyone is sick of all the punching and mauling…a real relief to have quotes from saints and Bible verses, CCC etc. Thanks, sister in Christ.

    • Abeca Christian says:

Adolfo please read what I posted….it took a lot of my time…there are souls that need those messages. Take care… Pax Christi

  21. I agree with you Sharon. I don’t understand why the church doesn’t ex-communicate these homosexual priests. The church should ex-communicate Catholic politicians and Justices that support abortion and gays and lesbians marriage. The Church already has a tarnished image with the public because of pedifile priest scandals.

    • Want to do something positive?
Write to the appropriate diocese Bishop.
Ask him to please excommunicate those obstinately and publically involved in grave sin because they also commit – SCANDAL, SACRILEGE, HERESY, SCHISM, and promote relativism.
Build your case about the person(s).
Quote the Bible: 1 Cor 5:9-13.
      Quote the CCC regarding SCANDAL: # 2284, 2285, 2286, & 2326.
Quote the “Apostolic Constitution SACRAE DISCIPLINAE LEGES” which includes: “Finally, the canonical laws by their very nature must be observed.”
      Quote Canons 915 & 1399.
Lastly regarding a sin of omission, quote CCC: ” 1868 Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them: – by…; – by…; – by not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so; – by protecting evil-doers. “

Bishops who do not do their jobs – aid and abet in the sins committed.

  22. JimAroo says:

Be not afraid – the Archbishop, with characteristic strength, will banish all of them from the archdiocese, declare USF to be no longer a Catholic school, and the cow will jump over the moon.

In other words, don’t hold your breath.

  23. Kunziteinmatrix says:

These “faux” priest’s are vermin…St. John Chrysostom said, “the road to hell is paved with the bones of monks and priests, with the skulls of bishops are lamp post’s that light the way”…these evildoer’s masquerading as clerics in our Catholic faith are on their way to perdition…Lucifer awaits their arrival…

  24. As a Jesuit educated Catholic, parents need to take a serious look at the possiblity of sending their children to a Jesuit university. It is an easy route to losing one’s faith.

  25. Indianaite says:

Oh, how I long for a Jesuit Church! What ever happened to the old hymn “All are welcome in this Place”? It is so strange to me that the Catholic (universal) Church discriminates against so many of its people. It is no wonder that appeals for funding from Dioceses are down, attendance is down. The people cannot justify exclusion of any group of people who seek union with Christ.
    Rich O

    • Gladstone says:

You commit the fallacy of false equivalence and arrive at a false conclusion with the formulation of such an obtuse comment. Even a rudimentary understanding of the Faith and the world at large would enable the differentiation between a person’s self and a person’s actions. The Church calls all to conversion and guarantees salvation to all who die in the state of grace. She also, however, demands obedience to all her teachings. She discriminates against and hates only sin itself, as should we. Sinful pilgrims all, we are loved by Her so intensely that She demand from us both love of Christ and all souls, while despising iniquity in all its forms.

  26. Life Lady says:

There is no question in my mind that anyone who supports same-sex disorder, that of homosexuality, or any other disordered practice, needs correction, and then repentance, in order to be considered a part of the Body of Christ, or a member in good standing with the Church. There is nothing more disturbing than to hear of someone supporting such behavior, or a person believing that they are acting in love as not to correct their loved one who is a participant in such a life style of in such abhorent behavior. Parents, as I am certain that you love your children, it is a responsibility to correct them when they err. By this correction you are actually loving your child, and by calling attention to their behavior as disordered, you are parenting properly. That is the very best kind of parenting we can do, and regardless of whether our children turn their backs on us for our correcting them, it falls to the child to take the correction or to turn their backs on their parents. If they do this you have parented them correctly, and lovingly, and can therefore pray for their conversion, but allowing yourself to participate in these unholy practices of counterfeit unions, brings judgement on yourself as a parent, and hurts your children much worse than by your holy correction.

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

      Life Lady,

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

    • Mark from PA says:

Life Lady, I know of a man whose father was a protestant minister. When he found out that his son was gay he became physically abusive. Perhaps he thought that regularly beating his son would “correct” him and cure him of his “disorder.” When regular beatings did not work, he forced his son into reparative therapy which almost cost the boy his life. As a young man, this man was also nearly beaten to death in a hate crime and was hospitalized. He had nowhere to go but was taken in by a woman that he barely knew. She helped him to heal but more importantly helped him to see that God loved him and accepted him as he was. This woman, who was once a stranger to him, came to see the holiness and goodness in this man, something that his father never could see.

  27. OneoftheSheep says:

I would like to ask the Jesuit fathers which other sins will they defend? Might I get them to defend me when I engage in gluttony? How about when I sin by gossiping? Or perhaps when I turn my back on the poor, will the Jesuits stand with me in my defense? If I decide that I don’t need to pray or contribute to the welfare of my church, will the Jesuits rush to defend such actions on my part? Just how do they decide which sins of the people are worthy of celebrating and defending? I am confused. Perhaps the catechism will shed some light on it. I thought it was love the sinner, hate the sin. I will pray for these Jesuits that the blinders will fall from their eyes and all the faithful will be admonished to refrain from sin of every nature: sexual, nonsexual, venial and mortal. Lead us, O Lord to everlasting life.

    • Abeca Christian says:

OneoftheSheep good that you ask…..I hope you are face to face with some of them and ask them…..stand your ground with them and lovingly remind them of their true calling and admonish them….helping them towards humility will help.

    • LINDA B. says:

One of the Sheep – - – - It is Love the Sinner, and Hate the Sin.
If you love the sinner you will correct him/her so he will get to Heaven.
We should never tolerate sin; and we should do our best to help everyone get to Heaven.

There is a huge difference between MORTAL (grave) sins, and venial sins.
And yes this can be explained to you in the “CATECHISM of the CATHOLIC CHURCH, Second Edition”.

This is the accurate definition of CHARITY – CCC: ” 1822 Charity is the theological virtue by which we love God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God.”

“Fagging was a traditional educational practice in British boarding private schools (nearly all “public schools” in the English sense) and also many other boarding schools, whereby younger pupils were required to act as personal servants to the most senior boys…
Fagging was sometimes associated with sexual abuse at the hands of these older boys.[1

    • Abeca Christian says:

Michael McDermott thank you for all the information. Wow….it’s interesting how many homosexuals want to hide these facts and usually avoid them all together, acting as if the homosexual lifestyles is perfect and can not sin….which we all know it is a lie.

    • Dave N. says:

What happened to the ban on web links? Or has that gone away?

      • Abeca Christian says:

Dave N there are more serious issues before us and here you ask about a ban? I can’t figure people out anymore….my hair will turn grey if I try… yikes

  33. Michael McDermott says:

FYI – I have years of Video of the annual tax subsidized anti-male hate riot / SF DYKE MARCH stretching from the last decade that I could use help putting in to Documentary form, the better to show the true lawless power of the Gaystapo on Frisco.

This includes the entire 2013 Dyke March (filmed at 16th & Valencia) which as usual was downplayed by the same lamesteam media that highlights so much else related to their MISANDRY (the Separatist / Ne0-Exterminationist Hatred of Men & Boys, Masculinity and Normal Heterosexuality) and demands for creation of “A World Devoid of Men”.

This is an aspect of the USF / Santa Clara ‘jesuit’ (small ‘j’) schools that is truly disturbing – that they actually Promote the Dyke Agenda that literally Demands Extermination of the Male Gender – as part of their ‘tolerance’ pogroms.

