Boy Scouts likely to approve gay leaders

The Christian Post report

The following comes from a January 28 story in the Christian Post.

The Boy Scouts of America announced today, under pressure from questions raised by the Christian Post, the the organization is likely to allow professed homosexuals to become scout leaders and that a vote on the matter is scheduled at the group’s executive meeting in Irving, Texas, the first week of February.

When asked about the change by The Christian Post, BSA officials confirmed the major policy reversal just days before Scout Sunday, February 3, an annual event held in many churches around the country to promote and encourage participation in scouting. The organization originally planned to make the announcement at the Boy Scouts of America Annual Meeting in May.

A source who has knowledge of the situation told the Christian Post last week that the BSA’s top executives had met with top leaders at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Convention, among others, over the last few weeks to inform them of the possibility of this policy shift.

Early Monday morning, the BSA responded to CP‘s inquiry and released the following statement via email:

“For more than 100 years, Scouting’s focus has been on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. Scouting has always been in an ongoing dialogue with the Scouting family to determine what is in the best interest of the organization and the young people we serve,” wrote Deron Smith, BSA’s Director of Public Relations.

“Currently, the BSA is discussing potentially removing the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation. This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, and the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with each organization’s mission, principles, or religious beliefs. BSA members and parents would be able to choose a local unit that best meets the needs of their families.

“The policy change under discussion would allow the religious, civic, or educational organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting to determine how to address this issue. The Boy Scouts would not, under any circumstances, dictate a position to units, members, or parents. Under this proposed policy, the BSA would not require any chartered organization to act in ways inconsistent with that organization’s mission, principles, or religious beliefs.”

On their website the BSA call themselves “one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations.” The group has been under pressure in recent years to allow homosexuals in leadership roles after winning a court decision almost thirteen years ago.

The decision would be a dramatic change in Scout policy. In 2000, the U.S. Supreme Court, in Boy Scouts of America v Dale, ruled that the group had the constitutional right to “freedom of association” – allowing it and other groups to exclude persons from membership when the “the presence of that person affects in a significant way the group’s ability to advocate public or private viewpoints.” The essence of the ruling was that the organization’s opposition to homosexuality is part of the BSA’s “expressive message” and allowing homosexuals as adult leaders would run in opposition to that message.

When asked what prompted the BSA to consider such a change, especially given that the Supreme Court has ruled in their favor, Smith said the change was considered as “a result of dialogue within the Scouting family.”

“Scouting’s policy caused some volunteers and chartered organizations which oversee and deliver the program, to act in conflict with their missions, principles or religious beliefs,” said Smith.

If approved, the impact of the new policy could have far-reaching ramifications, say religious leaders.

“It boggles my mind to think the BSA would make such a move,” said an executive in the Southern Baptist Convention who asked not to be identified. “If they have counted the cost of this decision in terms of relationships and numbers, then I believe they have miscalculated that cost.”

The Mormon Church, Catholic Diocese and Southern Baptist Convention are three of the largest religious organizations that are closely affiliated with the BSA. Troops, as local units are called, often meet in and use church facilities for their weekly gatherings. Many troops are formed solely from within churches given that the BSA’s objectives and development programs often run parallel to the doctrine of many major religious groups. However, church membership or religious beliefs are not a requirement for membership in the BSA.

According to the BSA’s website, of the approximate 100,000 scouting units in the U.S., 69.6 percent are chartered to faith-based organizations, 22.7 percent are chartered to civic organizations such as Rotary, Kiwanis and chambers of commerce, and 7.9 percent are chartered to educational organizations such as PTAs and private schools….

The BSA’s National Executive Board will meet from Feb. 4-6 at the DFW Airport Marriott in Irving, Texas, and the issue is anticipated to be a topic of discussion, although the meetings are private and not open to the public or media.

  1. Why should the Boy Scouts bureaucracy be any more resistant to the gay agenda than the Vatican? If the public wants gay then they get gay; no different from the ancient event called Sodom and Gomorrah. Civilizations develop to points where they get stuffed with what they consider to be luxury and then they all but roll over and die for whoever steps in to conquer them. Hopefully in the case of the Church, this abomination will outed and kicked out.

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

After 30 plus years as a Scouter, I have informed them that I will no longer be volunteering. This is a very sad thing!

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

  2. Clinton R. says:

Considering the history of child molestation in the Boy Scouts, allowing homosexuals to be leaders would be akin to allowing the fox into the hen house. The homosexual militancy knows no limits. With Obama giving his utmost support to their deviancy, the ‘Rainbow Mafia’ continues to inject their filth into every aspect of society. The link between pederasty and homosexuality is subject no one wants to acknowledge.

  3. Abeca Christian says:

Maybe the end times are coming because people are caving in to sinful lifestyles. God have mercy on us all.

  4. Thomas Edward Miles says:

“There goes the neighbourhood”!! It is clear that this is a conspiracy for homosexuals to rule the free world, what next the grand old party!

    • Anonymous says:

      Log Cabin Republicans. Google it.

    • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Actually, Thomas, we already have ruled the grand old party. I guess you haven’t heard that Ken Mehlmann, former head of the RNC, came out a few years ago as gay.

And I can tell you that there are plenty of single Republican heavy hitters who are known to have had gay lovers.

So it’s not that we want to take over the world. We’re already everywhere you are. Always have been, always will be.

      • “So it’s not that we want to take over the world. We’re already everywhere you are. Always have been, always will be” That’s the unfortunate truth…and you corrupt everything and every aspect of the culture , btw Thomas was being sarcastic he is a known friend of you sodomites…..just because you are tolerated doesn’t mean we like or accept you….I will ask you one more time YFC, when gays and their secularist friends start demanding removal of the Churches tax-exempt status because its teachings are “intolerant” and when they start to burn parishes whose side will you be on..???.

        • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Canisius, there is nothing “sacred” about the tax exempt status of the churches. Many many people have questioned why that exemption occurs. It’s not in the constitution. It’s not a matter of faith or religion, and it’s certainly a lot different than burning parishes.

Oh by the way, for a while, when I was a good bit younger, I attended Metropolitan Community Church, which is a growing denomination of LGBT Christians. It was burned by a molotov cocktail thrown through its windows. And that wasn’t the first time, and it might not have been the last.

So when you keep asking me whose side will I be on when they start burning our churches, I already know. My church was burnt. Whose side are YOU on?

          • Well it seems the CC thought police have struck again… YFC I am on the side of Christ and His Holy Catholic Church… and willing to die for it… how about you?

          • YFC, I find the name of your former so called “church”, “Metropolitan Community Church” to be instructive. The word “metropolitan” points to a worldly philosophy. Since sodomites are of this world and they often think of themselves as sophisticated and “metropolitan”, I think the name of your “church” was sure appropriate.

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Tracy, “Metropolitan” means having to do with a city, not having to do with “the world”. In fact, Archbishops are known as “metropolitans” to denote the attachement of their see to a large city with significant regional influence.

    • Actually, you wrote the truth, TEM, whether you wanted to or not. When I was in my twenties, I worked in a pretty and safe downtown area. Then a homosexual bar came into that area. About that time I decided to quit my job and stay home with my daughter. Then pornographic bookstores came into the area where I used to work, and no woman wanted to go to the shops there any more lest they get propositioned by the seedy characters on the street. After years of that they finally cleaned the place up by getting rid of the porn shops and the homosexual bar, which either moved to another area or closed down. Once again people like to go there to shop, eat and to the decent places of entertainment. So you are quite correct in saying, “There goes the neighborhood.” Of course, you would probably blame it on the porn shops and not the homosexual bar.

