“Standing up for the transgender community”

California attorney general files friend-of-the–court brief in case seeking to force VA hospitals to provide sex-reassignment surgery

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra today joined a friend-of-the–court brief supporting transgender rights for veterans in the case Fulcher v. Secretary of Veterans Affairs before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The brief defends a veteran’s right to health care coverage from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) for medically necessary care such as sex reassignment surgery.

“It is unacceptable for the federal government to discriminate against our transgender veterans, who have sacrificed so much for our country, by denying them coverage for necessary medical care,” said Attorney General Becerra. “In California, we make sure medically necessary care is covered because no veteran should be unable to receive care their physician says is critical. Across the country, the least we can do for veterans is provide the health coverage they need.”

Attorney General Becerra joined the attorneys general of Washington, Connecticut, Hawai’i, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Vermont and the District of Columbia in filing the amicus brief.

  1. Stop the insanity! There are no transgenders! Only mentally ill people who believe they are or desire to be the opposite of their biological sex. What’s next? Transpeciesism? If someone believes she’s a cat, will society have to take that seriously too? And will people who calmly state the brute truth that she isn’t a cat be called hateful bigots?

    • Covfefe says:

Oh, yes: and department stores and schools will then be mandated by the government to have litter boxes available along with normal bathrooms for all the transpecies patrons and students to use. Not to provide for the needs of transpecies people or to force them to use a toilet in a stall like human beings who have modesty would be degrading and discriminatory. Add another letter to the LGBTS for the transpeciesists! If you oppose it you are a bigot.

It is certainly ironic how liberals who posture as defenders of science when it comes to global warming (a sentimental myth unsupported by evidence) flee all reference to biology when it comes to gender. Biology has been programmatically excluded from women’s studies and gender studies programs for almost 50 years now.
Thus very few current gender studies professors and theorists, here and abroad, are intellectually or scientifically prepared to teach their subjects.

The cold biological truth is that sex changes are impossible.

Every single cell of the human body remains coded with one’s birth gender for life. Intersex ambiguities can occur, but they are developmental anomalies that represent a tiny proportion of all human births.

There is no such thing as transgender only male and female, should one who claims to be transgender and passed away and an autopsy was performed it would conclude that the deceased was male or female, one cannot change science.