When places like USF / SC hold out womyn who mutilate themselves and abuse steroids as “New Men” (like Chastity Bono, who was Raped by an Older Dyke as a young girl) – they are not just pandering to their ‘perceptions’…

But rather Endorsing their Extermination Pogrom aimed directly at the never to be sufficiently despised (at least in Academentia) Y-DNA BioManPigOppressors’ of the “Patriarchy” – Whose “Death” was called for in Banners leading the tax subsidized / government assisted Dyke March.

    • Michael McDermott says:

While the Attack by the Gaystapo shown is itself nothing new (they also Stage phony ‘hate crimes’ to garner attention) – the posting of such raw acts of ‘Pride’ on video is relatively rare.
The annual tax subsidized SF Dyke March boasts numerous similar occurrences, all of which the lamesteam media dutifully censor – lest the ‘vanilla’ (clueless suburban taxpayer / voters) get too much information, for their own un-good.

<<Seattle gay pride participants viciously beat Christian street preacher (VIDEO)
SEATTLE, WA, July 4, 2013 ( – A street preacher was repeatedly punched in the head and kicked by two men at Seattle’s Pridefest this past Sunday – and the entire confrontation was caught on camera.

In disturbing video footage uploaded on Youtube and reported by Seattle’s KOMO news, two Christian street preachers can be seen standing on a grassy area. One of the preachers holds a sign that says “Jesus saves and heals,” and “Repent or else,” while the other holds a Bible.

At the beginning of the video a large man approaches the two preachers angrily, while another woman repeatedly shoves the man carrying the Bible and demands that the two men leave.

The situation continues to heat up, until at one point a number of people attempt to snatch the sign away from the sign-wielding preacher. When one man succeeds, a melee ensues in which the angry man seen at the beginning of the video runs at and punches the preacher in the head several times while another kicks him repeatedly. Others attempted to break up the fight.

Police arrested 36-year-old Jason Queree, who is suspected of being the main attacker. … A second suspect was also arrested…

  34. Maybe next Sunday the pastor will give a nice homily about the joys of adultery, so those committing THAT sin won’t feel bad.
    Heaven forbid anyone’s “self-esteem” should be damaged…

  35. Vatican City has the lowest age of consent in Europe at 12, says a lot.. You can marry a child who is 12 year old In Vatican City!!

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

Please document your above statement. Don’t expect us to take your word for it!

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

      • I couldn’t believe my eyes about this “12 years of age” claim, but it seems, IF you believe the links I found, to be true:
“Vatican State has its own criminal system based on the former Italian criminal code (called “Zanardelli Code”, issued in 1889). Art 331 (1) of this code provides that the age of consent is set at 12 years old, but according to Art. 331 (2) when there is a relationship of dependence (like teacher/student/ etc.) the age of consent is 15 years.
“This law applies to criminal suspects arrested in Vatican City. Whereas, if a sexual offence occurs in Vatican State but the suspect is arrested in Italy, he/she is tried under Italian criminal law, based on Italian Criminal code called “Rocco Code”, issued in 1930. According to article 609 quarter of this code, the age of consent is set at 14 years old or 16 years old if there is a relation of dependence. There is an exception to this rule: having sexual intercourse with a partner aged 13 doesn’t constitutes a sexual offence only if the age difference between the two individuals is not more than 3 years.

Thank you for sharing this information. I find it sobering and sad. The Vatican really needs to change this law.

    • Abeca Christian says:

Maybe its an old law that has not been updated….

      • Having read some of these links, you seem to be quite right, Abeca.
Like the following “dumb laws” from California:
“No vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 miles per hour.”
“Women may not drive in a house coat.”

        • Abeca Christian says:

Ted that sounds just about right….kinda silly, here where I live too there are still some really old laws too.

  36. Vince Ryan says:

Father John Whitney, S.J., of St. Joseph’s Parish in Seattle, who wrote the letter to his parishiners, “Why Am In the Parade?” , was formerly the Superior General of the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus.

  37. Linda Maria says:

Since Vatican II, our Church has been very poor, at teaching the true Catholic Faith and Morals! One cannot hope to lead a decent life, without proper moral and religious teaching! Many priests and laymen have no concept any longer, of Christian morality, a moral conscience, or what it means, to truly be a good, practicing Catholic! Like the secular, post-1960′s hedonist world– they all seem to not want to even discuss how to lead a good life, close to Christ, how to seek a life of Virtue, close to God, and repent of or avoid sin! Instead of teaching their people, and insteaad of standing up for Christ and enforcing the Code of Canon Law– the Church entirely ignores it all!! Students of Catholic institutions suffer terribly! They graduate with perhaps 12-16 years or more, of total, hedonistic, “Me-Generation” ignorance, instead of a good Catholic foundation for life! And our Nation suffers, too, because when these Jesuit and other Catholic college graduates enter the workforce, they destroy our country further and further!! Unmarried people who sin and have affairs (“sleep together”) and use contraception, contribute constantly to the downfall of the Church and Nation! They also have abortions! It takes mature, adult Catholics, well-trained in their Faith and Morals, to properly court and marry, and raise a good, Catholic family! This helps strengthen the foundation of our Church, our Nation, and all of the civilized world!! Homosexuals have the Christian moral duty to avoid sin, and lead a good, chaste life, following Christ! Christ will help them do this! And who is it that should be teaching Catholics, that continually fails to do their job?? The Church!! Thus, not only is the Church being destroyed, but our Nation– plus, all civilization!! Tragic!! Christian Marriage is the foundation of the entire Western world!!

  38. Quite frankly, nothing surprises me anymore regarding the Jesuits. They are out of control, and those Jesuits who are defending the lifestyle are simply trying to justify it for themselves. However, they have forgotten one, very important thing: they took a solemn vow of chastity.

  39. Tom Lewis says:

The mothers in Africa who are raped by men who have contacted AIDS because of their extreme sexual lust for sex with men also has created a death culture where children born from these horrid rapes die within a few months of being born of AIDS. DAMN you Father Whitney! May Almighty God have mercy on your soul for such utter stupidity.

    • Your Fellow Catholic says:

wait a minute. Father Whitney lusts after sex with men in Africa and then rapes women? Really?

      • YFC, now you’re beginning to get it … sodomy and other evils are acts that can take place in one’s mind as well as otherwise. Someone who advocates sodomy is guilty of the evils it causes everywhere.

      • Mark from PA says:

Tom Lewis, from what I have read a large number of the men in Africa that have AIDS contracted it from prostitutes. Most of the prostitutes in some African countries are HIV positive and have spread AIDS to their clients. Many of the men work away from home, got the AIDS virus from prostitutes and brought it home to their wives. A number of women may have gotten AIDS from being raped but I think a majority got it from their husbands. Also if men are raping women, it isn’t lust for men that is the problem here. An overwhelming majority of AIDS sufferers in Africa got it from heterosexual contact. Sadly, more women than men in Africa suffer from AIDS. The administration of President George W. Bush was instrumental in bringing inexpensive medication to Africa to fight AIDS. Death rates have dropped significantly in some African countries due to American aid in fighting AIDS.

        • Mark from PA says:

Tom Lewis, again, what in the world does Father Whitney have to do with men raping women in Africa? How is he is blame for children born as a result of rape, dying from AIDS? With improved medication, do you know the survival rate for children in Africa born with the AIDS virus. From what I know, children born HIV positive can be kept healthy with the proper medical treatment.