  5. This article should be forwarded to all Bishops. Many of their Parishes have Boy Scout Troups.
The Diocese Bishop and the USCCB should write to the Boy Scouts stating that those Troups in their parishes will have to become independent of the Boy Scouts if the Scouts approve sodomy, since they will be violating teachings of our Faith.
Those who are publically and openly sodomists set a bad example for boys, not to mention the temptation of young males around them.
After all the Church has learned due to abuse, they must also put it into practice regarding all sodomists, and prove the Church can protect children – from potential preditors as well as evil example.

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

      Dave,

Real Bishops will do what you stated above, unfortunately Real Bishops are in the minority, at least in Amerika.

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

  6. Juergensen says:

Studies show that while homosexuals comprise no more than 3% of the population, they comprise over 33% of child sex abusers.

Now you know why they want to join the Boy Scouts.

  7. Satan never sleeps, now the sodomites can have free reign and help destroy the lives of young men entrusted to them with authority. The sodomites and NAMBLA will be in their glory

  8. Larry from RI says:

Is this a case of the national leaders caving to the loss of revenues from large corporations? They should not cave to this financial bullying by big money boys. Tell the big money boys to shove it.

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

Larry, as a 30+ year Scouter (Adult Leader), I told them that a long time ago, unfortunately they wanted “leaders of Industry” on the Board, and they are now paying the price for that. I am sure that I just one of many who are resigning. I even told them of my experience with another Scouter in England, one who personally knew Lord Baden Powell. He told me that the surrender to the sodomites in England had been a disaster. It will be the same here in Amerika!

One of the Board Members who pushed for this comes from a Corporation that is big with the Obamanation, G.E.!

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

  9. Now the Boy Scouts are going to dare to mock God and allow homosexuals (not GAYS) to endanger our children. What a double standard this world has, concerning the fall-out caused by the Boston Globe when they (after hiding the facts for 6 years) told us about the homosexual priests in the Catholic Church. Wake up Bishops and stop supporting the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and get them off of Church properties. +JMJ+

    • St. Peter says:

Why, JMJ, do you get to decide what terminology gays are allowed to use to refer to themselves? Exactly what authority do you have to name a class of people you clearly do not associate with?

Do you determine how Asian’s are to name themselves? Oriental, perhaps? Chinamen? Or perhaps homosexuals can determine how Catholics should be labelled. Papists? Heretics? Jesus Freaks?

  10. Our young boys need real MEN to be their leaders. They need Christian men to model for them how to be a man that possesses virtues that will carry them through life as protector, guide, and example of Jesus Christ. Men who “act out” their same sex attraction VICE or any Vice for that matter, are not suitable leaders for young boys. We lead by example — not what we say. Boy Scouts of America, please do not lower the bar. Many of our young boys do not have fathers at home and need good role models to emulate.

    • There are plenty of real men out there. They need to step up to the plate and help good groups of Scouts and their parents break free from the gay grabbers.

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

      Sandra,

As a 30+ year Scouter (Adult Leader) I can attest to what you wrote above. The Boy Scouts have been subjected to the same kind of infiltration that our Church has been subjected to. Unfortunately now many men who helped lead these fatherless boys to manhood will now resign, as I just did.

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

      • Mark from PA says:

Mr. Fisher, when I was a teen I didn’t know any gay kids in school. Back then we didn’t know as much. Today a lot of gay teens have “come out.” Young people know more about these things today. When I was a senior in high school one of my best friends used to call me “gay boy.” I don’t know if I totally understood what he meant. Do you honestly think that gay boys who are in the scouts should be discriminated against? Should boys who have a homosexual orientation but are not openly gay, be thrown out? Why should kids be punished if they are honest about who they are? Young people want to be accepted and respected. When you were a scout leader did you try and get rid of boys that you thought were gay? If a boy had told you that he was gay would you have thrown him out? The best thing to do is to treat the boys as individuals and not discriminate. Do you have such a dislike of gays that you feel that you must resign as a scout leader rather than risk having a gay boy in one of your troops? Jesus calls us to love one another, not discriminate against, ridicule or bully those that are different.

  11. Warren Memlib says:

    1. The USCCB’s reaction

Said Sister Mary Ann Walsh, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, “The bishops hope the Boy Scouts will continue to work under the Judeo-Christian principles upon which they were founded and under which they have served youth well.”

    2. Next a God-less Scouts’ oath?

Scouts’ pledge to drop any mention of God in promise with new members able to declare themselves as atheists

    By Steve Doughty
    PUBLISHED: 3 December 2012

The Scouts are to drop their historic rule that teenage recruits must declare religious belief, the movement’s leaders said yesterday.

In future boys and girls who join the organisation will be allowed to declare themselves as atheists and make a pledge of honourable behaviour that makes no mention of God.

  12. bellaitalia says:

Big mistake. I would NEVER let my sons join a troop with a leader I knew to be homosexual. Reason would not allow me to do so.

  13. Laurette Elsberry says:

I gave up buying Girl Scout cookies when Planned Parenthood became a “sister” to Girl Scouts, and all that entails. Do I now have to give up the Boy Scouts terrific popcorn?

Trivial comments? Not really. There’s not much more one can do to fight the gay movement that is taking over the lives and bodies of our children.

Do I hear any Church efforts besides the Mormons to stop this plague?

  14. OneoftheSheep says:

And I am advocating for mixing the wolves and the sheep in all zoos throughout the world! Honestly, Boy Scouts needs to be about the development of young men: their integrity, their mission, their development, their principles and their formation into society as future leaders.
Instead, the infiltration of homosexual “role models” into the scouts perverts the purpose of scouting. Will it be about male identity? Will it be about male sexuality? Or, will it continue to be an organization offering young boys a chance to identify with the best that American Society can offer to them? There is something inherently contradictory about trying to form young men with leaders who have gender issues.

  15. Time for the Boy Scout program to fold its tent.

  16. Mike Arata says:

Sadly, this perverse outrage may be another case of “follow the money.” Googling “Form 990 Boy Scouts of America” and clicking on the third link will bring up BSA’s 2011 “non-profit” financial report in PDF form. Scrolling to pages 7-5 (12 of 69), 7-6, and 8 shows BSA’s chief national executive making over $980,000 and at least 8 other officers paid over $400,000.

Form 990s for various local BSA councils show even their executives often making $180,000 or more, in what most people (and likely most other scout leaders) believe to be a “volunteer” organization.

The problem now appears to be an executive BSA board which includes troublemaking, pro-homosexualist executives from AT&T and Ernst & Young in particular — and contribution cutoffs by UPS, Merck, Intel, et al. until BSA folds on admitting homosexual leaders and scouts.

BSA says the contemplated policy would permit scouting groups and sponsors their own discretion in matters of “mission, principles, or religious beliefs.” That would leave groups which continue actually to honor the Scout Oath and Scout Law in untenably vulnerable positions. They’d be targeted and picked off one by one in vicious homosexualist attacks.

Recommendation: Google “Boy Scouts of America” (Irving, Texas HQ); leave remarks at their contact page. Also, call (972) 580-2400. A live BSA staff person has been taking a poll there. [The main switchboard number is (972) 580-2000, but that number is constantly busy — unsurprisingly.]

