US bishops fire doctrine consultant for criticizing Pope Francis

Former chief of staff for U.S. bishops’ Committee on Doctrine resigns as consultant to the same committee after making public a letter accusing the pontiff of sowing “chronic confusion” and teaching in an “intentionally ambiguous” manner