          • Mark from PA says:

Doctors have proven strategies that can prevent 98% of newborn infections by treating HIV positive mothers. One million HIV free babies have been born to HIV positive mothers. At this point more people are starting treatment for the AIDS virus than are being diagnosed with the AIDS virus. Especially important have been the introduction of anti-retroviral medications throughout Africa. Life expectancies are rising again in parts of Africa with high rates of people with AIDS after many years of decline.

          • Canisius says:

The so called Fr. Whitney along with PA should both be thrown out of the Church

          • Mark from PA says:

So Canisius, do you object to the fact that the United States has done much to get inexpensive medications to African countries to fight the AIDS epidemic and save the lives of millions of people, many of them innocent children? President George W. Bush, whom I voted for 2 times, took the lead in fighting AIDS in Africa. Do you honestly believe that because these people are Africans that they deserve to die of AIDS as punishment for their sins?

          • Canisius says:

PA once again you put words in my mouth, this so called Priest should be thrown out of the Church for defending sodomites,, I not once mentioned US $$ going to Africa for AIDS relief. I notice this is just how you play word games on this site…..

          • I reread Mark’s post and realize I had not read it correctly. Sorry Mark. As Gilda Radner used to say in a little voice…’never mind’!
It’s not so much compassion I lack, YFC but concentration. I’ve been sick all week & should stay away until I can think more clearly. ugh. God bless all, and ‘I’ll be back!’

          • Mark from PA says:

Dana, sorry that you have been sick. The warm weather probably doesn’t help. Hope that you are feeling better. God bless you and keep you in good health.

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

I hope you feel better soon Dana.

          • Abeca Christian says:

God bless you Dana, I hope you feel better soon too…I will pray for you during my prayer time.

        • I don’t mean this in a personal or mean-spirited way, MarkPA, but after quite a long time of reading your posts day after day, I find that you are utterly and unspeakably out of touch with Church teaching and even reality. Also, I know it will be as water off your back because nothing anyone says here has the least effect on your understanding but I just could not let another of your errant posts go by without protest. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and freedom of speech, but when they pass actual lies and false statistics off as fact I find that utterly reprehensible. At least start your ridiculous claims with, “I think..” or “I feel that” or “In my opinion…” so that people unfamiliar with your version of truth will know that it is simply that…your version.
To all here, I wish you a wonderful Fourth of July and a joyous day with friends and family. God bless America! Blessed Bishop Sheen, pray for us!

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Dana & Canisius: you ought to be ashamed for the way you treat people on here. Saying that they are liars and agaisnt church teaching and should be thrown out of the church, without so much as pointing out what in his post is against church teaching. Really, get a little Christian compassion going in your hearts.

          • Mark from PA says:

Dana, please explain to me how my comments here about the tragedy of AIDS in Africa and the fight to bring life-saving medications to the people there are out of touch with reality. Saving the lives of people in Africa isn’t against Church teaching.

          • Abeca Christian says:

YFC before you can criticize Dana and Canisius you must first be on board with ALL church teachings…you have no place to judge them especially when we all know that you dissent here on regards to homosexual teachings. Dana and Canisius have been consistent in their devotion to the faith and to follow it…..

how crooked many are here to think they can harasses the faithful by throwing thorns in their eye’s when they themselves still have rods to work, remove from in their own. It’s hypocritical. I am not saying this in mean spirit YFC but you fell into this one with your words to tell that to them. Ashamed? really….there is nothing more shameful than what goes on here on this website site by pro-gay dissenters. That is where the real shame falls…the rest….God will take care of His people for their flaws and delivery of the message but you sir have no creditability to judge them. There is righteous anger….read up on that one from the saints and enlighten yourself. YFC I am praying for you and I mean that in true charity and sincerely.

God bless you for I truly hold hope that there is hope for you…..God is merciful to us all.

          • Abeca Christian says:

YFC for years we have been dialoguing with PA…true Christian patience we have practiced…there have been debating, dialogues, he even twisted what many meant to convey, well the list goes on….only the regulars here know who PA is and how much charity he has received from many and he too has tried at times being charitable with many here who are truly faithful to church teachings on homosexual acts. We encourage people to follow them but PA does not. So the church also tells us how to treat those who continue on their error…..before you can tell Dana and Canisius those cruel and uncharitable things, you must fully know and embrace the teachings of the faith and have a better relationship with our Lord, whom expressed His dislike for unnatural acts.

It is a sin to turn off the shining light….God’s people who walk on this earth sharing His truths are His little lights, those that prevent them from admonishing, from holding convictions in Him and sharing the faith are walking in darkness and can’t stand the light….so they try to diminish it or turn it off all together. Just saying and something to think about….

            PAX CHRISTI

          • Anne T. says:

I was all for Ex President Bush helping the African people fight AIDS since many got it undervingly, and even people who got it through bad behavior deserved a second change. Nevertheless, hanging on to perverted behavior and immorailty certainly is not the answer as as I said before some other diesease will just pop up because God and Naure’s laws are always agiant perverted or immoral behavior. As Our Lord tole the woman he saved who she got caught in the act of adultery, “Go and sins no more lest something worse befall you.”

          • Anne T. says:

Correction of my typos: “disease” not “diesease”, “against” instead of “agiant” and “told” instead of “tole”.

          • Mark from PA says:

Well, Anne T, a lot of the people in Africa with AIDS are women who got it from their husbands. The men got the virus from having sex with other women. So the women who got it from their husbands didn’t get it because they were immoral. Hopefully many lives can be saved because of Americans who have gotten medication to fight this disease to Africa.

          • Anne T. says:

Mark PA could not have even read my post at 4:29 pm. — just his own warped interpretation of it. If he had he would not have posted what he did at 6:23 pm because he only repeated what I had said, except he tried to give the impression I had not said it. Wow! can he twist people’s posts.

          • Mark from PA says:

Caniusius, I was discussing AIDS and you said that I should be thrown out of the Church. I don’t know why you think I should be thrown out. I go to Mass even Sunday and contribute to the support of my parish and I also volunteer for my parish so if they would throw me out, who else would get thrown out? Do you think people should be thrown out of the Church just because they are gay? A lot of priests (and even bishops) are gay so if they threw out gay parishioners that would be hypocritical.

          • Canisius says:

I think gay clergy should be the first to be thrown out the Church, they have corrupted the Church from the inside. Recently in NJ a gay priest was discovered offering sex to other men on some gay website. This is what it has come to PA… gays infect and destroy where ever they go. I want to see the Church purged of this infection that has brought it to its knees… As for gays like you PA, I find you quite insidious you claim to be holy and pious but have no problems with gays in a “committed relationships” ie sodomy…you are basically a liar PA.. I know I am a sinner but I do not lie, for all the sins I have committed and still commit I never once demanded the Church accept my sins because I was “born this way”…I am so sick of this gay malignancy that has overcome the culture, I am so to take matters into my own hands

          • Catherine says:

Look in the mirror if you want to see a face that should feel shame for leading your partner and other homosexuals to hell. YFC, I kept m word and tomorrow morning the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is being prayed for the special intention of your complete conversion. It is mortally sinful for you to lead others to sin by disobeying God’s natural law and distorting the teachings of the Catholic faith. The Mass will be said at 8:00 tomorrow morning.

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Catherine thank you for your prayers and mass intentions. THey are much appreciated.