    • Laurette Elsberry says:

Mike, thanks for this information. Love of money is the root of all evil – and can even corrupt the organizations we think of as most honorable.

In a way it’s a shame that churches are not required to expose their earnings in this way. It would be quite telling.

    • The Boy Scouts does not need to be an international bureaucratic slave organization. Subsidiarity works well with the Boy Scouts and the many local troops can launch it for themselves if they have not yet done so. The Boy Scout troop I was in during the fifties was fully capable of carrying on without any ties to greater and glorious paper tiger nonsense. It’s the nanny state boy scouts that need this because they and their parents have little capability or interest in the essense of Boy Scouting. Our troop camped out one weekend each month … each and every month. We did not need to spend money on renting locations, because of the ennumerable public locations that were ideal for scouting activities. The troop had a slough of pup tents but I suspect they were copped from military surplus and paid for by the troop. We all bought our own packs, cooking kits, knives, hatchets, and uniforms. What the heck else does a troop need to have from a super-organization with leaders paid many hundreds of thousands of dollars per year? Nothing. Any respectible scout troop would simply secede from that gay rip off fraud.

      • Your Fellow Catholic says:

I’m just gonna quote a few of Skai’s choicest pearls and let everyone come to their own conclusions:

The Boy Scouts [of America] are a “slave organization.
        They are paper tiger nonsense.
        They are nanny state boys.
They are a gay rip off fraud.

Hmmmm… Thanks Skai for filling us in.

        • Thanks again, YFC, for the highlighting my points. Yet again you need to understand the context, which for rhetoric, is paramount to having a clue. The corrupt BSA bureaucracy would not have come to be if it were not for slothful and corrupt leadership … especially the dolts who figured to that bigger is better.

        • Like, a few years ago while driving by a mountain lake, there was a troop of Boy Scouts bivouacked, sort of like sardines, between a weekend RV park, itself the most ludicrously stupid thing that one might see … digressing here for context … people pay huge amounts of money and spend tons on fuel driving these 40 foot vacation homes to some park and park three feet from the next one … These places stink like sewage pits … and the Scout leaders chose such a nexus to camp out in. But why should I complain, because it means that these blockheads won’t venture further away from their tailgating lots and clog up the actual wilderness that is a treat to be able to hang out in once in a while. I don’t understand such rat-mob mentality like that, when you have more space around your house or even your condo or apartment or office or warehouse. How could any self respecting Scout leader park his boys at a traffic jam?

        • Skai is right. When organizations become too big, they lose their original reason for being. In trying to please too many people, they end up pleasing no one.

        • Typical liberal snide comments.

    • Nice, a list of some of the big gay companies to boycott. Only one on that list on my radar is UPS. But more and more deliveries of odds and ends come to me via Fed Ex. Yet, obviously this big money gay agenda needs exposure so that people can make choices with those corrupt companies in mind.

      • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Oh Skai, but your shipments help finance FedEx’s same sex partner benefits.

        • Thanks for the update, YFC (no pun intended). I don’t keep track of which companies push immorality, and sometimes there is no option. Makes it easier that way, but when I learn of an option, I take it.

    • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

      Mike Arata,

I just called (972) 580-2400 and they are no longer taking messages. I wonder why not!

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
      Kenneth M. Fisher

  17. Making a concession that deliberately distorts the innocent values of children means that the decision makers for the Boy Scouts should first build a big campfire and then start hunting day and night for some millstones in the woods. They can also be purchased on the internet.

24″ Millstone from Albany, Georgia, #24001
$1,200.00 – - You may also check out the entire inventory on Millstones.com for a variety of selections.

The persons responsible for the “cave in” loss of values should then announce the new Boy Scout Motto: “BE PREPARED” how to tie a lanyard knot around a millstone« Survival Training”

    Douay-Rheims Bible
And whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea….Matthew 9:42

    Douay-Rheims Bible
Who answering said to them: An evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet….Matthew 16:4

    Douay-Rheims Bible
    — And my people, upon whom my name is called, being converted, shall make supplication to me, and seek out my face, and do penance for their most wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land…2 Chronicles 7:14

    • Catherine, another excellent insight put to words!!! Also, howz about somebody marketing much smaller millstones that serve as hones for Boy Scout knives and hatchets?

    • Anonymous says:

Why would you look in the woods for a millstone?

    • Brilliant, Catherine. This is so pathetic… apparently the nefarious so-called ‘gay’ bullies are exerting pressure like back alley thugs in Chicago, as they did to the orange growers who supported Anita Bryant. They have big budgets now that they’ve been left huge legacies from homosexual business tycoons… a story that has not been sufficiently covered as far as I’m concerned. I’m disgusted with this wimpy country. Maybe Jeanne Mureau was right when she said 75% of American men are homosexual, and she felt that figure was too low. Real men are an endangered species in this country, that I AM sure of, and by the time the feminazis and homosexuals are done grinding them into the dirt, they’ll be as rare as hen’s teeth. I’m so sorry Jesus, at what we’ve become, as a people, as a Church, as carriers of civilization. We’re failing the generations to come, we’re failing the children now and, though we know the war has been won, we’re really losing on our watch.

  18. Chuck Stout says:

This is sheer madness. Can you imagine what the parents would say to a male adult who wanted to take a junior high cheerleading squad out for a weekend retreat! I know what the parents would say, but I can not type the words!

  19. St. Christopher says:

The Catholic Church provides much money and resources to the BSA. Does this mean that the bishops will yank this from them? Start a Catholic or Judeo-Christian based scout group? Nope. The USCCB will use this to further shame the many many weak kneed bishops that already exist and that secretly do not oppose homosexual sex or sexual deviancy. Perhaps this is the “other shoe” that will drop and show people the kind of perverted leadership that often is leading the Church since Vatican II. If true men of God believed that homosexuals in the province of young boys is the recipe for true disaster, they would be all over this issue. Instead, we hear the crickets — chirp, chirp, chirp. Oh yes, this new direction is welcomed by many bishops. Even though it will not be long before issues of “friendship” and “closeness” will lead to many “events” beloved of Jerry Sandusky and his ilk at Penn State. And, against the backdrop of all of this, many homosexual groups and leaders are pushing for a lowering of the age of consent. Evil does not begin to describe what these animals are looking to do. The BSA becomes another milestone, a victory, on the way to social domination by homosexuals and their “right” to unfettered access to young boys. They are smart, too, dressing up their complete perversities under the banners of “no bullying” and “equal right to love” and “God made me this way” and other completely crazy positions. Nope, this one makes virtually all other sins, with the exception of abortion, OK to perform. And, of course, where, oh where, are our shepherds?

    • Mbûkû Kanyau Mbithûka says:

Keep looking, they (shepards) are probably at the sheep barberque

    • Mark from PA says:

I think this is a positive step. Perhaps it will help to end the negative stereotypes that many have of gay people. The Catholic Church should not be opposed to this as according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, homosexual persons should not be discriminated against. Not allowing boy who are gay or are perceived to be gay in the Boy Scouts is discrimination. St. Christopher, I find your statement referring to gay people as “animals” to be unChristian. You ask where our shepherds are, well maybe they believe what the Catechism says about people not being discriminated against and being treated with respect.

      • PA, it is not only important but critical to discriminate against gays, for the good of society and for the protection especially of young people.

