From Celtic Pagan to Practicing Catholic: a Journey Through the New Age Movement

Dean Marshall

Saturday, June 20

12:30 -2:30

Why are young people drawn to the New Age movement, and why is it so dangerous?

In this lecture touching on the New Age Movement, specifically Wicca and Paganism, we will follow one individual’s journey from polytheistic worship to the True Faith and belief in Jesus Christ.

After examining this conversion story, we will move to a more practical perspective, giving a brief history of Neo-Paganism, and how to better reach young people today who may be falling into New Age practices, and how to keep them engaged in their faith at a time when the world tries to draw them elsewhere.

Familiarity with the book Catholics and The New Age by  Fr. Mitch Pacwa, but is not strictly necessary. A further reading list will be given at the lecture.