          • Catherine says:

Your welcome. The priest who offered the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has a very strong devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I asked this priest to also keep you in his prayers. Please YFC, keep your heart and your mind open and pay close attention to how often God speaks to us. God’s truths often come to us through a simple message and prayers from a complete stranger. It is often something that challenges our way of thinking or our way of life. True love means helping someone get to heaven. Always remember. “No servant is greater than the Master. “

        • Anne T. says:

He also refuses to admit that any homosexuals at all had any part in the epidemic in Africa when some of them did.

          • Mark from PA says:

Anne T, I am not saying that there aren’t homosexuals in Africa with AIDS, I am just saying that the vast majority of people in Africa with AIDS are heterosexual and the main way people in Africa were infected with the virus was through sexual contact with the opposite sex. Also in Africa more women are infected with the AIDS virus than men.

          • Mark from PA says:

Canisius, I am not claiming to be holy and pious. We should all strive to be holy but I realize that I am a sinner and dependent on God’s mercy. I admit that I do have a longing to be pure of heart. I realize that in admitting this, that I mark myself off as different because in our society many men aspire to be macho and tough but this is not me.

          • What Canisius says!!! The Church converts sinners, which is the reason I love the Church. But PA wants to convert the Church to perversion … PA has it bass ackwards.

        • Michael McDermott says:

For those tempted by MPA’s sophistry in pretending to care for Women & Infants infected with Aids, and to blame it on ‘heterosexual’ behavior – I suggest reading a very telling book titled: “The Gravest Show on Earth: America in the Age of AIDS – by Elinor Burkett.

Although it is a few years old by now, the background and scams are just as fresh as today’s MPA headlines – particularly the desperation of the Homo-Anal Coprohile caucus to make Aids ‘heterosexual’ – and thus remove the well deserved stigma for pathological acts like Homo-Anal Buggery….

The book provides for comparison of the ‘Great Haitian Aids Mystery’ with the MPA statements about Africa, shows that there is a Huge Causal Link to Anal Behaviors like Buggery, that many of the most ‘tolerant’ censors demand be kept taboo.

In the early days of the Aids Pandemic (spread like wildfire through the West from nexus like Harvey Milk’s Bathhouses in Sodom by the Sea) – there seemed to be one group of ‘Heterosexual’ people who were at Extra Risk = Haitians.

Nobody could figure out how this ‘heterosexual’ population was developing much higher rates of Aids, and the media were all over it… Right until some bright spark stopped asking the Haitian Men if they were Heterosexual (which they were) and Instead inquired if they Prostituted themselves to American Homo-Anal Sex tourists (the fire island brown sugar tourist crowd) – to feed their families?

Gosh – End of Mystery, End of Media interest – but Not End of Practice.

Hence, discussion of Aids in Africa and the rest of the world, without discussion of Anal Transmission (herero & homo) as a prime source of the spread of this and related Anal transmitted diseases that facilitate infection spread (rectal gonorrhea…)
          - is simply a Dodge to Avoid the Ugly Truth about a Pathological Behavior – regardless of which gender acts it out.

          • Mark from PA says:

Michael, I have no idea how many African women with AIDS got it through anal transmission. How in the world would I know that? I have heard that in third world countries poor people without access to birth control use alternate sex practices in order to avoid pregnancy.

          • Talk about a small world, Michael, I was reading an interesting little snippet about Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati today and discovered his favorite saint was Girolamo Fracastoro, a brilliant physician/scientist who came up with the name for syphilis, which is derived from Fracastoro’s 1530 epic poem in three books, Syphilis sive morbus gallicus (“Syphilis or The French Disease”), about a shepherd boy named Syphilus who insulted the sun god of Haiti and was punished by that god with a horrible disease. The poem suggests using mercury and “guaiaco” as a cure. Wasn’t it supposedly Haiti where aids was first heard of?

      • Correct, YFC, in that Whitney abets the satanic activities of the worldwide gay agenda. Why have you failed to comprehend what I have explained numerous times, which is that the sin that cries out to Heaven for vengeance takes place not only with an individual’s physical actions but with his or her spiritual actions; this moves the sin of sodom from a brief tryst in a bathhouse in San Francisco onto an otherworldly plain that impacts the whole world. You should read Catholic mystical Saints to try to come to grips that you gays cannot hide your sins … except you bury them in penance while carrying your crosses and following Jesus.

        • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Skai, there is no “Satanic activity of the worldwide gay agenda”. This is a figment of your highly overactive imagination.

  40. A. DiStefano says:

The level of ignorance and hatred in the article and responses is disgraceful. Your hearts are twisted by homophobia. I wish I could feel compassion for you, but I cannot. Please silence yourselves.

    • Canisius says:

No A DiStefano we will continue to speak out loud and clear, the homophobia ( made up word by the homo-sex left) is just the disgust we feel when see our Holy Church corrupted from the inside. I will continue to insult, provoke and reject gays on all levels, you are the ones who are twisted with your perversions.

    • DiStefano, why don’t you turn from your sin and follow Jesus?

Man sentenced for using son in child-porn conspiracy
by Tim Evans, The Indianapolis Star

INDIANAPOLIS — A man who made his young adopted son available to at least eight other people for sex was sentenced to 40 years in prison Friday.

Mark J. Newton, 42, an American who had been living in Australia, was handed the maximum sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracy to sexually exploit a minor and conspiracy to posses child pornography. Federal Judge Sarah Evans Barker said she accepted the plea agreement because the crime was too horrific for a jury.

The case was prosecuted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana because images of the sex acts involving the young boy were found on the computer of an Anderson, Ind., man in a larger child exploitation and pornography investigation, U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett said.

The child victim, identified in court as Boy 1, was made available for sex to at least eight men when he was between the ages of 2 and 6, according to court documents made public Friday.

Records in the case had been sealed since Newton was charged in February 2012. Also facing charges in the case are Peter Truong, 36, an Australian citizen identified in court records as Newton’s “domestic partner;” John R. Powell, 41, of Florida; and Jason Bettuo, 36, a resident of Illinois.

Truong has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing on charges of conspiring to sexually exploit a child, as well as charges of possessing child pornography. Bettuo has filed a petition in federal court expressing his intent to enter a plea of guilty, and Powell’s case is still pending as he awaits trial.

“For more than one year and across three continents, these men submitted this young child to some of the most heinous acts of exploitation that this office has ever seen,” Hogsett said after the sentencing.

Court records indicate Newton paid a foreign woman $8,000 for her newborn baby in 2005 and that he and Truong then adopted the child.

Videos uncovered by the investigation depicted Truong and Newton engaging in sex acts with the boy when he was approximately 22 months old, court records revealed. They also traveled to the United States, France and Germany to allow others to engage in sex acts with the child.

Many of those encounters were photographed and videotaped by Newton or others and distributed to a close-knit group of people in several countries.

Newton and Truong were arrested in California in early 2012.

Testimony in court also revealed the child was coached by Newton on how to respond to investigators to deny any inappropriate activity.

Newton entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors last summer.

      • YFC, yes, I agree that a mere 40 year prison sentence was way too lenient, and that a death sentence would have been just.

    • Abeca Christian says:

Catherine I cried reading the information you posted. Poor child, I ask our Lord “why..Why” Why couldn’t it have been stopped or someone defended this child….it is a heinous crime. In such cases, I do support the death penalty or castration. This child couldn’t defend himself and to take advantage of him that way or any child in any way just makes me terribly upset. Just like the poor innocent unborn children when they are tortured in an abortion but I read from the saints that sodomy on a child is far worst of an immoral sin.