        • Your Fellow Catholic says:

          Homophobia lives!

          • Abeca Christian says:

            and praise God for it!

          • May it live forever …homophobia a made up word by the gay mafia… may it reform our corrupt culture….

          • No, darling, I doubt anyone here is ‘afraid’ of homosexuals. Phobia means fear of. Au contraire. Familiarity breeds contempt. You’re seeing more public acceptance because of the continual, constant and never ceasing innundation of same-sex propaganda on trashy tv shows, movies and magazines but I’m afraid this is all being ‘allowed’ because you’re being used to ‘beat’ up the Church, but when you’ve ceased to be ‘useful idiots’ (a phrase that gets a lot of use on CCD) you’ll find yourselves back on the heap and ironically will find that the Church has always been your only hope. It is you who turn away. All of us are called to obedience. We really want to see you make it to heaven!!

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Dana if you are afraid of gay people being scout leaders, then you are indeed afraid of homosexuals. Phobias are irrational fears. And you irrationally fear that “gay” will rub off on children, or that “gay” will be unable to control themselves and force themselves on them, even though controls are (or at least SHOULD BE) in place to prevent ANY adult from being alone with a single child.

          • Anonymous says:

There is a story told about St. John the Evangelizer. His sermons were always the same. He would stand up and say, slowly and seriously, “Love one another.” Then he would sit down. After a long while, someone asked him, “Why do you always say “Love one another? Can you teach us something else?” St. John the Evangelizer replied, “When you have mastered that, I will go on to something else.”

          • Abeca Christian says:

No Dana dana… we are only welcoming the name calling… better to fear immoral behavior, knowing very well that it offends our Lord, fearful of offending our Lord… as to serve as a warning to run away from sin!

          • Catherine says:

Dana, Thank you for your Jan. 31, 4:27 post. What you wrote is very true. It is sad Dana because an addict very rarely stops his own addiction without reaching out for help from God or others. Perhaps for teaching purposes some of the the posters on this site are not aware of their own very weakened condition known as being CatholicChurchteachingophobic.

CatholicChurchteachingophobia lives. Symptoms that are most frequently exhibited by this condition are a great fear to let go of their addiction and let God assist them through grace. There is a pattern of great denial and excuse making, subject changing and dodge ball playing. No one should be fooled. This is a distinct case of CatholicChurchteachingophobia. Let us educate Merriam Webster and the rest of society who has also been swept up in the diabolical disorientation of terms like pro-choice and homophobic. There is nothing new under the sun. This is nothing more than CatholicChurchteachingophobia.

Noticeable symptoms of Catholic Churchteachichingophobia on California Catholic Daily are on the rise. I remember Father John Hardon SJ telling us that the one impediment or obstacle to an anything goes society was the Catholic Church. This is the ONLY reason for this recent influx of CatholicChurchteachingophobic posters. Fear of the truth = A perpetual state of denial and excuses made so mortal sin can be conveniently explained away as being just another fellow Catholic.

          • As usual, Catherine, there’s a notable ‘silence’ in response to your pithy and profound observation on the prevelance of CatholicChurchteachingophobia, not just on this site but in our society at large. Someone has suggested in past posts that you should write a book, and I agree. You bring real insight into our discussions and I am nonplussed that it doesn’t ring some bells for some ‘ding dongs’ who really need a good ‘clapping’. ha Needless to say, my writing style needs some polish but I sure have fun with my ‘witicisms’ (well, ‘half’ of them grin)

      • Mark from PA – sin (including the sin of sodomy that you like to support) should never be tolerated.
Putting children in harms way should never be tolerated.

Are you so blinded to sin that you think putting men who have same-sex temptations in with innocent boys – is a good idea?
Are you some kind of nut?

        • only a reader says:

Dave, I have never seen Mark from PA support sodomy. I have been reading CCD and its comments for a long time. Mark supports chastity. I know the comments of his antagonists sometimes make it seem like he is guilty of things he is not guilty of. Mark seems to think the best of people. He is a little on the tolerant side compared to most of the other posters. He is a proponent of love and no-not sexual love. He seems to be graced with a innocence that can only come from God. Like a child, Like Christ told us to be.

          • Abeca Christian says:

only a reader is mislead and does not know what he is talking about. He has not dialogued with him on lengthy comments as many of us have, we all know too very well.

          • Only a reader, in times past Mark from PA did support so-called marriage between two men or two women. Perhaps he has changed his mind after many of us told him it was wrong. He has also denied some Church teachings such as the existence of the devil or Satan in the past or that the homosexual orientation is a disorder.

          • Mark from PA says:

Anne T, I have never denied the existence of the devil or satan but I have said that I never really had much interest in the devil or satan and I have expressed a dislike of people calling other people tools of the devil or followers of satan or such things. I have said that I do not view the homosexual orientation as a disorder but that I view it as part of the diversity of nature and that homosexual persons are equal in their dignity and humanity to other persons.

          • Mark from PA, the editor did not print my reply to you as evidently it was too long as I brought up the name of the article, date and time where you were unclear about whether or not you actually believed in the devil. Perhaps I did misinterpret you, but you clearly did not understand what Abeca was saying in that blog because it was directly from new Testament teaching. The blog referred to was “Two Peas in a Pod’ on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 9:39 pm on CC.

      • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

        Mark from PA,

Once again another example of your selective publishing. The document also went on to say that homosexuals are not to allowed to adopt children, and I believe serve in the Military!

        Kenneth M. Fisher

        • Mark from PA says:

Mr. Fisher, to the best of my knowledge, most Catholics don’t have a problem with gays in the military. I think most Catholics are opposed to discrimination against gay people when it comes to serving in the military.

          • PA then your knowledge is quite limited… as someone who served in the armed forces, openly gay men are not healthy for morale of a fighting unit, but this is something far beyond your understanding.

          • Canisius, although Mark from PA, says he teaches catechism and is in his mid forties to early fifties and a cradle Catholic, his knowledge and understanding of Holy Scripture and the catechism is almost nil, nada, zilch. His Christ is all nicey, nicey, a figment of his own imagination.

          • Mark from PA says:

Well, Anne, I learned from the Baltimore Catechism for 7 years in Catholic school. I was taught Religion by nuns those 7 years. You say I don’t know Holy Scripture but I had a course in the Bible in college plus I have gone to many Bible studies over the years. I have read the New Testament many times over so I know Christ from reading the gospels as well as attendance at Mass. When I attend Mass and receive Christ in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, that is more than a figment of my own imagination. I remember in one of the Bible study groups that the priest gave us a quiz that was given to him at a retreat for priests. The quiz was “How Catholic Are You?” It questioned us on our beliefs and we compared our beliefs with what the Catholic Church teaches. I got all 20 of the questions right so I suppose I know something of what the Catholic Church teaches. And yes, Anne, Christ was quite nice to some people. He was especially nice to women who were considered second class citizens in a patriarchal society. Christ was nice to people that were considered “less” in their society.

          • No, Christ was not nice to hypocrites that try to justify sin in the name of acceptance.

PA, it wasn’t a “nicey Christ” that inspired the saints and martyrs throughout the centuries, that I can assure… men do not follow weaklings.

          • Mark PA, anyone can give the answers that are wanted on a test, but whether or not one really believes in them is a “whole different ball game”.

