Not enough clients for Women's Health Specialists

The following comes from a March 29 Californians for Life newsletter:

After 28 years of abortions, Women’s Health Specialists in Santa Rosa CLOSED! The reason according to abortion clinic staff, “There were not enough clients.”

The Women’s Health Specialists abortion chain’s former Medical Director Dr. Bruce Steir was a notoriously dangerous abortionist who hurt many women, including a woman who bled to death after he punctured her uterus during an abortion. Dr. Steir, who was on medical probation at the time, performed thousands of abortions at Women’s Health Specialist and was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

The Women’s Health Specialist abortion chain, which reportedly does 6,000 abortions a year, has been struggling financially for several years, taking out several loans and were involved in lawsuits over forcing workers to disrobe for group “self-exams”. This closure is huge news for California, where pro-abortion Democrats pushed through legislation to allow non-physicians to perform abortions, deregulated the abortion industry, increased the Medi-Cal reimbursement rate for abortion by 40% and forced life-affirming Pregnancy Clinics to refer clients to places like this for abortion. The closure of Women’s Health Specialist abortion business in Santa Rosa follows a national, record-setting trend documented in Bloomberg Business Reports.

“Not enough clients” is a great reason to close an abortion business and is something everyone can celebrate. Women’s Health Specialists in Santa Rosa was the focus of many 40 Days for Life prayer vigils and we continue our year-round presence at their WHS location in Sacramento, 1442 Ethan Way, on abortion mornings, Thursdays and Fridays, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.   The Women’s Health Specialists abortion chain also has businesses in Redding and Chico, where 40 Days for Life have been very active.

Now is the time to increase our efforts at the Sidewalk at all of the 150 abortion businesses in our state. We want to make sure every community that has a Planned Parenthood in CA is registered for the ProtestPP on Saturday, April 23rd, from 9-11. Please find your nearest Planned Parenthood and register your community today. If an abortion business in Santa Rosa can close after 28 years, surely that can also happen in your community!

  1. This is good news! Let’s continue to pray that “there were not enough clients” becomes the norm as women reject abortion. Ladies, these killing centers cannot operate if you do not bring them business. Choose life!

  2. Bruce Saul Steir, M.D. was convicted and sent to prison in Riverside, California, for killing a young Black mother, Sharon Hamptlon. He knew he perforated her uterus and was in shock, but he left her and flew back to San Francisco from Riverside. By the time Hamptlon’s mother got her daughter back home, Sharon was dead.

Steir was the recipient of the Margaret Sanger Award from the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Steir is now 85 years old.

  3. Rest assured, Bruce Steir surrendered his medical license subsequent to his felony conviction, and subsequently can not legally practice medicine in California.

  4. Praise God, and thanks to those who helped close it.