Our prayers are with this child, I pray that he receives the right therapy because this will affect him for the rest of his life. Just like the little girl who was coaxed by her lesbians care takers, they coaxed her to believe that she was bi-sexual. Truly sick.

    • Anton L Seidl says:

Catherine: This is the most disgusting report I have ever read in my 84 years on God’s green earth. I am so repulsed by the behavior of these men I cannot stop shaking. If enormities like these take place, the human race has reached an unspeakably new low. Why do organizations like the ACLU defend perverts like NAMBLA? Why are perverts like these allowed to hold their meeting while hiding behind the first amendment? Remember: “if anyone hurt a child, let a millstone be tied to his neck and let him be thrown into the depths of the sea.” But, I forget, as a Catholic I am not supposed to advocate the death penalty any more…..

      • Abeca Christian says:

Anton you are wrong….as a Catholic following what the church has always taught and even the doctors of the church preached about….you can agree with the death penalty under church guidelines!

      • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Anton : NO ONE would defend this activity. Not even NAMBLA. And I’m prety sure ACLU does not even defend NAMBLA (and neither do I)

        • Canisius says:

Wrong YFC, the ACLU defended your friends at NAMBLA and their so called right to defend publishing on the internet material that instructed your fellow perverts how to seduce to young boy….This happened after a young boy was murdered by a NAMBLA member in Boston about 10 years ago and his family brought charges against this vile organization. An organization who members included an icon of the Left Allen Ginberg. May he be roasting in Hell….

          • Mark from PA says:

Is NAMBLA still around? If so I doubt they have many members. Even most gay people think that they are disgusting. People that harm children should be in prison. I think most of us can agree here.

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Canisius, I admit I’m not sure what ACLU’s position is in regard to NAMBLA. I will research it. In the meantime, please know that I am pesonally quite opposed to NAMBLA as is everyone I know.

          • Canisius says:

YFC I simply don’t believe you are anyone you would know……

          • YFC, there is nothing to research; Nambla’s position is obscene.

        • Abeca Christian says:

YFC I am sorry to say but you are wrong….how could you say such things…you are not living in their hearts to know what is deeply rooted…this notion you just preached is truly false and inconceivable because it just shows your denial of reality of such things.

        • NAMBLA, YFC, is a devil cult and would support any evil as long as it didn’t cause them pain … or maybe it would even support that. Why do you gays keep hammering the false idea that there are good gays and bad gays? Is that your gay version of manecheism?

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Skai could you please for once try to comperhend what is actually written about before you rant against it? I wrote very clearly that I don’t support NAMBLA, and no one I know supports NAMBLA. Please read first before responding.

        • YFC, gays cannot isolate themselves from reality. Read two of the seven letters to the seven churches, about how some were delving into deep things of mystery … pull out of the gay movement in every way including sentiment and tolerance before you fall into the pit.

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Skai please read what the Church teaches about gays before you says these nonsensical things. Gay people cannot stop being gay. Nor does the Church teach that it IS possible.

      • Anton, Catholics may advocate the death penalty. It is a false belief that we may not. No pope said that Catholics are forbidden to advocate capital punishment. It is the gays who keep pushing this false teaching.

      • What about putting all child rapists on death row in solitary confinement with no exercise breaks, and making them attend all executions?

    • That little boy is still haunting me, and I pray for him often. Poor little mite. I simply can’t comprehend such evil, and it’s growing more bold every day, with such crimes taking place openly and in the daylight!

  43. St. Peter says:

After reading this article, I am confused as to why are so many upset with Fr. Bonfiglio. The only quote from the letter provided in this post says that the reverend father went to a gay pride parade in order to “support the mothers and fathers, the sisters and brothers, the friends and companions of our gay and lesbian parishioners, who have pride in their daughters and sons and who long to have them feel loved and welcomed at the table of Christ and in the body of the Church.”

Nothing in this quote says anything against the Christ or the Catholic Church. Who ISN’T to be loved? Who ISN’T welcomed to the table of Christ? From what I understand, Christ invited all sinners as he died for all sinners, even while they were sinners. Perhaps the angry posters know of some esoteric text that outlines those Christ does not welcome?

    • Abeca Christian says:

Please stop using the name of St. Peter with the comments you just made…it is an abuse of a saints name.

      • Anonymous says:

Please stop using the name Christian with the comments you just made…it is abuse of the Son of God’s name.

      • St. Peter says:

What did I post that goes against Church teaching, Abeca? Should homosexuals not “feel loved and welcomed at the table of Christ and in the body of the Church”?

        • Canisius says:

NO they should not, if they are living their gay death style… they should be kicked out the Church. The trouble with sodomites is they want to be welcomed while living in mortal sin and being unrepentant about it. That is what it all comes down to… they want acceptance of their sin… without question…. we say NO as does Christ….

        • Abeca Christian says:

Not saint Peter, your comments come off as you are OK with this priest attending the “gay” parade….not a good thing….would some one help me here as to why this is wrong…I’m too tired of going over this over and over throughout the years through posts…

Sorry Peter maybe some other time I’ll have time to continue answering those same questions from those who are gay friendly….But it is not OK for a priest to think that he is supporting their families by attending the gay pride parade, that is scandalous and does not give off a good message. Especially at what goes on those parades and what the “gay”pride is all about…not about church teachings at all. Look to the saints to help you….you must not have read the quotes from the saints….

        • Abeca is indeed a Christ follower and praises God with her blog name “Christian”. Anyone who cannot see this is depraved.

        • When we go to the table we’re to have ‘washed’ and prepared ourselves for the feast. We do not go in all our dirt. Didn’t your mother teach you to wash your hands before dinner? Well, we are to ‘wash’ our hearts. I grieve for those who are so inured to their sin that they don’t even feel guilt anymore.

    • Gladstone says:

Sinners are ever welcome by Our Blessed Lord, but sin itself cannot be welcome. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding in accusing comment-writers of anger. To so clumsily conflate a person’s sinful actions with an actual person is often treated as an intellectual insult.

    • DAVID S, says:

      S. Peter – you do not participate in a gay parade to support anyone or anything – except MORTAL SIN.
Read the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition” – #2257, 2258, 2259 and ” 2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices.”

” 15… No authentic pastoral programme will include organizations in which homosexual persons associate with each other without clearly stating that homosexual activity is immoral.
A truly pastoral approach will appreciate the need for homosexual persons to avoid the near occasions of sin. “

      • St. Peter says:

Thank you for posting from the Catechism. The quote we were given made it clear that the pastor was telling the congregation that he supported the gay pride march insofar as he and the Church supports the fact that lesbians and gays are “loved and welcomed at the table of Christ and in the body of the Church.” He did not say he supported same-sex activity nor did he say he was creating a pastoral program. He was clear to the congregation that he wanted to remind gays and lesbians that they are loved by Christ.

Would you argue, then, that they are not loved by Christ, or that pastors of congregations are not allowed to proclaim this from the pulpit, or that they must keep this Church teaching a secret? I would bet that most gays and lesbians in the United States did not this that they were welcomed by the Church. Surely this is a grave misunderstanding that must be corrected.