        • Also, Mark PA, women were not always “second class” citizens in the Hebrew and Jewish cultures, even in the Old Testament. In fact they were most often much better off than women in the surrounding cultures. That is some of the things you and others, who do not know the background of the Bible very well, do not seem to understand. Some of the laws that you found offensive before, such as the ones where women were called unclean, were actually laws that protected women and were beneficial to them, and I had to explain that to you in the past. Evidently, some of your teachers did not know the background of the Bible very well or were just plain teaching from their own prejudices.

“Unclean” did not mean to the Israelite women what we might mean by that word today. Unclean only meant that women were “off limits” to their husbands, so they could have time to rest and heal during their menstrual period and after they had a child without their husband bothering them. What some consider “second class” was actually beneficial to women in many cases. Many do not seem to understand the historical background nor the meaning of and reasons for certain legislation and quite often end up considering a person a “victim” when they really are not.

          • Mark PA, I was not saying the nuns taught you error, but most likely you got some of those ideas all on your own while reading the Old Testament.

  20. John Cullen says:

Pope Benedict XVI has stated that men with homosexual tendencies — not to mention acting on them — should not be admitted to seminaries nor ordained. A wise policy, as we have seen the damage such priests have done in recent years. Yet is that not discrimination, Mark? But now they should be admitted as Boy Scout leaders?
Some years ago when the Girl Scouts cozied up to Planned Parenthood, a number of packs/troops broke away and formed the American Heritage Girls. The same thing will happen if this proposed change is approved.

    • Mark from PA says:

John Cullen, I feel it is discrimination to not admit to the seminary or ordain men who have homosexual tendencies, if these men are committed to celibacy and are not sexually active. Who do you feel is more worthy to become a priest, a heterosexual man who is sexually active or a homosexual man who is not sexually active (celibate)? If a man is sexually active with men or women it is better not to become a priest in the Latin Rite because of the celibacy rule. In the past, many homosexual men have been ordained priests, many have been faithfully celibate. Instituting a ban on men who have always been part of the priesthood is discrimination. I think some people have a double standard here. I know of one well known priest, who it appears was quite sexually active with women, and still had many supporters, even among the most conservative of Catholics some of the same people who would support throwing celibate gay priests out of the ministry.

      • “I feel it is discrimination to not admit to the seminary or ordain men who have homosexual tendencies,” Luckily PA the Holy Father cares not what you “feel” or others like you…Gays have zero business being in the priesthood at all, Answer to your question: . Who do you feel is more worthy to become a priest, a heterosexual man who is sexually active or a homosexual man who is not sexually active (celibate)… the heterosexual.. why? because although he is committing sin, his desires are normal unlike homosexual whose sexual desires are abnormal despite what you think and your belief in the “diversity of nature” statement.. you know something PA, pedophiles make the exact same claim as you do, that their perversion is part of sexual diversity….

      • Anonymous says:

Heterosexual men who are sexually active are not candidates for the priesthood either.

        • Anon, you have misconstrued the Church teaching. It is not the activity but the orientation that screens out same sex applicants from seminary. The Pope said that same sex attracted men should not be admitted to the seminaries or orders. The Church has never taught that opposite sex attracted men should not be admitted. Why do you gay apologists always try to equalize sodomy with fornication? They are of two different orders, one being bad but the other being heinously abyssmal. Men easily cope with natural sexual escapades but not from unnatural sexual escapades. Homosexuality runs rampant with bizarre character abnormalities which grossly affect their ability to manage a moral order of society. This is not the case with heterosexuality … but here there is a caveat, which is that the consequence of adultery and idolatry is represented by the gay agenda, ie homosexuality. Homosexuality is a punishment, a consequence of other sins. When society all but institutionalizes idolatry and adultery, then it will devolve into homosexuality. This is happening to the western world right now. We have to “ora et labora” for the Gospel to gain sway over the nations and peoples of this world, and not only ourselves or out regions of the world.

          • Mark from PA says:

Skai, you say that men easily cope with natural sexual escapades. What about women who are exploited and violated by men who are committing “natural sexual escapades”? When violence or force is involved, heterosexual sex can be heinously abyssmal.

          • Skai, I was responding to Mark from PA’s post Feb 1 8:39, not gay apologizing. And you are changing what I said. But while we are on this subject… why do people who have pasts like you (and the other posters who lives were so filled with mortal sins) pass judgement on others? I am sure that you don’t believe that God can convert you and not them. God might send you out to witness that you were converted and how much of a miracle it was, but not to judge and condemn other people’s sins. You are supposed to lead people to the light, not turn the light off.

        • maybe so but I would trust them before I trust a sodomite

          • Mark from PA says:

You see, anonymous, some people consider all men with a homosexual orientation to be sodomites, whether or not they are sexually active. So even a gay teen who is a virgin would still be considered a “sodomite” by some. I didn’t used to be aware of this. Some would prefer that all “sodomites” leave the Church, even though they don’t come right out and say so.

          • PA… OK here it is…. all sodomites should leave the Church…

          • Mark from PA says:

            Yes,

            Yes, Canisius, I understand that.

          • Mark from PA, Canisius was abused by his mother’s Lesbian lover, thus his hatred toward them. Now you know what happens with all these supposedly great and happy homosexual and lesbian families. They are all just plain myth made up by those who want to justify their own sin. The decent thing to do is at least to leave children out of the picture. I do not know why Canisius’s father did not get custody of him, but his mother certainly was not able to take care of him properly. It seems all she and her female lover did was to take their vengeance out on him. Sad to say there will be more of this happening and some day it is going to explode in the faces of those who are encouraging or doing it. It already has started — Canisius is a case in point.

          • Anonymous says:

Anne T. most victims of childhood physical abuse are males. The abuser is most likely to be the victim’s mother. Long term adult consequences include violence and aggression and anxiety or depression. Attitudes such as anger makes me strong are common. Abused males learn that violence is an acceptable means of dealing with conflict. It is possible that as more single mothers have custody of their sons, the incidence of physical abuse will increase. Canisius was not abused by his mother, but his mother did not protect him from his abuser so he also has to deal with that issue. His hatred toward gays and lesbians may be a result of his personal experience, however, as a Christian, he is bound to obey the Lord. The Lord offers him healing, but Canisius has said repeatedly that he does not want it. God bless Canisius and all adults whose lives have been darkened by abuse. The only way out is through and it takes a lot of courage to go through it again, to relive it again, in order to heal and reach a place of peace.

          • Anne T question: ” do not know why Canisius’s father did not get custody of him,” answer He was dead by suicide……

Anon: I chose anger…and knowing one I day I will stand over that monster grave and smile….then I will be healed….and yes that is the source of my hate..

          • Anonymous says:

Canisius, my condolences on your lost childhood and the loss of your Father. Many people cannot begin to accept healing until the abuser dies.

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Canisius I just want to offer my sorrow for what you’ve been put through. I was lucky to have 2 great, loving parents, but so many are not so lucky.

          • YFC and Anon: Thank you….as angry as I can be, I will not show ingratitude…

          • Canisius, I am sorry to hear about your father’s death, and may his soul through the mercy of God rest in peace. Anonymous, your posts on the situation were most excellent and insightful.

          • Canisius, my heart breaks for you. I am somewhat consoled by knowing that you have a nice wife and stepdaughter and a sister who loves you. Why do these things happen to children? Of course it is because of selfishness. I know that God is angry at child abuse and that he will make it up to you in the next life. In eternity, there will be no child abuse. No need for weapons. Some people, very few, begin to live the life of heaven while on earth. Even their sorrrows and tortures become sources of joy because they can offer to God something He does not have in Heaven-suffering. The saints said that if we understood the value of suffering we would never wish for joy. It is so painful to think of the grief you must have felt. I hope the sorrow that fills my heart is a share of yours and you will have less pain. Love, k

          • Thank you K, I refer to my childhood as my own first circle of Hell. though I don’t know how my abuse could be a source of joy, even if it is offered to God. Despite what the saints said, I could have used a little less suffering an lot more joy. My suffering resulted in me becoming a very violent and aggressive person, which embers still burn in me. It also caused me to seek out affection in the wrong places, illicit sex with numerous women, a near addiction to pornography, drinking, shall I go on…No K, the saints were wrong on this one……

          • Canisius, I hope your joy eventually exceeds your suffering. I hope you have at least some moments of peace. Maybe the song of a bird or holding your wife or taking a breath of fresh air in the warm sunshine. “I come in the little things, saith the Lord..”

        • Anon, we all have sinned, and the only way to get free of it is to “pass judgment” on oneself. And since we are to help our brothers, then … bingo … we are to pass judgment on others. It’s called “calling a spade a spade”. If you prefer to live in fantasy land, then you’ll never be able to humble yourself to your sins or the sins of others … which sins need to be eliminated from your life, our lives and society’s life. When Jesus hung on the Cross, all mankind’s sins were reflected in his torture and suffering. If you cannot see the sin that is there, then you cannot reconcile yourself completely with God. This is why I attack the naiive and superficial attitude of you and others especially Rodda. We all need to get down to reality so as to fix the problems. You cannot do this with pink powder puffs for glasses.

          • Skai, it is an act of mercy to admonish the sinner, because the sinner may be unaware that it is an offense and cease the behavior when told. When admonishing, one simply states the truth. One does not judge. It is a sin to engage in sexual behaviors outside of a marriage (between a man and a woman). It is very rare to find someone who has not been guilty of this. When you pass judgement on others, you are passing judgement on yourself. Christ told us that. It is you who live in a fantasy world if you believe the offensive things that you write and the incorrect things that you say about the Church.

          • Anonymous, Skai at times has said some things that were not accurate, but I think when he says that the act of sodomy is a more serious sin at times than fornication or adultery between two people of the opposite sex, he is correct since the former are not called abominations in the Bible nor the catechism, and the latter (sodomy) is considered an abomination. And not only is it considered fornication but a sin against nature. Whereas the former is not a sin against nature in most cases, unless the marriage or adulterous act is consummated in the form of sodomy, etc. Certain types of foreplay are allowed to married couples, ones that are not disease ridden or injurious to the body, as long as the marital act is consummated in the normal way. Now I have said enough. One can get the correct information about the marital act in an approved Catholic book on moral theology, such as Moral Theology by Fr. Heribert Jone, or by asking questions on the EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network) question forum.

          • Anne T. thank you for your post. I remember reading in Saint Faustina’s diary that the small imperfections of the Saints are more offensive to Him than the worst sins of the Godless. So the standard may be how a sinner corresponds to the graces God has given him. As for married couples, just remember, people believe what they want to believe. Pray over whatever you are doing. it is only recently that I have heard the opinion that you have stated and remember that our culture is now saturated with immorality and pornographic images are even in Superbowl half-times. (I’m calling Beyonce “Nurse Crotchet”)

          • Canisius, if it is any consolation to you, I went through a very violent, abusive situation in my life one time that I have never mentioned on here and never will in detail. I did receive counselling for it, though, and after years of working it through, I finally am at peace, even with the person who did it to me. So hold on. Most often time does heal all things.

  21. Gay Scouts of Anywhere? free to found it and make the agenda open leaving parents free to enroll their children or not. Otherwise they have to take the pledge Word God included and offer an extra leadership testimony that one does not to have to give in to SSA and be faithful to His Word.

    • Abeca Christian says:

Its hypocritical to call the boys scouts gay scouts. When they for ages have been what build character in our boys. And not all running them are gay or going to join that are in the gay agenda. I’m sure some troops will still remain loyal. But they haven’t caved in yet, they have been fighting the gay agenda for a while but have you seen the lack of support, now that they may be down, people are saying cruel things on here. Kick them while they are down! What about the boys counting on the adults to do what is right? Who suffers the most, the boys!

Where are God’s people now when they need them to stay on track? Bashing them? I hope not. With any organization, we need to make sure who ever is leading is living a life of integrity and character.

Even when one attends church, if you care, you would make sure that the Pastor leading is truly chaste and living Catholicism. When you place your child in school, one would hope that a parent would make sure that their child is with a decent teacher. With all public organizations, one needs to be responsible to check it out and make sure it is solid!

      God bless! God in peace!

      • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

        Abeca,

What about Camp Counselors? Would you want your child to go to a Camp at which the Camp Counselors may be sodomites? I have a friend who stopped her daughter from attending Girl Scout Camp for that very reason!

This is a very sad day for me, a 30+ year Scouter, who just recently called to offer to be an on call Scout Leader. I have just retracted that offer.

If some troops elect to separate and form another organization as did some Girl Scout troops, they will find the full force of an evil government that was re-elected largely because of the failure of those who are supposed to Shepherds against them.

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
        Kenneth M. Fisher

        • Abeca Christian says:

Mr. Fisher no I would not want my child attending a camp where a camp counselor may be a sodomite. Of course not. : )

I’m so sorry and I understand that this is very sad. But is it for certainty that they caved in?

Well its the kids who lose out. You can thank the homosexuals who want to dig/rule in all those kid organizations, they are the real evil! As we can all tell that it is not about the kids for the homosexuals, it is about their rights to gain free access to kids, and with many situations, some of those homosexuals belong to the man boy love perverted organization.

          God bless you Mr. Fisher.

  22. St. Christopher says:

Sorry, “Mark from PA,” a number of the homosexual lobbyists on this, and other, homosexual sexual issues are not opposed to man-boy sex. Further, it is absolutely clear that homosexuals — maybe not all, but a good number — see the BSA as a fishing pond to form relationships with young boys. (Again, the parallel to Jerry Sandusky and the use of his “foundation” is a good example, although there are others.) The use of the word “animals” refers to those people, those that see the BSA as a target-rich environment. Having said this, it is beyond argument that young males are universally adored by a high percentage of active homosexuals. One day, when a fair and accurate history of the Church’s scandals with priests and the young is written, it will be seen as a model for what happens when homosexual men, in a position of apparent moral authority, come into social contact with boys. The BSA “flip” would be nothing less than another victory for Satan, who knows full well what is likely to happen to these young men. Why would a man who is sexually repelled by women — as most homosexuals say that they are — want to spend lots of time with young boys, particularly where they can be out in the open with them (and with other homosexual scout leaders)? They have no sons, except through phony homosexual adoptions or distasteful sex with women. The BSA, like the Catholic Church, will soon be overwhelmed with homosexual men, who will likely make scout meetings as a place to connect with their like-kind, and to “recruit” the innocent into evil. There is no real dispute that this kind of future awaits the BSA if it elects to admit homosexuals into any level of scout leadership.