        • S.Peter – - PRACTICING gays and lesbians are NOT welcome at the table of Christ. Homosexual ACTS are MORTAL Sins. And thus SACRILEGE would be committed.
The Priest lied, and you are trying to lie as well.
Families of homosexuals should never support the homosexual lifestyle -including promoting it at a gay parade. – That is the purpose of a homosexual parade.
And homosexuals should never gather unless it is stated that homosexual “ACTS” are “gravely immoral” and to avoid the near occasion of sin.
You did not read the documents posted by DAVID S.
These homosexual Priests are merely promoting their own wills to draw others into joining them in sin.

          • Mark from PA says:

Andy, it is your opinion that gays and lesbians are not welcome at the table of Christ. You may disagree with this priests and other priests and you may have a strong dislike for homosexuals but lay people really don’t have a say in who is welcome and who is not welcome at Mass. God loves us all.

          • Canisius says:

PA, Andy is more correct than you have ever been. direct question PA do you believe openly practicing homosexuals should be receiving communion while they are in a state of moral sin????

          • PA, there were no gays and lesbians at the table of Christ because before they could get there, He smote them at Sodom and Gomorrah.

          • PA, Jesus tells us that anyone with stained garments is not allowed into His banquet. Gayness is a stained garment … how could you ignore this critical Church dogma?

        • Anne T. says:

So you think it is just great for a priest to go where some men appear in nothing but thongs, and sometimes even less than that? So do you think he should attended some Madre Gras festivites where the women take off their blouses for beads and worse? Think what you are saying man. No good Christian should attend such festivities, but of course you have probably seen so much on uncensored television and movies that you could care less, but some us of still have some modesty and good sense left.

          • Anne T. says:

What I am saying is that it is one thing for men to shower in the same gym or restroom facilities, but quite another to encourage men and women to be terribly immodest in public. Also going to such parades most often sends a message of approval of anything done there. Good Chrisitans leave parties if they become too wild, so when one knows they are going to be wild from the start, one should never attend.

          • Catherine says:

            Good posts Anne T.

          • Mark from PA says:

They should go to confession, Canisius. We are all sinner and need to aspire to a chaste life.

          • Canisius says:

PA once again you could not provide a yes or no to my question. Classical liberal response to a straight forward question

      • And now the girlscouts are out marching in gay parades. Darkness intruding on the light…evil in bright light of day! No more lurking in the darkness of night, the winds of mordor have shifted and the shadow is moving across the land, dark clouds are gathering and starting to block out the sun.

    • Dude, you are confused due to sin in your soul. Repent and follow Jesus, not gay parades.

      • Abeca Christian says:

Skai is right. S. Peter must be pro-gay agenda driven and truly comments are to confuse and mislead….don’t let the words fool you. I don’t know why I keep feeling amazed at the illogical views that some have just to water down serious sins.

        • Mark from PA says:

Abeca Christian, why is it that when some posters disagree with someone they need to call the person gay or pro-gay? Why do people feel the need to use this as an insult against people that they don’t agree with? This is something that I never really experienced before I came here. It is troubling to me that people have such a strong dislike of gay people that they feel the need to do this.

          • PA, the reason some posters are (correctly) recognized as gay is because they make it obvious to those who are not gay. What don’t you believe about St Paul saying that gayness “sears the conscience”? PA, a “seared” conscience is why a gay cannot see what is so obvious to so many others, even to gross sinners who are not gay. Gayness, PA, dulls the mind and shuts off their perceptions and gives them fantasy instead.

          • Canisius says:

Well PA life is tough. I do it because I am tired of the gay mafia that has destroyed the culture and has corrupted the Church form within. You say you find insults troubling? what I find troubling PA are the masses of perverts marching in parades like they did last week in NYC. I am tired of being forced to “tolerate” perversion in the name of diversity.

Gays provokes and insult and then wonder why they are attacked and even hated. You pretend to be so pious PA but have no issue with gays in a so called monogamous relationship… PA you are the personification of what is wrong with the Church in the 21st century.

          • Mark, do you remember Wormtongue? He was so ‘reasonable’ and only sought to ‘calm’ the king when he got upset about injustice and the evils of Mordor. In fact, Wormtongue was serving Saruman, and by slyly whispering sorporific and soothing words into the king’s ear, he prevented the king from guarding his realm and protecting his people. Sometimes when someone feels he’s being kind by speaking soft words, he might actually be acting as censor to natural emotions that people are supposed to act on as right and proper responses to unnatural acts. When one, whether through guile or naivete seeks to influence others from carrying out right action, he is in reality part of the unnatural act in prohibiting justice. (that was rather convoluted and disjointed…difficult to express)

        • Abeca Christian says:

We must approach God as His little children…for a homosexual or anyone living in serious sin, to be worthy, he must and accept what God has to say on such sins, just little like little children, when they are told His way, they listen and follow, they are innocent and we must all ask our Lord to make us His little children again….

  44. All these comments make my head-spin, and my traditional Roman Catholic heart weep. Refering to this long string of comments, it is readily apparent from this sample, that millions have lost the true Roman Catholic Faith that it is frightening. In our Lord’s own words: “Many are called; but few are chosen”. Twenty-four years ago I returned to my parents and grand-parents Roman Catholic religion of their youth and I have never turned back to modern Vatican 2 (oops protestant) services and beliefs. I trust in God completely and am totally confident He resides in the tabernacles of our traditional Roman Catholic parishes. I can have a personal relationship with Him, in His divine presence, soul, and body only feet away from me on the center of His Holy Altar in the Sanctuaries. He is there for mine and those who venture to visit Him, spiritual and temporal needs. He is my life-line to Heaven. What did I do to deserve His loving presence? The Holy Ghost opening my eyes to see God’s truth? Why me a wretched sinner, why me Lord? I do not know; but I am eternally grateful for being called to serve Him as a Knight of the Altar, and I fear offending Him, because I love the Blessed Trinity, Holy Family, and Communion of Saints and Angels with my whole heart, soul, and mind and do not wish to hurt Them. As a Roman Catholic practicing tradition, it is peace of mind and heart not having to justify, explain, and accept or alibi the corruption laid by modernism. My heart is happy and confident that as a Roman Catholic worshiping and practicing tradition, with sincere holy and devoted clergy focused on God’s Holy Will, that I in-turn am hopefully pleasing to Almighty God and our Blessed Virgin Mary.

    • May God Bless you.

      • Abeca Christian says:

James, “those who offer Mass outside the Church displease Christ, since it is contrary to Christ’s wishes, for the juridic Person who has been given the right to administer the sacraments is the Catholic Church alone. Effectively, this means that the right to administer and protect the sacraments was given by Christ to the apostles and their successors. To offer the Mass or employ any other element of sanctification outside the Church is contrary to the rights of the Church. The term juridic comes from the Latin word jus, which means right. While there is a great deal of clamor about how wonderful it is that Protestants, schismatics and heretics outside the Church possess these elements of sanctification, the reality is that it displeases God that they occur outside the Church. Since God has given the Church the rights over the sacraments, anytime they occur outside the jurisdiction of the Church the rights of the Church are violated, since the Apostles and their successors have a right to protecte and determine the administration of the sacraments. In effect it is a violation of justice.”

    • So go out into all the world and share that joy, anonymous. Frankly, I have no idea as to who here is truly faithful and serving God with all that is in them. But I do know we’re to spread the good news, so keep up the good work.