    • You are partly correct. I have had extensive experience with the Boy Scouts at the Council level in various parts of the country, depending on where I worked. The information that we had at the executive board level was that the largest percentage of sexual misconduct (we didn’t know the scope of it a few years ago) was commited by heterosexuals. These were often fathers of other boys in the troop, etc. Generally, in my work life we didn’t have to worry about homosexuals hitting on other men. It was usually heterosexual people hitting on the opposite sex that caused the problems. Since the early ’90s, the Scouts have had extensive preventative measures in place. Leaders must be fingerprinted, have background checks, go through special training on what considered bad behavior, and the kids have to go through the same kind of training each year. It is also against the rules for a single man and a single youth to be in a room together, in a car together, etc. For example, if a Scout is the last member at a meeting and needs a ride home, it is against the rules for a leader to take him home unless there is another boy present or he can get another adult to ride with him. Not all troops obey the rules, but, I think you will find that most or the cases you will be reading about in the papers are from several years ago. An other point is that the Scouts operate a bit like a franchise. They offer a program, training, badges, etc. but the program is offered to “chartering institutions” like parishes, Elks clubs, Rotary clubs etc. It is those institutions that will be given the choice from what I have read. It is unlikely the the Mormon Church, the largest chartering institution in scouting will give up its strict requirements. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

      • Your Fellow Catholic says:

        What Bob One says.

And anyone of either sex that uses youth programs of any kind as a target rich environment ARE animals as St. Christopher says.

    • Mark from PA says:

I think some people have the mistaken impression that most homosexuals are closet pedophiles and that they are sexually attracted to every man that they meet. However, this is not true. Are you straight men who comment here sexually attracted to every woman that you meet? Of course not. You may find many women to be attractive but you don’t have feelings of lust toward these women. Most of you probably reserve your sexual feeling for your spouse. This is called maturity, self-control and respect. Do you really think that gay teens and men involved with the boy scouts are joining so they can hit on heterosexual boys and men? I think that gay teens and men involved in the scouts will think it is important to treat others with respect and be treated with respect. As Bob One said the scouts have preventative measures in place and gay people don’t take issue with this. We all think that young people should be protected.

      • PA will just stop it with your constant banging the drum for the gay mafia, neither you or YFC have admitted to the fact that gay men are the biggest proponents of lowering the age of consent. I think gays want into the boy scouts so they corrupt not only a young boys body but his mind as well… You live in this fantasy world where gays could not possibly be guilty of any kind of sexual crime or perversion. Yes I think young people should be protected, especially from people who sew the seeds of confusion and lies…

        • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Canisius, I have no idea where you found such information about who wants to lower the age of censent, or more likely, why you would make up such a statistic. I can honestly say I have NEVER had a conversation with any gay person who wanted to lower the age of consent.

And I think that none of us are naive enough to believe that gay people don’t sometimes commit sex crimes, just as straight people sometimes commit sex crimes. But I don’t think you want to ban heterosexuals from the Boys Scouts, or do you?

And I will reiterate what I said earlier, which is in complete agreement with Mark from PA and with Bob One: No adult should be alone in the presence with an underage person, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, or organization. Priests, for example, should not be taking altar boys or altar girls into the rectory, to a campsite, or even into the vestuary. Priests who committed or who aided and abetted crimes against youngsters are pretty despicable in everyone’s book, whether they preyed on boys or on girls. Full stop.

          • So just because you have never heard of gays wanting to lower the age of consent, means it can’t be true? I live in NYC and I have seen your so called gay pride rallies/marches and without fail there has also been a contingent of NAMBLA with its banners. Maybe you should do some investigation into your so called “communities” own sub cultures and how they are given a wink and a nod…

          • Abeca Christian says:

Oh yes I know how evil NAMBLA is. They do exist and they are in places of power too. They want to have sex with young boys and want to legalize it. They are truly a sick group, they have even gained power with some in the psychiatric society.

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

NAMBLA exists, and I certainly don’t approve of their agenda. Most gay people I know feel the same, some dont’ consider them to be part of the LGBT movement because we don’t believe that it is ethical/permissible/whatever adjective you want to use for adults to be having sex with minors. I admit, there has been an evolution on this issue in the community going back decades. But the vast vast majority feel it should not be permitted for the good of the youth.

          • Mark from PA says:

Canisius, listen to what Your Fellow Catholic is saying. Gay people have no problem with the Boy Scouts having procedures in place to protect the scouts. Gay people don’t have any problem with the Boy Scouts having standards that leaders and scouts have to abide by. What is wrong is to discriminate based on a person’s inborn sexual orientation. If a scout follows the rules of the organization his sexual orientation shouldn’t really matter.

          • YFC, when you say… “that gay people don’t sometimes commit sex crimes, just as straight people sometimes commit sex crimes”, you’re missing the point that to many of us here, we feel that sex with those of the same sex ARE sex crimes… if not in the secular legal sense (though it was for centuries past) at least as sins against God and nature. So using that logic, when you’re already committing sins that you feel are not sins, how can you be a good influence on children when by your very presence you stand in opposition to the ten commandments and the Bible and Church teachings and yet have absolutely NO regret or shame about it, but in fact feel you’re being persecuted for what is not sin but a preferrence. Pedophiles are just a hop skip and a jump (if that) from same sex behavior and I’m sorry that you can’t see that, for the sake of your soul and the sake of the children who trust you. I used to dance and sing in nightclubs, and though I didn’t know it at the time, I was just a hop, skip and a jump away from becoming a prostitute, though at the time I would have denied it vehemently. I used my feminine gifts wantonly and with deliberate intent to be seductive and alluring. I’m deeply ashamed now, but it helps me to see how we can delude ourselves into harmful behaviors that affect those around us and lead them into sin as well. I’m speaking from experience, friend!

          • YFC and PA the problem with both you is that with the entire gay mafia you are trying to make homosexuality NORMAL,,, it is not and never will be anyone who knows what the truth and the PC lies that have slammed into peoples skull for the past 30 years….On the contrary PA sexual orientation does matter, I reject the popular notion that you and YFC are just like me.. well neither one of you are like me or would be capable of doing what I have done…Homosexuality is being forced onto the majority of people by force of law and public shunning, i have no use either, PA as hard you may try I will never ever agree with you or YFC has to say, but I will counter you at every turn… why? because there is nothing like confronting a liberal.

          • Mark from PA says:

Well Canisius, I have never been in a physical fight with anyone and I have never fired a gun. I agree that I wouldn’t be capable of doing some of the things that you have done. But I wouldn’t really want to do some of the things that you have done. I think if you were raised in my family, if you were my brother, then you would have a different view of things. Perhaps you wouldn’t be so angry.

          • PA what you call anger I call a source of strength, are you saying if I was raised by your family I would have the same warped version of right and wrong as you do….???

      • Kenneth M. Fisher says:

If a person is not inclined to obey the Laws of God, what makes anyone believe that they will obey the Scout Laws?

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher, Former Asst. Scout Master, Troop 73

        • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Ummmm, maybe because we obey civil law?

        • Abeca Christian says:

logic (and facts of past occurrences) tells us that there is a higher percentage of child molestations when you have homosexuals running or being in charge of organizations involving children! The church understand that homosexuality is a disorder, if society would go back to acknowledging that fact, then they would not allow those with those disorders in charge of children!