  45. The ordination of these priests need to be annulled. If, as in marriage, it is determined that a ‘valid’ marriage did not occur, then the church is just recognizing what God already knows… that the marriage was never valid. As such, the church needs to remove these priests from the priesthood immediately, because they are not, nor ever have been, validly ordained. They are not priests.
    — Ok, the article states that these are “openly homosexual priests.” Apparently, that is ‘ok’ with the church. How about if we had ‘openly married’ (man and a woman) priests? Would the church ‘celebrate’ their normalcy? Would their ‘diversity’ be tolerated? — Pope, Cardinals, Bishops, priests…. Wake up out there!!! Where the hell are you people? You are supposed to be ‘leading’ us.

    • Mark from PA says:

Scrubby, the Catholic Church does have openly married priests in the Eastern Rites. Their diversity is tolerated. Also some priests who had been protestant clergy (mostly Episcopalian) have joined the Catholic Church and have been given dispensation as they were married when they joined the Church. Priests not being married is a discipline, not dogma. I would rather have married priests than priests who are in secret (or not so secret) relationships with “housekeepers” or “mistresses.” Sadly, this is not uncommon.

      • Mark from PA, where are you getting your statistics from? Or are you merely repeating gossip?

Are you stating that there are no Holy Priests?
And that all men are a bunch of sexual animals who can not control themselves?

        • Mark from PA says:

Oscar, I am not saying that there are no holy priests. Many priests are holy but many priests are also not celibate. If you want more information on priestly celibacy you can look up A.W. Richard Sipe. Mr. Sipe is a former priest who is also a sociologist and psychotherapist. He is an expert on priestly celibacy and has studied and written extensively on this topic. He has also been an expert witness in several cases involving clerical abuse. According to Mr. Sipe’s studies, a significant proportion of Catholic clergy are not celibate. It is his opinion that one of the reasons for the abuse crisis was bishops that were not celibate covered up for priests that exploited and abused children. Since they were not totally faithful to their vows they had sympathy for other priests who also were not faithful.
Protecting the reputation of the Church was a main concern for many.

          • DAVE R. says:

Mark from PA, prove your statement that “MANY” priests are not celibate today.
Give us your source for your public statement. How many is “many”?
FORMER Priests are NOT credible sources.
Back up the statements you make with provable facts.

          • Mark from PA says:

Dave R, you can look up A.W. Richard Sipe and read what he has to say on the subject. If Mr. Sipe was not credible he would not have been called as an “expert witness” in several court cases. He has stated that at any one time half of Catholic priests are not celibate. I am just quoting from what he has said. Personally, I think this percentage is on the high side but I have known priests who were not celibate and just from my observation it would seem a certain percentage of priests are not celibate. Mr. Sipe has also commented that young men in seminaries were not really taught how to be celibate.

          • Mark from PA says:

Dave R, I looked up an article by Mr. Sipe and I will quote some of it for you. “90 to 93% of Roman Catholic priests in the U.S. do not get involved with minors.” “The Bishops commission reported 4% priest abusers.” “A study of Swiss priests published in 2003, reported that 50% of Swiss clergy had mistresses.” A study of clergy in Spain by P. Rodriguez (La Vida sexual del Clerio, 1995) concluded that 60% had sexual relations. “Of the priests who were sexually active, 53% were active with adult women, 21% were active with adult men, 14% were active with minor boys and 12% were active with minor girls.” I hope this answers your question, “How many is many?” I find the percentage regarding minors as very troubling. While the percentages are low, they are still too many in my opinion.

          • PA, you’d believe anything written by a gay apologist. Just the other day I looked at something written by Sipes, and lo and behold the man is an apologist for untruth.

      • Pope Francis has said that those men who want to be priests and married can apply to the Eastern Catholic Churches or become Anglican married priests and then convert to Catholic priests. So, the Pope is saying that for those who want to be married priests, they have two avenues and no one is stopping them.

        • Mark from PA says:

Skai, I am sure that Pope Francis didn’t say that men who want to be priests and married can become Anglican married priests and then convert to Catholic priests. If a man is a Catholic he would have to convert to the Anglican church to become an Anglican priest.

          • Wrong you are, once again, PA. Pope Francis gave the heads up avenue for men who want to become married priests. That was the point of what he was talking about. Anglican priests who are married and convert to Catholicism can then be ordained Catholic priests and remain married. So, obviously a man who wants to be a married priest can go this route …

        • Anglican clergy have joined the Catholic Church for years on a case by case basis and were free of course to remain married. At one point, if not now, the Anglican convert was not a pastor of a Roman Catholic Church. Many Eastern Rite priests have been married prior to ordination by returning to their individual churches in Europe where they are still married. The Romanian Catholic Diocese in Canton Ohio has married priests.

        • Mark from PA says:

Skai, Mr. Sipes is NOT gay.

          • OK, PA, I looked up Sipe and lo and behold he is not gay, but is prominent in exposing gay clergy to the Pope.

  46. In the old days, priests gave SERMONS which meant they could just choose any old topic, ignoring the Bible readings, the season, the feast day, and so forth.
Now, my understanding is (or rather WAS, after reading this article!!!) that the celebrant is supposed to explain the Scripture passages in a way that will nourish the SOUL AND SPIRITUAL WELL BEING of his congregation.
Last Sunday, the readings included Saint Paul’s admonition NOT to live according to the flesh — and yet this Jesuit decided to ignore God’s Word and hold forth about the importance of the gay pride march or whatever it’s called these days.
Something tells me this is NOT what Holy Mother Church — and Saint Paul — had in mind when this passage from the Letter to the Galatians was part of Sunday’s Mass:
“For the flesh has desires against the Spirit,
    and the Spirit against the flesh;
these are opposed to each other,
so that you may not do what you want.”

    • Furthermore, the very next day (Monday, July 1), we started hearing the story of Sodom and Gomorrah — need I say more?

      • Anne T. says:

Yep! TEd, we are indeed in the “days of Noah” with some on the Ark — practicing Church teaching — and some being “swept away” — practicing immorality and persvesion.

        • Anne T. says:

In other words, all had better jump back on the Ark of
Church teacing if they really want to be saved.

          • What once was the Ark of Noah is not the Barque of Peter. Those who are not on it need to be really good swimmers.

          • I meant “now” is the Barque of Peter, not “not”.

    • I have observed many truly Catholic Jesuit priests but I also can’t understand, especially those arrogant Jesuits in Academia preaching and teaching error in our Catholic Universities. There is something amiss that an entire order, considered at one time to be the “brains” of the church can get away with their abuse of our faith with impunity.

      • Vanity and the wisdom of man as opposed to humility and the wisdom of God, don’t you think Bud? Haven’t heard from you in awhile, if this is Bud from Ohio?

  47. Abeca Christian says:

Put you on the armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the deceits of the devil. Douay-Rheims Bible Ephesians 6:11

We must remain loving and firm.

As the soul is the most precious part of the human being [Mt. 10:28], the Holy Spirit is the Precious Body of Christ that is the Church. Through the Holy Spirit, the Church is the Temple of the Living God. (C.C.C. # 797)

So with that expressed, we must remain faithful to Christ and His church, do Him justice and honor Him by presenting His truths fully not watered down, as best as we know how. May God help us and forgive us our flaws.

  48. Abeca Christian says:

Sometimes we mistaken love for those tender looks from the prideful who think they know better than God. They act like they are tender, affirming the lost in their sinfulness, little do they know that it is only false compassion. A true friend follows Jesus great example of true friendship and will not lead you astray.

  49. Abeca Christian says:

With these thoughts honoring God, I leave this now…no more comments from me on this article…I said enough….Jesus here, we plant the seed, now you lead…..we leave in God’s hands and our prayers we offer up.
Praise Be Jesus Christ! Praise Be His MOST Holy Name! AMEN!

  50. Bob One says:

The priest who talks to his people about joining the gay pride parade is trully flaunting the teachings of the church. On the other hand, no one, at least in public, stood up and faced him with his poor teachings. We Catholics are hit from two sides all the time on this issue. In our catholic parish schools, are the young people taught what the church teaches about sexuality? In the public schools, at least in California, the curriculum begins in first grade to teach about the wonderful world of “diversity.” Children are taught that it is “hate” to not respect another student’s gayness. Recent legislation about “bullying” is nearly 100% about how children relate to gays. Do our catechism classes for public school children try to overcome/combat what the kids learn in school and in the general culture? By the time kids get to college they have learned what the secular schools taught them, not what the church should have taught them. If our pastors and school teachers don’t believe what the church teaches, they will not teach it in their classes or from the ambo. Any dictator will tell you that if you want to change the culture, you start with the schools. What you teach in the schools will be what people believe in 20 years. If we want to change the church, we need to start with the schools, the CCD classes, the confirmation classes, high school religion classes, and, yes, the seminaries. But it will be a twenty year process because the culture is teaching the opposite philosophy. I guess it is really the fault of the adults that the kids don’t know their faith.

    • Bob One, “flaunting” in your first sentence is the wrong word to express what you tried in vain to express.

      • I understood him perfectly whether you consider it the wrong word or not.
Keep correcting your own stuff which I do find rather odd.

        • Bud, I was not taught in Catholic schools. I do not enjoy the Catholic cultural norms. My ethnic ancestry is only remotely familiar with “cultural Catholicism”. I had to learn Catholicism from holy priests, monks, nuns, and decades of reading Saints, Doctors of the Church, the Bible over and over … all of it over and over … learning to criticize the TV evangelists, learning on my own how and why the Evangelical gurus could not understand some of the prophetic books they use in constructing millenialism, had to painfully learn how to recognize the ideological and theological and religious errors of my culture and religious family background, learn the differences between the Jews and Wasps I grew up with, the distinctions between cultural Catholic social science orientation and my extreme materialist family background. Bud have you ever tried to learn something you were not inculturated with? Have you ever tried to find out the answer to something that nobody else you ran into knew? Bud, do you know what an easy life you’ve got when everything was handed to you on a gold platter? Bud, can you face social ostracization for something you believe in? What are you, Bud, a marshmallow Catholic?

          • Anonymous says:

I always slightly envied those who were raised in devout Catholic homes until I realized that those who were often were mistaken about some aspects of the Church and Catholicism and were very resistant to correction. No one is perfect and the children of the devout have trials of faith as well. Good for you, skai, for doing the hard work necessary for conversion.

    • Canisius says:

Bob One I assure if I had been in the congregation that day, I would have taken this false priest head on….I have done it before and will do it in the future….

      • I agree. When a Priest violates the teachings of the Church, or abuses the Mass:
        1) Do not be shy about publically standing up and correcting him.
(Quote the Bible or CCC if possible so others will know that you are correct, rather than the Priest.)
        2) Contact the Diocese Bishop, with copies to the US Papal Nuncio, and the Vatican.
This is the ONLY way you will get the entrenched devil out of your Parish.

Jesus threw the money changers and those selling out of the temple. He overturned tables and benches.

Mass is for the worship of God, not to promote sin.

    • Catherine says:

Bob One writes……”On the other hand, no one, at least in public, stood up and faced him with his poor teachings.”

Bob One, That’s where YOU come in. Respond to these kinds of actions on this website and then show your children how you are actively striving to defend and uphold “all” of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Dialogue is good Bob but if you consistently come across like your not quite sure of what to vigorously defend and uphold, then you will come across as an enabler of sin. You wrote earlier that Christ rules in your house. That is wonderful Bob. Now you need to be a missionary and travel just a little bit further outside of your home and your usual comfort zone to become salt that has not lost it’s flavor when posting on CCD.

Come Holy Spirit and enkindle in Bob the fire of thy Divine Love. Send forth thy Spirit and renew the face of the earth. Guide and protect Bob and lead all of Bob’s family especially his children safely back home.

    • Anonymous says:

Bob One, did you read the letter?

  51. If one is too shy or doesn’t have the guts to stand up and disagree with a priest at the altar who obviously is going against our faith, at least get up and leave (very obviously I hope). Was it Pope Paul VI who declared that SATAN had entered the Church? He never left. It will take a long time to weed the garden now!

  52. “Jason Queree, the man suspected of punching the protester multiple times, has been arrested 29 times since 1995. He has been convicted or otherwise found against for nine felonies, including forgery, stolen property, unlawful firearm possession and theft, and 12 misdemeanors, including driving with a suspended license, vehicle prowl, domestic violence, assault, DUI and criminal trespass.”: “nine felonies” and he’s not doing life without parole on the Three Strikes Law, or is this law only in California?

  54. Maryanne Leonard says:

If you add up the total number of comments on articles of homosexuality in the course of a month or a year and compare them to any other category of topic on this website, you might be astonished to see how this subject riles us up like no other.

If sinners will not listen to admonition, there is no need to educate them further; they are not lacking knowledge, they are consciously choosing sin and evil. We need to focus more on saving America’s babies from slaughter and on saving our own souls and those of people who wish to spend eternity with God than trying to pry homosexuals apart. Let us leave this subject and return to those we can do something about.

  55. Dolorosa says:

Catholics need to read the book by Michael Rose, Good-bye Good Men about the infiltration of homosexuality into catholic seminaries. This is part of the infiltration of the Novus Ordo. What is the answer? I had to leave my local church. Catholics can’t just stay and support these so called priests and must take action.

  56. Anonymous says:

Not one post actually deals with the content of the letter read at the Mass. How would you react if this was read in your Church? Would you support your church being in the parade? Would you attend to “support the sisters and brothers of [your] community who seek to live FAITHFULLY in the way that God has made them and the Spirit has called them?” Would you go to bear witness to the love of God and the Church for sinners? What did you think of the reaction that people at the parade had to the presence of the Church there?

  57. The times are a changin’ for the better! Just like in World War II after Japan attacked the US in Hawaii it is reported that a Prominent Japanese leader exclaimed “I am afraid we have awaken a sleeping giant”. The sleeping giant in this case has been formed for the past 20-30 years by the Holy Spirit among the youth at the behest and intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary! Hooray! The days of dissident priests and bishops are numbered and our dear Lord Jesus Christ has already started cleaning up his house Holy Mother Church! Let us pray this work continues quickly!

  58. Roberta Genini says:

So many wonderful Jesuit saints…I’m thinking of the English martyrs, but so many more. We should invoke them daily to save the Jesuits.

  59. Conchologistbyavocation says:

one more thing…priest’s and monk’s who use their collar or habit as a means for seduction, male or female, are suffering from serious sociopathy…these sexual degenerates frequently, if not always, deny their guilt and try to explain it all away as a big misunderstanding…shockingly, even blaming the victim’s for their demonic behavior!…these evildoers will answer to Our Lord when they pass away…priests and monk’s who use their holy station/office as a means to debauch, will suffer mightily when they pass away from this mortal existence, “crying out for water, to cool the flames and implacable thirst” they suffer in Gehenna…this is a biblical certainty…