NAMBLA exists and there are many in the homosexual community that fantasize in secret about those type of sexual encounters with young boys, why would anyone risk their children to that? NAMBLA has in secret on how to even gain the trust of the child and even their parents. They say it’s love and that boys seek to enjoy that kind of touching too. It’s sick, too sick to even go into details!

Why are homosexuals in denial, they act like homosexuals are all innocent and that they can’t sin with the disorder that they have to live with. It’s like putting an alcoholic in charge of bar or a liquor store. Where is the logic!

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

When you actually present facts and evidence, then we can have a conversation. But simply asserting that gay people endanger youth, sorry but experience and studies indicate otherwise. But as I’ve said before, any group that allows ANY adult access to youngsters without supervision by other adults or at least in a group setting ought not be trusted by parents.Trust, but verify. That goes for straight as well as gay. If any parent sleeps soundly because a group believes it has all straight leadership, and does not follow this “no unsupervised” rule, he is sleeping on a earthquake fault line about to shift.

          • YFC, How far are you willing to see the so-called “sexual revolution” go? There are numerous groups out there looking to “normalize” polyamory, inter-generational sex (pedophilia), genetic sexual attraction (aka incest)? Where are you willing to draw the line and say this is not normal, against the natural law and unacceptable? Explain your reasoning… what makes homosexuality normal and all the others abnormal?

          • Waiting for the convoluted liberal answer to that question….

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Canisius, it is you who say that I say homosexuality is normal. I dont’ think I’ve said that. Besides, why is it that when someone (like me) presents a scientific view of homosexuality, and one which, by the way, is in keeping with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, that then I am expected to justify or back away from a whole litany of other unrelated issues. Homosexuality is not incest. It is not any of those other things on your list, so please don’t ask me about them. They are not my thing.

          • YFC figures you would cop out of the question… the perverts trying to justify pedophilia and incest use the same arguments that people like you and PA use, “its all part of a continuum of sexuality”…

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Canisius, please do not put words into my mouth. You won’t find in them any defense of pedophilia or incest.

          • But you still refuse to answer that question… whats make homosexuality normal and all other perversions abnormal….

          • Canisius, I too have noticed over the years that many self described conservative same sex attracted people see other disordered sexual orientations as abnormal and see their own as normal and equal to heterosexuality. Most SSA individuals use the “we were born that way” or ” we can’t help who we love” and as long as the sex is consensual, no one gets hurt. Many other sexual orientations can use the same excuses so I wonder why SSA individuals get so offended when they are compared to other groups? For instance, what about people who struggle with Genetic Sexual Attraction? Their defense is, we are consenting adults, we can’t help who we fall in love with, and we aren’t hurting anyone. When I tried to make the comparison with SSA to a SSA friend of mine he was so offended.

          • Loraine, its called defining deviancy down, they think they are normal we all know they are not……

          • Your Fellow Catholic says:

Canisius, I don’t use terms like normal and abnormal, as there really isn’t such a thing in nature. Heterosexuality is the “average” sexual orientation, and homosexual and bisexual orientations are not average. Appropriate analogies would be eye color and handedness. Being brown eyed and right handed is the “average” but are no more “normal” than blue eyed left handed individuals. One would not refer to a left handed person as “abnormal”, though in generations past, a lot of angst and pain was caused in making lefties feel less than normal and in need of change.

          • YFC, I understand you would not use terms like normal and abnormal, by this statement alone you admit to not believing in moral truth, which is a common among morally compromised liberals… YFC you are easily defined — no judgments, no right or wrong, no good or evil. You are part of the problem of why society is near its end…. only someone like you would compare sexual perversions with being left handed. Be Brave, Make Judgments!

        • The govt is attempting to nationalize the Boy Scouts. They want it to be, The United States Boy Scouts of America. Click your heels, add the monacle to the official uniform and don’t forget to snap one of those straight arm salutes. That is what they want. How many Scouts will go for it? How many will break away and keep a moral code?

        • Excellent point, Kenneth.

          • Another good point, Canisius. I believe YFC really does not care if those are legalized. How could he if he wants two men or two women to be able to to marry. When sodomy among adults was decriminalized in this state, no one in their right mind ever thought we would ever be discussing marriage between two men but now we are. These guys fool no one but themselves.

        • Liberals do not have answers … hope I plugged this one into the right time slot this time.

    • ** The use of the word “animals” refers to those people**: St Christopher, my dogs have read this and umbrage is now being taken on account of it. Please realize that dogs and animals in general do not like to be likened to sodomites, as it insults them and God who made them.

      • Mark from PA says:

So Skai, you are saying that homosexual persons are less than dogs? God made dogs but he also made homosexual persons. It seems that you view homosexual persons as less than fully human. Do you ever think of what some of what you post sounds like to any gay Catholic teens that read CCD?

  23. There is a group that advocates sexual relations between men and boys in the United States. It is called NAMBLA — North American Man/Boy Love Association. That cannot be denied, and it has come up against the law many times.

    • Abeca Christian says:

Yes they have been around for a long while now. I also recall Dr. Laura in her early years of her career on the radio, she tried to expose them and their connection with some of the psychiatric organizations, some were trying to normalize sex with young boys. They have attacked her viciously by boycotting her programs and such, even threatening letters. But towards the end of her career, she kinda bowed down to some of the gay lifestyles unfortunately. She still protected kids.

      • Yes, Dr. Laura was one good Jewish lady. She told it as it was most times. They persecuted her without mercy, and it will come back to bite them. God is not mocked ever.

        • The first time I ever heard Doctor Laura speak was at the Anaheim Religious Education Congress, and she was GRRRRRRRRRRREAT!

        • Dr. Laura was … “was” ? Has she checked out?

          • Abeca Christian says:

Skai Dr. Laura is no longer on the air. She never gave us reasons as to why? She said she that was not going away completely but to be honest it does seem like she went away. She did seem kinda gay couples friendly (because she said that she had a gay friend) towards the end to be honest. Towards the end, I didn’t her tone of strong convictions like we use too….I did often feel that she was hard on women.

She was OK with men looking at porn, because that is what guys do? Yuick just some things weren’t Christian because I figure it because she was not a Christian but her values for family values was good, she did stick up for us stay at home mum’s and gave us a voice, which is important and she really defended children, that was awesome! and so on and so on…

  24. The radical feminists ruined the Girl Scouts in most places. Most parents on here feel that the radical homosexual groups will eventually take over the Boy Scouts, as was done with the Girl Scouts and many public schools, and ruin it too. The solution in our family to all this was to take our own children camping, along with like minded friends and relatives who practiced Judeo-Christian values. Yes, I will miss the popcorn as I already miss the cookies, but it is better to make ones own with other brands, than to worry about our children being indoctrinated into sinful behavior.

  25. The Boy Scouts of America have a HUGE record of sexual abuse cases, rather like our own Church, with pedofiles being moved to place to place.

It’s sad that boys were subjecvted to such predators for years and years before the Boy Scouts of America FINALLY decided to clean up their act with child molesters.

    And, sigh, now this!

    • When I was in the Boy Scouts there was no indication of sexual activity. With their now top executive pulling down $800 Big Ones annually without doing much other than giving in to the gays, then I’d say corruption has wriggled its way into where the sun don’t shine in their lives. And now they want to pass it on down to the boys.

  26. Abeca Christian says:

I see that there are a lot of petitions circulating on line, I hope they get a lot and still decide not to cave in!

But like this article states, I hate to say it but I am sad that they may cave in. We will have to see. God help us!
